When it comes to gender diversity, women represent more than half of the world’s population and just under half of the global workforce, however they are still underrepresented within many organizations, including Siemens, where the number is currently less than 30% globally. In this conversation with Siemens CFO Ralf Thomas, we discuss how we are accelerating our commitment to increase the share of women, especially in business functions and in management positions.
In this latest episode, our host Natalia Oropeza speaks with Kim Clark - a diversity, equity, inclusion educator and consultant at Ragan Consulting Group. Kim has lead global employee communication teams at KLA, GoDaddy, GitHub and PayPal. She teaches at San Jose State University and she’s the co-author of a new book called The Conscious Communicator. Natalia asks Kim to explain what inclusive language is, why it seems to be increasingly important these days, what advice she would give to those of us who worry about getting it wrong and why ‘progress’ is more important that ‘perfection’.
In Episode 2, recorded on February 3, 2022, our host Natalia Oropeza (Chief Diversity Officer and Chief Cybersecurity Officer, Siemens AG) is joined by Dr. Zsolt Sluitner, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Real Estate (SRE) to discuss how the built environment influences not only the quality of people’s lives but also their sense of belonging.
In this, the first episode in our series, Natalia Oropeza (Chief Diversity Officer and Head of Cybersecurity of Siemens AG) is joined by special guests from the Volkswagen Group, Beate Hofer (Chief Information Officer) and Elke Heitmüller (Head of Diversity) as they discuss the role and responsibility of big business in creating diverse, equitable and inclusive environments.
