Kentucky baseball couldn't script a more up and down way to begin the season. Go on the road and sweep UNC Greeensboro, great. Lose stud Tyler Bell to indefinitely to a shoulder injury one game in, not great. That just plain sucks. Now they have to go about the business of the home opener v Morehead State and beyond without him.
Coach Lawson and the softball team have already had an up and down start to their season too. Vinny and Cole talked about this and finished up the episode with a little more UK basketball.

There are no moral victories. Ever. That said, Kentucky didn't get blown out at Florida. They could have, because they were on the verge. Turnovers in the first half were their undoing, as they led to lots of Florida points. Their bigs do what they do, but letting their guards go off too was just too much to overcome.
Georgia is limping into Lexington. The Cats need to be aggressive and take their will right off the bat.

Trent Noah and Teonni Key are playing different roles and in different situations for their respective teams. Both players had nice games in Kentucky's wins over Arkansas in men's and women's basketball.
Trent hadn't played much this season. Teonni was fresh off of an injury. If you go back and watch both games you can see their impact in the wins. Fun to see. Fayetteville was just what the doctor ordered for both teams.

A tough week on the road (at Vandy, Arkansas) will essentially put Kentucky back at square one. The same questions that were being asked before SEC play began will present themselves all over again. Plus other SEC basketball and Super Bowl conversation.

Kentucky is giving us heart attacks with these slow starts in the first half. They were on the struggle bus in Baton Rouge vs LSU and again at Tennessee and both times they battled back to get the dubs. Denzel Aberdeen was in his bag. Jaylen Carey was all in his feelings. Beating Tennessee never gets old! Lol!
Gotta keep it going against Texas.

We saw the Missouri game, we saw the bounce back vs Mississippi State. Cats can't just show up at LSU and assume it will be an easy dub. Speedy recovery to Jaland Lowe. That kid fought and tried his best to be available in spite of the shoulder issues.

Kentucky finished up their non-conference schedule against Bellarmine and the Knights were determined to hang around. Kam Williams made sure the Cats stayed in front courtesy of his eight bombs from three. The Cats now have a break before heading to Tuscaloosa to start conference play against Alabama on Jan. 3.

The ending was just too brutal. A 41-0 beat down at the hands of the rival Louisville Cardinals was too much for Mark Stoops to overcome. We offeered our condolences to Oscar Combs and his family on the loss of his wife, Donna.
Looked back at Kentucky's brutal loss to Vanderbilt and ahead to the Governor's Cup battle with Louisville this weekend.
