Are we building with Jesus or pushing Him out to protect our own position?  The parable of the tenants tells a scary story. Jesus speaks of how a tenant kills the son of a landowner in an attempt to keep the inheritance for themselves. In this session, Mike reminds us that in today’s world, church leaders can reject what Jesus is saying because they fear losing their position of power. We need to recognise that Jesus is the Head and that we must submit to Him no matter the cost. He builds His church – not us.  Four12 Global Podcasts Mike Davies serves on eldership in Joshua Generation Church. He is married to Chantal, and they have two daughters. What is expected of elders' wives?   What can and should elders’ wives be doing in the life of the church? In this session, Mike emphasises that we each have a responsibility to exercise whatever gifts and calling the Lord has for us. We should all live in obedience to Christ, not the expectations of man.   *Disclaimer: As with any area of our lives, we need to maintain a healthy balance. The purpose of this session is not to see any person doing less than Jesus asks them to do. Our aim is to see all of our elders' wives understand that they play an invaluable part within the team and have a responsibility to exercise whatever gifts and calling the Lord has for them. Life should be lived in obedience to Christ, not the expectations of man nor the imagined obligations of the non-existent office of the 'elder's wife.'  Four12 Global Podcasts Mike Davies serves on eldership in Joshua Generation Church.
