Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha
Avahana mantras begin with “Om Gam Ganapataye Namah” and are invocation mantras. Avahana mantras are used to invoke certain aspects of God before doing something. Avahana is, for example, an important part of puja, the Hindu ritual of worshiping gods, or religious rituals in general. However, Avahana mantras are also part of everything one can do in yoga. And it is good practice to invoke divine energy before starting anything.
The chanted text
Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha
Spiritual translation Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha
Oh Ganesha, remove all obstacles so that we may begin with great joy. I bow to the lotus feet of Ganesha, who removes all obstacles. He is the son of Uma, destroys all worries, and has a retinue of Bhuta Ganas (angels). He has an elephant head and loves Kapittha and Jambu fruits.

“Sarva Mangala Mangalye” actually belongs to the Devi Mahatmyam; it is a mantra from the eleventh chapter of the Devi Mahatmyam, tenth verse. This eleventh chapter is also known as Narayani Stotra because it contains many mantras that end with “Narayani Namostute.” One of these, and the best known, is “Sarva Mangala Mangalye.”
It is also a Mangala Charana Mantra. Mangala means blessing, happiness, all that is auspicious. Charana also means wish. Thus, it is a mantra of blessing, a mantra of intercession, a mantra of goodwill. In yoga, everything you do is concluded with wishes for the well-being of all beings. This can be as simple as chanting “Shanti” three times. Shanti means peace, peace for everyone in this world. You can do it by chanting “Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu,” you can do it by repeating “Sarvesham Svasti Bhavatu” or “Om Sarva Mangala Mangalye.”
The text:
Om
Sarva-mangala-mangalye
Shive Sarvartha-sadhike /
Sharanye Tryambake Gauri
Narayani Namostu Te //
Spiritual translation Om Sarva Mangala Mangalye
Worship of the three-eyed mother Narayani. She brings happiness and fulfills all the seeker's wishes (both material and spiritual).
