Happy Tuesday, beautiful people! The men’s college basketball transfer portal officially has opened, giving Ku & Paul plenty of ammo to open the show talking about with the University of Hawai’i seeing plenty of movement. UH athletics director Matt Elliott joins the show at the bottom of the hour to give updates on a variety of topics facing the school, including the new local media rights deal, the latest in contract talks with MBB coach Eran Ganot and where the hiring process stands for the WBB head coaching job.
Hour 2 starts by recapping our conversation with Hawai’i AD Matt Elliott, giving our biggest takeaways from the plethora of information the school’s top athletics administrator divulged in the first hour. We shift to the baseball diamond, hearing from HPU HC Dane Fujinaka, freshman LHP Nick Blakeney and pitching coach Zach Swanstrom after the Sharks swept a Monday doubleheader against crosstown rival Chaminade. The day wraps up with a quick recap of Paul’s thoughts from the NCAA men’s basketball national title game before Ku sends off her morning show partner for the foreseeable future as he and his wife await the birth of their daughter.

We also discuss the women’s portal opening, seeing Keiara Curtis put her name in to transfer after a big freshman season with Hawaii. The first hour wraps up talking about Hawai’i men’s volleyball’s impressive weekend wins at UC Irvine, hearing from HC Charlie Wade after sweeping the Anteaters. *Note, we did experience technical difficulties*
Na Menehune improved to 8-1 in league play and are at the top of the OIA East after their 5-1 win over the Falcons. Kalani drops to 6-2 in league play.
We start the show with the news that former UH Men's Basketball Associate Head coach Brad Davidson will be leaving Mānoa to take an assistant coach position at USC. University of Hawai'i football alum Rocky Savaiigaea joins the show to share about his experience helping those on the North Shore who were affected by the Kona Low storms, living true to his brand The Village HI. Later in the hour, Ku'u welcomes Nā Koa Football Club President Daren Kimura who shares about all the exciting things coming up at the annual golf tournament on April 14 and more ways that fans can support the Rainbow Warrior football program.
Ku is joined fully by Paul for the 2nd hour for a rare two-hour Thursday show, letting the soon-to-be-dad talk about the nerves of a Spartan Sprint April coinciding with the birth of his daughter. We shift gears to the volleyball court, hearing from Hawaii men’s volleyball head coach Charlie Wade ahead of a critical weekend road series against No. 5 UC Irvine. The day wraps up previewing Senior Weekend in the pool for the University of Hawaii women’s water polo squad and Paul's thoughts on former Hawaii men's basketball Associate HC Brad Davidson heading to USC.
Hawai‘i Pacific powered past Fresno Pacific, 13–9, in a high-scoring PacWest matchup at Hans L’Orange Park. The Sharks jumped out early with three runs in the first and led 4–2 after two innings before Fresno Pacific surged ahead with a five-run stretch across the third and fourth to take a 7–4 lead. HPU answered immediately, tying the game at 7–7 in the fourth behind RBI hits from Noah Hata and Jayden Gabrillo. The momentum fully swung in the sixth when Tyler Arnold launched a two-run homer to put the Sharks back in front for good. Arnold finished with two home runs and four RBIs, while Christian Perez added a homer and four RBIs of his own to lead an 18-hit offensive effort. Jacob Vanek earned the win in relief, and Noah Rhea closed it out as HPU pulled away late with four runs over the final two innings.

We talk some Rainbow Wahine water polo ahead of their Senior Week, hearing from seniors Roni Perlman & Tara Logan along with HC James Robinson as another successful regular season winds down. The first hour wraps up chatting some Hawai’i softball, hearing from head coach Panita Thanatharn & 1B/RHP Millie Fidge ahead of a tough road trip against nationally-ranked UCLA & the Big West’s top team UC Santa Barbara. It’s a somber but celebratory Tuesday in the Den as Ku & Paul spend the day discussing the legendary 14-year run by Hawaii Rainbow Wahine basketball coach Laura Beeman coming to a close yesterday after the longtime coach announced her retirement. We touch on her career achievements, hear her press conference opening statement and a few of her answers to questions from the local media one more time.
