George had a busy weekend gigging in the Midlands with two different tribute acts and eating too many burgers. We also chat about custom kick skins and whilst they’re great, they can make life hard when playing for multiple acts. Ben introduces his new kitten, Pearl, how to add some spice to watching University Challenge and a mystery accident in his pants. Formed in Birmingham, Alabama, ERRA are mainstays in the metalcore scene and have just released their seventh album ‘Silence Outlives The Earth’ on 6th March 2026. After a bit of money chat and Ben doing ‘the sensible thing’ by NOT buying a cymbal (sad face) we have a big discussion about drum charts and why we use them for functions and why we don’t for originals as George is looking to take his Lainey Wilson gig ‘offline’. We also discuss the new Evans Pull Cord Drum Key and TAMA are entering the lightweight hardware game. We also chat about George’s expensive trip to Graham Russell Drums including new skins for both kits and some sexy new hi hats. He’s also been playing around with his new Drum Dial but the ultimate question remains… 75 WHAT? Merry Christmas! It’s time for another Christmas Special and we’ve roped in old friends and returning guests Josh Rowe and Elliott Joseph for some festive fun. Whilst we look back at 2025 and ahead to 2026 we discuss what we think are the ‘coolest’ instruments, which tribute act we’d hate to play in, envy when watching gigs, learning piano and Josh’s book of band names. Hope you all have a great Christmas! But before that we chat about the winter gig blues; leaving the house when it’s dark, complacency, set list order and the worst version on Numb by Linkin Park ever played. Ben’s also been back to hospital to have a discogram performed on his spine and launched his new website drumcharts.co.uk where you can purchase digital versions of his one-page PDF drum charts.
