It’s the big 200! Have we done anything special to mark the occasion? Nah, it’s business as usual. George went to a gig with a menagerie of previous guests and gives us a rundown and vocal demonstration of the Taylor Swift tribute set he’s got coming up. Ben’s experiencing tech issues in the new studio and couldn’t get his cat to the vet. There’s been lots of good progress with Ben’s new studio; the neon sign is in, the drums are in but how effective is the soundproofing? There was also an evening trip to Southampton hitting his favourite stops of IKEA, the Lego store and the Apple store. It was not a cheap trip. George had one of the most chaotic gigs on the weekend and spent time at his work in the kitchen with Janusz from The Great British Bake Off. George has had a busy weekend gigging in Cornwall and Brighton, moving house and sort of completing a triathlon. He also made a very brief appearance on the Theo Von podcast as the real Lainey Wilson praised her UK tribute version. Ben did some gigs in Devon and Chichester, played around with Google Nano Banana and has had success defeating the scammers. After leaving The Old Blacksmiths Studios for the last time Ben had a busy few days gigging in Newmarket then driving back to Pompey then up to Cambridge on the train for a septuple celebration then a drive back to Pompey. While all that was going on George not only went to Victorious but blagged his way backstage and marvelled at the four reserved parking spaces for Kings Of Leon. We also chat about Reading and Leeds and drummer lookalikes. Enjoy! George is in France at a friend's wedding but we had a good chat before he left to discuss the big crowd he played to in Swansea and nostalgia at the Isle Of Wight festival. Ben had a wedding gig cancelled due to an ‘incident’ and after moving some heavy glass doors to the new studio we had a game of darts. George has been up to London to record drums for Swiss artist Aura Davis where he tracked the shells and cymbals separately and listener Bob stitched him up and sent him on a 6 hour journey to a gig in Windermere. The long journey was worth it in the end as George came up with an idea for an app and a guest played harmonica the entire evening. Ben’s been busy clearing out his studio, making deals with the GRuss Boys and popping into hospital for an MRI scan. Having been kicked out of their previous shared studio they decided to take matters into their own hands and build their own. Still under construction, the studios will provide drum practice rooms of various sizes for hire by the month or hour. Tom filled us in on how things are going there plus we chat about the recent news of Josh Freese’s departure from the Foo Fighters and why pigeons have such bad feet.
