This week is our 50th Episode! This week we have our usual storm watch with Liv half hoping we get to storm Olivia and the usual Telly Talk. Highlights include: Booksmart, The Trial of Christine Keeler and both of us have some odd discoveries, from the Icelandic Eurovision entry to Julian Simmons introducing Coronation Street back in 1998. Our main topic this week is books, we go through everything we have been reading (and not finishing it Liv’s case) in the last 6 months. We for the first time (definitely not the last) get to hear from you, our lovely listeners and find out what you have been reading too. Once again we’d really like to thank you for all your emails and audio clips. This week we have our first (hopefully monthly) Fridge Fantasy section where we discuss all the delicious things we’ve been cooking recently. Highlights include Liv’s husband Joe’s attempt at a pasta bake dish and Charlotte’s deep dive into the world of Linda McCartney products. Also we talk about everything we’ve been watch in Telly Talk. Our main topic this week is Weddings. We’ve talked about hem in past episodes but this week we wanted to talk about everything we’ve learned about wedding planning, dresses, food and venues. After seven months away we are back, with a bang or not is for you to decide. This episode we catch you up on everything we have been watching since we’ve been away....warning it's *a lot*. We take you through all the great TV we’ve seen with highlights including The Marvellous Mrs Maisel, Sex Education and we find out what each of our comfort blanket shows are. Liv even gets her Love Island minute, sort of. We also discuss all the great films we've been watching too, including our forever favourite Paddington 2, Marriage Story and we have a discussion which reaches peak shrill levels about Blinded by the Light, a jukebox musical featuring the music of Bruce Springsteen. We’re back! We took a longer break than planned over Christmas and the New Year but are now ready to go. This week we have a unofficial guest, our friend Carrie (Wish Wish Wish), which we think adds rather a nice dimension to our real life girls night when we recorded. We talk about A LOT of TV, last count was 15 different shows and films...it’s safe to say we’ve been been making the most of the hibernation season. We discuss everything from Mary Poppins Returns, Torvil & Dean and then question the latest Ted Bundy Netflix offering and question whether a platform should be given to the same people and crimes. Liv watches Charlotte’s favourite film, and Liv shares her TV guilty pleasure (Flirty Dancing anyone?!) Telly Talk Brooklyn 99Sex education The Fyre Festival Luther Torvil and Dean Grace and Frankie The Good Place Flirty Dancing Mary Poppins Returns The Favourite The Lobster Beautiful Boy BlackkklansmanThe Green Book Almost FamousCarrie’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wishwishwish/Carrie’s Blog: http://wishwishwish.net/ Hosted on Acast. Episode twenty six this series is a special one for us, as this season it marks the first with a very special guest- with our first being none other than the wonderful Gina Martin. Discussing everything from activism, changing the law and even knowing where to begin- we talk about everything from the House of Lords to As Seen On Screen, with some serious inspiration thrown in for good measure. Naturally, there's also extensive GBBO talk, with a sprinkling of wedding chatter and orangutan thrown in for good measure.Things Mentioned:The Insecure Girls' Club: http://bit.ly/2xh9ajcMrs Hinch on Instagram: http://bit.ly/2Ngaj4HTHAT Amazon Arm Toner: https://amzn.to/2pcWdCHCabbages and Roses: http://bit.ly/2NjTJ3AShrimps x Habitat: http://bit.ly/2OsbKtdAnd Our Guest:Gina on Instagram: http://bit.ly/2NiiCwzGina on Twitter: http://bit.ly/2NhalJfGina's Website: http://bit.ly/2CZ8ioFMunroe Bergdorf: http://bit.ly/2OrTXlPGina's Crowd Funding: http://bit.ly/2NO8J9l Hosted on Acast. It’s been a funny week. The Traitors has ended (to which Liv is so cross she invents a whole new word at the spoilers she encountered), Charlotte has realised the Bake Off is better when viewed with an 8 year old and also dives back into a sitcom that first aired in 1981, oh sweet nostalgia. And seemingly, nostalgia doesn’t end there this week. Oh no! Liv has fallen into the steamed pudding aisle (but not before she tucks into her chicken and leek pie) and forgoing summers Ice Lolly rankings- it’s time for the best high street soups- it’s all go! There’s also important cheese board chat, a big Christmas savings plan and Liv getting geese-bumps for this weeks very trendy item. You may well hear it here first! For soup suggestions, letters of support for Charlotte to watch Traitors series 2 (Gorton!!!) and any other sweet nothings, you can email us at thefringeofit@gmail.com or slide into our DM’s at @fringeofit. It’s an ordinary week. Charlotte, or should we say Mariah, is defrosting for Christmas and has the mood boards cooking. Liv is pondering if her house purchase of last year will serve her fittingly this firework night- oh, and Charlotte went… to a gig. A pop show! A rock concert! And has kindly supplied her tips on survival for those of us who prefer to not be out after 8pm.There’s also deep and meaningful thoughts about time, some trendy music (that’s us!), more chatter about Graham Norton than we could have anticipated (our real heartthrob) and important chat on why Charlotte could simply never be a Traitor. We also rhapsodise on what can only be a true piece of Strictly magic- but you’ll just have to hear it to believe it.For your favourite Strictly dances, additional Norton chat or simply some great pre-festive snacks, we’d love to hear from you! It’s a cosy autumn Thursday morning. There is talk of Charlotte’s full-bodied soup, roast hunting and Jack eating chicken once again on the horizon. But! That’s not all- Liv has discovered (arguably) her TV watch of the year, and wait for it, it’s on the wrong side of spooky- what could it be?! The girls’ are also joined by the wonderful Odessa Young ahead of the new Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere movie, and yes, they did manage a sausage and Debbie Harry chat with her (important). In other big and pressing news the chat of Boxing Day hosiery *finally* comes up (FINALLY) as well as Liv’s steer into practical dressing, inspired by Charlie Cooper- her new unlikely style icon.If you have a soup recipe worth writing home about, thoughts on *that* dip or anything else we should love to hear, our postbag can be found at thefringeofit@gmail.com and @fringeofit on Instgram! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It's... erm, chapter 4 and we are back with a... poot? Anyway- Charlotte is just about upright and out of the duvet and has some enormous news to share in the shape of her going from being Traitors curious to Traitors committed- what a time to be alive! In the giddiness of it all Liv shares her favourite Traitors anecdote not once but twice- you lucky devils! Plus, diving into the kitchen the girls discuss the best high street bagels, a soup that holds its own in the bin and there's some of the sexiest egg mayo chat you'll find this side of podcasting- don't say we don't spoil you. New episodes out every Thursday- it's good to be back, baby!If you'd like to recommend a great posh sandwich or a telly show worth watching we'd love to hear from you! Our email is thefringeofit@gmail.com or whizz us a DM at @fringeofit. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Like all good things, this season of The Fringe of It must come to an end... So here it is, your season finale! And to make sure they go out in style, Liv and Charlotte are together IRL to talk telly, food and everything in between. There's raincoat chat (Why do some have no hoods? Why aren't all hoods detachable? Why aren't coats the right length!?), there's Strictly chat (obviously), and there's a live tasting to whet your appetites. Liv and Charlotte will be back in a few weeks with a new season on The Fringe of It. And they'd love to have things to read! So message the show on fringeofit@gmail.com or message us at @fringeofit!And do tell your friends about the podcast if you've enjoyed this season. Dive in at Five people! Byeeee Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It's been a week and the girls are already requesting a polite refund on September. But! There's hope yet- isn't there? A promise of autumnal apple cakes, slow cookers, soups and oh, erm, never mind. Anyway! Liv finally, finally completed Love is Blind- and they have thoughts! Mainly Charlotte wanting to bellow 'you're a liar!' at strangers, but there are lots of thoughts nonetheless! There's also the discovery of a dream job they both feel very qualified for, a TV show they won't be sticking with and the return of sixties hair styles- you heard it here last!If you would like to please please send Charlotte a soup recipe for her repertoire you can email us at the fringeofit@gmail.com or message us at @fringeofit! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
As we slink into the 'ber months it's a week of all things marking the start of cosy season. Beans, Bake Off (even if, erm, there were some power naps) and the autumn classic...101 Dalmatians. Who'd have thought?! Is Glenn Close autumn's new Meg Ryan? Only time will tell...Plus, in a classic case of oversharing, Liv goes into a bit too much detail about her pre-podcast ritual, and despite swimming in Forest Feasts, it's a dictionary the girls appear to have eaten this week as there are new words a-plenty! Just don't make a furore about it!If you'd like to pop us a telly rec, great taste star claim or anything else, we love to hear from you! Pop us an email at @thefringeofit@gmail.com, or over on Instagram @fringeofit. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Does everyone look their very best at the end of August? Or, ahem, is it just Charlotte? (It certainly isn't Liv, let's put it that way). Regardless of whether you have new highlights, a tan and a fierce new passion for bingo or not- we want holiday chat, and we want it now! But it's not just French poolside anecdotes this week- oh no! The girls talk... transfer deadline day?...Grimsby's penalties? and oh... the worst TV review of all time from Liv (but she *has* started Love is Blind, so give her some grace). It all ends with a mammoth yawn session and a Great Taste star-off- what a round up to the week! If you'd like to email us next week or this week or during a week (IYKYK) then please do email us at thefringeofit@gmail.com, or @fringeofit on Instagram! Hosted on Acast. With Charlotte on her summer holidays (advice on how to find a partner with parents who retire to France within!) it's time to open up the electronic mail bag and see what's inside.Charlotte and Liv answer your questions on finding time for hobbies (or trying to manifest a weekly crafts club), share probably the best party theme that's every been thought of, and read our some listener telly recommendations. We'll be back next with regular programming, and hopefully many tales from sunny France (and suburban south London)! In the meantime, you can send in your own questions, party themes, or just about anything you can think of to thefringeofit@gmail.com, or you can send us a message on IG @fringeofit. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Did Charlotte just say… golf?! Not another hobby! Alas, it’s juts another obscure TV show from Charlotte (well worth it, in our opinion) as well as some serious culture-vulturing from Liv (did she just say… Proms?!) and a game that means you can reenact the Traitors at home. But don’t worry, we’re 100% faithful.Plus, in a twist nobody saw coming- Liv discovers a snack that approximately ninety nine percent of the population on earth already consume- and, not to gossip- but there’s a new boy in town for Charlotte in the kitchen area! Find out how he stole her heart (as well as which ice cream *could* be making its way to number one in the charts) all in this weeks episode.Plus, if you’d like to send us something for The Post Bag, we’d love to hear from you! Whizz any and everything across to thefringeofit@gmail.com, or of course over on our IG too @fringeofit.  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
A week of roses and thorns; from broken laptops, old appliances and planned obsolescence to holidays which could be Hinge adverts (Hinge! Hit us up!!), an afternoon floating and a first ever exclusive 1000/10 rating on The Fridge of It- it really isn’t all that bad! There’s also a trendy nut chat we’re sure you’ve all been waiting for, a liquorice rating (nope, this isn’t pensioners hour, STAY WITH US) and some serious keyring comparison. And that’s all before the grand planned snack swap is announced- could it be! What a week!If you have a series you’d like Liv to never complete, or a snack worthy of a rating higher than the above- we want to hear about it! Pop any and everything across to thefringeofit@gmail.com, or of course over on our IG too @fringeofit.  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It’s a week of sandwiches worth leaving the M25 for, big TV moments (which show has taken Charlotte on a journey this week?!) and a very apt realisation that Charlotte and Liv might well be podcastings Shrek and Donkey- the glamour! There is also imperative (and delayed) football chat. Did the Lionesses win? Come to us to find out… last! And a discussion on which supermarket is in fact *the* supermarket for foodies! There’s also a dollop of DMC’s with a big chat about navigating grown up friendships as well as some styling queries in the shape of excellent wedding dresses and shoes to boot. If you’d like to have us answer a question for ‘It’s Not For Me To Say’, or just have an excellent recommendation (fridge to film, we don’t mind) you can pop them across to thefringeofit@gmail.com, or of course over on our IG too @fringeofit.  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The throes of summer can only equate to one thing- and that means that dreams of a full Hallie Parker and Annie James summer camp are rife. For Charlotte anyway! (Just sans poker by the lake, of course). For Liv it’s trying to decode tennis post Wimbledon, trying the infamous Ben Shephard sandwich- and of course roping in her dad for a verified Papa P lunchtime sando review. There’s also all important foccacia chat (or, ahem, aerated bread), dip charting and an excellent telly recommendation which includes not only excellent nightwear but jaffa cakes too. Also this week- Charlotte sweeps in with NEW MUSIC! Is this… the NME?! She also looks for a friend to attend a Rufus Wainwright concert with, so no, this is not in fact, the NME. We’re also celebrating the our personal ‘well dones!’ this week with our little accomplishments and would love to know your wins from the week! If you’d like to send them over (either in swanky voice note form, or email) you can pop them across to thefringeofit@gmail.com, or of course over on our IG too @fringeofit.  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Cheese and wine nights? Jazz festivals? Yes, you did hear correctly! This episode comes to you following a week Nigella would be proud of. We know! Who ARE WE?! We have also rolled into the part of summer where Charlotte becomes a human buckaroo of accessories, and Liv reminisces over hair braid stories she’d sooner forget- oh summer, how we love thee!Heavy breathing to one side (apologies, dear listeners), the girls are also back with the slowest culture reviews in the biz! Forever championing longevity of the arts (or so they’re calling it), hotly anticipated reviews of Paddington and… Wicked are IN. And with Charlotte having finally heard Defying Gravity for the first time- it poses the question, where is the best place for singing out loud? From Vinted finds of the year and a chat about looking your age (which could have been another episode in itself)- no ground is left untouched! And, as always, we bloomin’ love receiving your wonderful emails, and if you have a snack suggestion or burning question for our new feature It’s Not For Us To Say (or just fancy sending us a delightful telly recipe too) you can pop them across to thefringeofit@gmail.com, and for courgette-to-Cawley themed carousels and VIDEOS (yes!!!) you can have a nosey on our IG too @fringeofit too. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It’s the height of summer, and it was only a matter of time before conversations turned to sexing up salads, growing courgettes and Charlotte beginning the search for The Great Ice Lolly of 2025. It’s also a a slippery slope back into sailor dressing- and with Liv having not done her homework (as well as saying ‘like’ approximately 10000 times), it begs the question- did you try your best or were you at a sample sale? There’s also chat of *that* Aidan scene (yes, that one), an Alex Turner impression for the ages and a big discovery of what can only be described as Shazam for birds- and put it this way, Charlotte can't move for tits in her garden! Are they millennial or geriatrics? Who can tell! One of our favourite things are receiving your wonderful emails, and if you have a burning question for our new feature It’s Not For Us To Say (or just fancy sending us a delightful telly suggestion) you can pop them across to thefringeofit@gmail.com, and for strawberry-heavy carousels and VIDEOS (yes!!!) you can have a nosey on our IG too @fringeofit too.
