Description

Welcome to the Healing Begins on the Inside Podcast, a safe space where your story is honored, your experience is valued, and your journey towards healing is supported.

Some of us became helpers because we had to. We learned to read rooms, manage crises, and hold space for everyone else… and somewhere along the way, we forgot that our own bodies were keeping score.

I’m Dena, Trauma-Informed Somatic Coach, Integrative Health Coach, Yoga Instructor and Somatic Educator. I’m also an adoptive mama and caregiver, walking my own path through the realities of chronic stress, caregiving, trauma, and the quiet weight of holding it all together.

Healing Begins on the Inside is for caregivers, cycle breakers, and the helpers who are exhausted, especially those caring for loved ones with neurodegenerative conditions, parenting autistic children, or supporting aging parents while still trying to stay afloat themselves.

Here, we explore what it means to heal when you’re also the one holding everyone else...through body-led practices, nervous system support, honest conversations, and the kind of compassion that meets you where you actually are.

It’s been almost two years since I last recorded an episode, and in this deeply personal return to Healing Begins on the Inside Podcast, I’m sharing what life has held in this season and why these past two years have changed not only me but the work I feel called to do now. This episode is for the caregivers, cycle breakers, and the ones quietly holding it all together while carrying more than most people can see.We talk about caregiving, chronic stress, family trauma, health uncertainty, aging parents, and what healing really looks like when you’re still in the thick of it...not polished, not linear, and not tied up in a bow.I also share the new direction of Healing Begins on the Inside Podcast, and why I’m stepping more fully into body-led healing, nervous system support, and trauma-informed bodywork in this next chapter. If you’ve been living life on hard mode, I hope this episode reminds you that you’re not alone.Chapters00:00 Introduction to Healing and Caregiving01:13 Navigating Personal Trauma and Uncertainty03:46 The Weight of Chronic Stress and Caregiving09:01 Embodied Healing and Authentic Connections13:55 Shifting Professional Focus and Personal Growth16:55 The Ongoing Journey of Healing and Support
