Thank you for walking with us in the route through the main trends that mark the business fabric in our podcast Approaching the Future 2021. In this chapter, we delve into the importance of integrating ESG criteria to identify risks and opportunities in the non-financial aspects of an organization.
We already know: during 2020, technology has allowed us to be connected, to work, learn and communicate. This increased connectivity, as a result of the coronavirus, has also caused an exponential increase in risks related to cybersecurity. In fact, in the first two months of the pandemic, the number of threats increased by 2,000%. What challenges has the pandemic brought in integrity and ethics, in a digital world?
We give a shout out to everyone who has followed Approaching The Future 2021, the Podcast. We are approaching the last chapters of the series advancing, from this moment, in an upward trend: sustainable, more profitable and resilient investments. The financial sector, investors and asset managers play an essential role in achieving the objectives set by the 2030 Agenda. Long-term financing and investment strategies are capable of creating value for people and the planet, as well as responding to global challenges such as the fight against climate change or the defense of human rights.
We are facing the countdown to action on the 2030 agenda. Until today, the focus has been on achieving the SDGs as a route to a more sustainable world, however, today the need is in activating resources and strategies, by companies and governments, to achieve these goals. And the challenge is great: we are far behind on the path of commitments towards a rapidly approaching 2030. We begin a new chapter of Approaching The Future 2021, the Podcast, with another of the most relevant trends in sustainability.
The issues of diversity and inclusion are becoming increasingly important to face the challenges of inequality and discrimination of any kind. These issues today affect organizations in a transversal way, ceasing to be an exclusive territory of the human resources areas. To respond to the diverse expectations of stakeholders, companies must address these issues with a multidisciplinary perspective: from how talent, brand, communication and advertising are managed, to the configuration of their products and services, so that they respond to the needs of a diverse society.
We live in times of changing paradigms and preferences. New relationship models are emerging between people, brands and ∑, largely driven by the pandemic. Citizens, more than ever, expect brands to be connected to their reality, their functional, emotional and social needs and to offer concrete solutions to their daily problems, with a positive social, environmental, ethical and economic impact. In this episode, we review regenerative brands in the era of activism.
Welcome to the eighth episode of our Approaching the Future 2021 podcast. In this episode we will review the new communication and management OF INTANGIBLE ASSETS. Without a doubt, the growth of social movements, to claim the defense of the planet and the rights of people, have had a significant impact on the expectations and demands of all the groups of interests. This change is the main factor that impacts the corporate communication strategy of organizations.
We start a new episode of Approaching The Future 2021, the Podcast. On this occasion, we will deal with a trend that, in the context of a pandemic, has experienced an exponential acceleration: we are talking about the transformation of work, along with new technologies. A practice that emerged as a lifeline for labor and economic activity, has emerged as an entrenched practice that will continue beyond the pandemic. Could it be that the work went from being a place we go to, to an activity we do? LETS FIND OUT!
The building of a solid reputation as a platform for the creation and protection of long-term value is one of the keys to organisational resilience. A capacity more relevant than ever post COVID-19 where companies have been in the sights of society. Thus, the measurement and management of reputational risks become strategic tools to guarantee the future of organizations. We will focus on this in the sixth episode of Approaching The Future 2021, the Podcast.
The economy and well-being of societies depend directly on the care and protection of natural capital. In a context of health and economic crisis, it is evident that the pandemic is inseparably linked to global environmental issues such as loss of biodiversity, climate change, air and water pollution or waste management. However, despite the climate emergency, this trend is currently not among the priorities of companies: only 25.9% say that their organizations are working on this. How has the pandemic affected the aspirations of the 2030 Agenda in the environment and sustainable economy? Here we begin the fifth chapter of Approaching The Future 2021, the Podcast.
The line between the physical world and the digital world is increasingly blurred. Technological innovations in full development, such as 5G or artificial intelligence, transform the way we communicate, relate to and interact with the environment. This growing digitalization requires a new way of coping in a physical and online world at the same time, especially after the pandemic. As a result of the months of confinement and mobility restrictions, citizens have turned to digital solutions in practically all personal and professional fields. We begin the fourth chapter of Approaching The Future 2021, the podcast. Let's start talking about the path to a digital hybrid society.
We begin the third chapter of Approaching The Future 2021, the podcast. In the last year, the corporate purpose has undergone an evolution: defining it is already considered a baseline in organizations. Now the challenge is to find the right tools so that its implementation and activation are tangible and measurable. Today, the role of purpose is to be the foundation of organizational strategy and the lever for transformation. The pandemic has revealed new challenges in the corporate world that have made organizations feel a certain urgency to demonstrate that they have a positive economic, social and environmental impact. We are in the era of Walk The Talk: stakeholders expect fewer words and more action.
Welcome to the second session of our Podcast Approaching The Future 2021. Today we will focus on another of the trends identified in our annual report: the Post-Covid world, Vulnerable and Uncertain. A trend that has a transversal impact on all the trends detected in Approaching The Future 2021. And the only thing we are clear about is that the world will never be the same again.
In this first session, we will address one of the trends related to the global context: we talk about new leadership models for a new reality marked by a post-covid world. There is no doubt that those responsible for organizations have faced, during the pandemic, really complex decision-making in the midst of an environment of great uncertainty and volatility. They face the watchful eye of their stakeholders, who have high expectations about how they should address the challenges of environmental, economic and social sustainability.
We end the series with a summary chapter where we highlight the 15 main learnings of this edition and that will guide companies and their professionals on the path to excellence in the management of their intangibles. Companies connected to the demands of their audiences, society, and new challenges WILL THRIVE.
Today on our 2020 Approaching The Future podcast, we talk about non-financial reporting as a tool for trust. This is the last episode of our series. If you have come this far, we congratulate you, because you´ve traveled with us through the main trends that mark the present and future of intangibles management. On the other hand, if today is your first day, remember that this episode is part of a series that allows you to learn about the latest advances in reputation, brand, sustainability, ethics and business transparency.
It is no doubt that the transparent and secure management of data must be part of the business strategy itself. At a time when technology has enabled business continuity, it is essential to raise awareness and educate employees and suppliers about the importance of cybersecurity. The data privacy dilemma in the face of artificial intelligence is debated today in the 2020 Approaching The Future podcast.
We welcome everyone who has followed the Approaching The Future podcast. And to those who joined us at this time, we want to let you know that you have all the chapters of the series available on our channel. In any case, it should be noted that as we are approaching the last chapters of the series, we are going to dive into the trends related to ethics and transparency. In this session, we will focus on the challenges for the value chain, a key group of interest for the survival of companies in terms of management and operation, but also in terms of reputation. We will talk today about technology, product traceability, and transparency, as the main challenges for companies when we talk about the value chain.
We begin a new chapter of the Approaching The Future podcast, with another of the most relevant trends in sustainability. Today we will talk about the growing activism of citizens and their consumer behaviors, which are often contradictory. Although there is an emerging movement of people who want to consume more responsibly, we observe how a significant majority still prioritize traditional aspects when making purchase decisions.
