alright. i made it to episode 4. and the opening of episode 4 is where the poor writing decisions really CASCADE to the point of no return. This Deckland character was horribly written from the start. He's so nervous and inexperienced and doesn't think he's the man for the job... so his next course of action naturally is to go mental and break all rules and put everyone at risk lol oh, new baby on the way? better break the sub as soon as possible lol wtf
after that monolog, are we really supposed to believe this captain character has a gf back home?
great show so far but, no spoilers, why would Maria give Declan the "big news"? What would be the point of telling him if the plan was the plan? I bring this up because it's poor character writing. This act turns Maria from just a backstabber into a total sociopath. Unless there's an angle I'm missing... Furthermore, points for realism i guess but Maria also is playing it totally straight. As in, the voice actress was very clearly NOT playing a character who cheated and is about to allow you-know-what to happen; in the first occurrences, she was so obviously playing a dedicated and worried wife. My suspicion is that the plot twist was written after the first couple episodes aired. Otherwise, if thats not how it happened, small piece of advice - we're not recreating real life; it's storytelling. If Maria is who she clearly is, then her first conversations were too convincing. It makes no sense to have the audience believe her because we look back and go wait wtf!? does this make any se
