Children seem to be at greater risk than ever of being recruited and used in hostilities. This exposes children to many harms, including conflict-related sexual violence.  Join Patrick Kumi, a youth activist in Uganda, and Erica Hall from World Vision as they explore issues around prevention, gendered risks and responses as well as ethical approaches in working with children who have been traumatised in their experiences of conflict.

Access to healthcare can be challenging for all survivors of sexual violence, but little is known about specific barriers faced by men, boys and/including LGBTI+ survivors in conflict and displacement settings. Join Eva de Plecker from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Lea from Lawyers and Doctors for Human Rights (LDHR) as they explore obstacles faced by these groups, discuss what constitutes a survivor-centred response and outline promising practises which reflect what an adequate response for these groups of survivors looks like.

This inaugural episode sets the agenda for the series by exploring the relevance and rationale for addressing conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) against men, boys and/including LGBTI+ people. The discussion helps situate this work within broader responses to CRSV against women and girls, who are disproportionately affected by this form of violence.
