The question 'where are you from?' fills me with dread because I don't know how to answer it. Do we naturally belong to one place because we were born there, or one group of friends because we've known them the longest? Does it feel like the places we're supposed to belong to - at home, at work, with friends - don't quite fit? Home to me isn't a place, it's a feeling. There is no one place that I feel I belong to, but anywhere that brings me peace and joy is somewhere that I belong. What does belonging mean to you? I would love to know.
