No words can describe the essence of Parveen Shakir's poetry
From the pen of Jai Singh @oldschoolbastard
The world has allowed only a few women to pour their hearts out....
We are more than a certain role that society has fit us into. We are human beings who are Vulnerable, broken and exhausted.
Deepti Mishra and her unrequited love.
The chaotic melancholy of Faiz..
Parveen Shakir amazes me every time.
From the pen of Shakeel Badayuni that later was adopted by the voice of Begum Akhtar.
What a beautiful dream it was. I knew it would hurt me. I knew that in the end, all I could get was a sobbing heart and a soul more broken than before. But I decided to live in the illusion. The illusion of getting a forever that I once pictured, a hand I saw holding mine, a shoulder I laid my head on to cry.
In the end, I woke up alone in my bed, hugging my pillow under the sheets with an ache strangling my heart and a cry that no one heard.
I was watching Ijaazat today. All wrapped up in a blanket when I heard Mahender saying ‘116 Chand ki Raatein’I don’t know what and how it happened but I found myself crying. I don’t know what made me break down. Perhaps, it was a long-suppressed heartache that decided to unleash itself at its fullest. I wanted to keep going until it felt okay, but it never did. So I decided to distract myself, and I ended up making this.Music: Hazar Raahein Mud keWriten by Gulzar

Kabhi neend mein kabhi hosh mein
Tu jahan mila tujhe dekh kar
na nazar mili na zuban hili
Yunhi sar jhuka k guzar gae.
Mujhe yaad hai kabhi ek the
Magar aaj hum hain juda juda
Wo juda hue to sanwar gae
Hum juda howe to bikhar gae
Kabhi ruk gaye kabhi chal diye
Kabhi chalte chalte bhatak gae
Yunhi umar sari guzar gai
Yunhi zindagi k sitam sahe
