One cold dark wintery evening whilst stood in Sainsburys I read the blurb to this book and realised that 'holy shit! There must be thousands of books written by celebrities that are bat shit crazy!!' and here we are. 10 Episodes later and 10 terrible books read and series 1 has drawn to a close. We hope to come back with a series 2 but in the meantime will be doing one off specials. We hope you enjoy this final episode!

Episode 9 -Shopgirl

2022-07-0101:18:39

Hello!! On this months episode we discuss the novel Shopgirl written by Steve Martin. I (Adam) was hesistant to read this book for several reasons. Firstly, Steve Martin is a childhood hero of mine I struggled to believed he would write a bad book. Secondly, as Steve Martin is an accomplished author, playwrite, actor and musician I thought this book would be too good and therefore would be a funny one for us a review and there myself and Helen would have to do some actual work and be proper reviewers of books. Enjoy!!

Episode 1 - Fan Tan

Episode 1 - Fan Tan

2021-10-0155:37

We discuss Fan Tan a book that was surprisingly published 2005 (despite the rampant racism) and was written by Marlon Brando and Donald Cammell. Amazon describes the book as - When Annie gets out of prison, she thanks him with an offer of inconceivable wealth if he will join her in the biggest act of piracy of her career. Madame Lai is a seductive and powerful ally, but Annie is about to discover that she can be an even more powerful-and dangerous-enemy.-With his longtime collaborator, screenwriter and director Donald Cammell, Brando worked on this story for years. The result is a rollicking, swashbuckling delectable romp of a novel - the last surprise from an ever-surprising legend. We have some alternative thoughts on this novel
A brief introduction of who we are and why we are doing what we are doing. More episodes to come soon.
