Hi everyone, I’m Ryan Lund welcome to another episode of the Supper Club Social where we review restaurants, movies and TV shows and talk about Home bars, cocktails and pop culture with me as always as my cohost Roy Smith and riding third chair today is Charlie “get off my lawn” Mcinterny! Roy do you have any dust ups on the bus this week?  Before we get on to happy hour, I wanted to ask you guys something… #fall or #autumn and why does this season get more than one name when the others don’t? HAPPY HOUR Corpse reviver #2 Ingredients The Corpse Reviver No. 2 is a classic drink that belongs to a family of pre-Prohibition cocktails that were said to be created and consumed for the chief purpose of rousing the drinker from the dead—in other words, meant to cure hangovers, increase vigor and otherwise improve one’s morning. Corpse Revivers can be traced back to at least the 1870s, with many lost to the ravages of time. This version is the best known recipe, although the Corpse Reviver No. 1 (cognac, Calvados, sweet vermouth) is still in rotation today and enjoys occasional placement on bar menus. Like many Prohibition-era cocktails, the Corpse Reviver No. 2 faded into obscurity over the decades, but it was resuscitated during the aughts as bartenders looked to history for inspiration. Its adoption was driven by the drink’s inclusion in Harry Craddock’s “The Savoy Cocktail Book,” a seminal tome originally published in 1930 that introduced dozens of classic drinks to modern drinkers. Today, the Corpse Reviver No. 2 is a popular fixture at craft cocktail bars and an occasional option at brunch joints that embrace the drink’s ability to jump-start the morning. If you order one, remember that the cocktail is more potent than it tastes. When in doubt, heed Craddock’s warning: “Four of these taken in swift succession will un-revive the corpse again.” The absinthe rinse is a key component of the Corpse Reviver No. 2. A small amount of absinthe is poured into the glass, swirled around to coat the interior, then discarded. The result is a hint of absinthe that primarily comes through aromatically, or on the nose as you sip, but doesn't overwhelm the palate or throw the balance of sugar out of whack. The result is a tart, cold and refreshing cocktail—precisely what you need to either start or end the day. Why the Corpse Reviver No. 2 Still Works  The Corpse Reviver No. 2 features gin, Lillet blanc (a French aperitif), orange liqueur and fresh lemon juice, used in equal parts, shaken with ice and served in a glass that has been rinsed with absinthe. The base combination follows the standard "sour template" of cocktails, meaning it utilizes a base spirit in combination with a balance of sweet and sour elements, in the form of liqueur and citrus. Lillet Blanc is a fortified, aromatized wine that functions the same way vermouth does in countless other cocktails, helping to bind together and smooth out the ingredients while adding depth of flavor. - Liquor.com Absinthe, to rinse 3/4 ounce London dry gin 3/4 ounce Lillet blanc 3/4 ounce orange liqueur 3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed SHOT  Kamikaze Ingredients 1 1/2 ounces vodka 1/2 ounce triple sec Dash of lime juice Lime wedge, for garnish credit @servedbysammy Trending Streaming shows Gen V Loki season 2 Totally Killer Reptile The continental  No one will save you Star Wars Ashoka Fair play American horror story Haunted Mansion Hall of fame breweries top 6 The first round is to rule out, the absolutely nots. Roy - bus dust ups Lyle -  Ryan - 9:12 Segment of the Week SEGMENT OF THE WEEK (?’s of unknown, interview, game) Questions of unknown origin https://itsalovelylife.com/10-things-you-should-never-say-to-your-wife/   1. My mom does things this way… Your mom may be a wonderful woman, but you are not married to her. Please, respect your wife for the woman she is and the differences that make her special. 2. You’re acting like your mother… In truth, she may at times act like her mother, but she doesn’t want to be told that in a negative, condescending way, which not only is degrading to her but also her own mother. Not to mention these are fighting words. You’ve been warned! 3. Have you taken your medicine yet? Really, that is NOT helpful. If there is a medication that your wife can take to help her with a medical need, she doesn’t need it thrown in her face that she has something she is struggling with. 4. It’s my money. You are married. You share a home and a life. If you choose to keep accounts separate, make sure to share in the responsibilities. You are a team. You both share the burden and the benefits. 5. Why can’t you be more like… Comparison is the thief of Joy. Don’t compare her to an Ex-wife/girlfriend, movie star, or your best friends wife. She is not them.  6. You look fine. Fine is a very loaded word in a women’s vocabulary. It gives no true value or opinion. Please, let her know you care by taking the time to say a little more than “Fine.” 7. Maybe you should go on a diet. If your wife has gained a little weight or a lot of weight, she more then likely already knows that she has and is trying to deal with it in her own way. 8. What do you do all day? What she does all day is to take care of the children, the house, and many other responsibilities. Don’t think for a second that whether she works outside of the home or in the home that her job ever ends. Please, appreciate all the little things she does to keep your home in working order. 9. Stop talking. I am trying to watch the game (or playing X-box or Playstation). This is the loudest way you can tell your wife she is less important than the TV. Try kindly asking her if she could wait until a commercial to talk, and if not, pause the game or turn it off. In the end, it’s just a game. And two bonus things never to say to your wife… 11. Can’t you keep the kids under control? First, they are not just her kids. They are yours too. This comment puts all the responsibility of raising the kids on your wife. Children are not an inconvenience, they are a blessing from God. 12. I work all day. It’s your job to handle the kids. When you say statements like this, you imply that she doesn’t work at all. Children need parents who work together as a team giving them a stable home and loving environment. 0:00 Intro Hi everyone, I am Ryan Lund. Welcome to another episode of the supper club social where we review restaurants, movies and TV shows and talk about home bars, cocktails and Pop culture.. Roy - Lyle - Ryan - Cocktail HOUR @ Linda’s yurt. 2:00 Cocktail Hour Dorchester 1 1/2 ounces Beefeater gin 1/2 ounce Luxardo maraschino liqueur 3/4 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed 1/2 ounce grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed 1/2 ounce simple syrup https://www.liquor.com/dorchester-cocktail-recipe-5209797 At first glance, this cocktail, created by Erik Adkins for the eternally popular Slanted Door restaurant in San Francisco, seems like a cross between a Hemingway Daiquiri and a Last Word: You could say the gin replaces the former's rum, or that grapefruit takes the place of the green Chartreuse in the latter, along with some slight changes in the proportions. If you like both of those classic cocktails, you're sure to adore this new twist. Its bright flavors are lovely at any time, which may be why the cocktail has remained on the restaurant’s menu for many years. But it’s especially wonderful in wintertime, when grapefruit is in season and at its very peak. Be sure to use classic yellow grapefruit rather than pink; you’ll want the higher acidity in order to balance the sweet maraschino. #Home Bar updates. 19:51 Segment of the Week SEGMENT OF THE WEEK (?’s of unknown, interview, game) Questions of unknown origin The name George Washington evokes memories of America's first president and one of its founding fathers. He is remembered for his military leadership as well as his contribution to the country's early political development. Despite his many accomplishments, there was one thing George Washington did not know: the existence of dinosaurs. It's difficult to imagine a time when dinosaurs were not widely known. Children nowadays learn about these fascinating creatures from an early age, and there are countless books, documentaries, and even movies about them. However, when George Washington was alive in the 18th century, the concept of prehistoric creatures was almost unheard of. It's important to remember that studying fossils and discovering prehistoric creatures is still a relatively new field. The first dinosaur fossils were discovered and identified in the nineteenth century, and it wasn't until the twentieth century that scientists began to fully understand the breadth and scope of these prehistoric creatures. So, it's not surprising that George Washington, who lived in the 18th century, would have had any idea dinosaurs existed. In fact, most people at the time believed that the world was only a few thousand years old and that God created all living creatures in their current form. It wasn't until the early 19th century that scientists discovered evidence of extinct animals. A farmer in New York State discovered a set of large bones that he thought belonged to an ancient human in 1811. The bones, however, were quickly determined to be those of a mastodon, a prehistoric relative of the elephant - original.newsbreak.com

It is a stunning cocktail to look at and the most popular recipe to feature crème de violette. The floral taste is also captivating, and in a true old-fashioned style, it requires just a few ingredients. The combination of gin, cherry, violets, and lemon offers a fascinating flavor that is unique in the cocktail world. 15:37 Trivia Time SEGMENT OF THE WEEK (?’s of unknown, interview, game) Questions of unknown origin Lyles trivia 52:20 Outro
