Kevin is on a crusade against culinary trends this week, and matcha and hot honey on pizza are in the firing line. PJ’s heartbroken that he failed his NCT (mainly because he chickened out of leaving a bribe in the glovebox), even though he’s loving booting around Cork in the car.The speed of the drive from the northside to the southside even inspires the lads to call for unification of the two sides of the river in The Rebel City. The theme for this week is inventions, and the boys are unpacking some of the most influential inventions of all time. They’re also talking about inventions that we thought would take off but didn’t (3D glasses anyone?) and pitching some iconic ideas of their own. The lads are buzzing after their first tour date, despite PJ losing his voice on stage and having had a gang of firemen round his gaff responding to a faulty carbon monoxide alarm. Meanwhile Kevin is lamenting the fact that Carmit has been excluded from the Pussycat Dolls reunion tour, but decides that if Kimberley can get her leg above her head and do her famous tilt, all will be forgiven. For the theme this week, the boys are talking all about family feuds. From the Dunnes Stores saga to the world’s most famous elevator ride, we know that no family is immune to drama. They talk through some of the most common reasons for family fights, hear listener stories and discuss how to mend a rift. Kevin and PJ have been in their best goth drag this week, and they can’t stop thinking about how hot they both looked in black eyeliner! Getting their makeup done makes them think back on their experiences with stage makeup as children, and they also start planning a charity drag night: watch this space, girlies! For the theme, inspired by their upcoming Happy Campers shows, the lads are discussing all things tours: tour life, venue choices and the highest grossing tours of all time. From Taylor Swift to Coldplay, they can’t help but wonder what these artists are doing with all the millions and billions of bobs they’re making from touring the world. Kevin’s had enough of PJ’s journey of enlightenment and self-improvement, which isn’t helped by PJ telling us all about his day farming and learning to grow his own veg in Wicklow. In other news, Kevin has had his now infamous polyp removed, and luckily his anaesthetist was fairly easy on the eyes, girls. For the theme, the lads are discussing personality tests, specifically the Enneagram (which we now know has nothing to do with Scientology: phew!). Inspired by Amy Poehler and her Enneagram obsession, they take the quiz to uncover what personality type they are, and what traits they have in common. The lads are buzzing after their second appearance on the Late Late Show, and not even the abysmal Facebook comments can bring them down! They laugh at some of the worst ones, while also acknowledging the loyal girlies who always have their backs. They then turn their attention to the mortal enemy of healthy gut microbiome everywhere: the airport sandwich. Inspired by Bad Bunny’s recent Super Bowl performance, the theme for this week is celebrity activism. The boys discuss some of the celebrities who have advocated for causes throughout their careers, and wonder whether we expect too much from our pop culture figures. Oh, and they have to ask: what the heck is going on with Nicki Maga Minaj?!Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. Strap in girlies: PJ is giving us the inside scoop on the WhatsApp group dedicated to farts that he’s been added to this week, and it’s harrowing stuff. The boys also discuss all the tea from the new America’s Next Top Model documentary, including Tyra attempting to gaslight us all in her now infamous trenchcoat. In honour of International Women’s Day on March 8th, the lads are talking all about their favourite people: the girlies! The theme for this week is feminism, so Kevin has an excuse to talk about the ultimate feminist queen, Lisa Simpson, as well as the connection that gay men have to the women in their lives. They also discuss some of Ireland’s most impactful feminist icons and unpack common feminist stereotypes. WHO RUN THE WORLD? GIRLS!Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
This week Kevin enters his glasses era after discovering he has astigmatism and the lads spend a significant amount of time unpacking what this means for him personally, professionally and spiritually. While the realisation has shaken him slightly, mainly because it has forced him to confront the fact that youth is perhaps not as close as it once was, there are upsides. Chief among them is the discovery that wearing glasses may actually improve his flirting success rate. For the theme, Kevin and PJ dive into dating horror stories. From a girl whose date casually drove off in her car for twenty minutes leaving her stranded on a country road, to a man who spent an entire date aggressively eating wedges with greasy hands and an alarming number of ketchup sachets, the lads weigh in on the red flags, the survival tactics and the lessons learned.Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. This week Kevin and PJ are celebrating seven years of I'm Grand Mam. The lads take a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the highs, the lows and everything in between that’s happened since they first hit record. From chaotic early episodes to the milestones they never saw coming, it’s a proper sentimental moment… well, as sentimental as they allow themselves to be. Producer Sadhbh has also done some investigative work and listened back to the first five episodes, arriving with notes and a few pointed questions to see whether the boys still stand by some of the opinions they confidently shared seven years ago. Spoiler alert: growth has occurred. And because it would not be a celebration without them, Mam Knows Best makes a triumphant return as Phil and Nuala step in to offer their iconic wisdom and sage advice on listeners’ dilemmas.Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. This week the lads are pondering the benefits of taking on a bit of fixer upper when dating; the return on investment is tenfold, girls! They also discuss PJ’s grooming habits, and Kevin sings “boots, that’s my ego boost” approximately 704 times. Then for the theme, the boys are covering something near and dear to their hearts: the TV talent show. They reminisce on everything from Cher Lloyd’s iconic Halloween cover of Stay, to Ireland’s best talent show, You’re A Star. They also make some pretty big claims, including that Girls Aloud’s discography is better than the Spice Girls. Fight amongst yourselves in the comments, girlies. Kevin’s feeling a bit under the weather this week, and PJ’s advice isn’t going down too well. This week, the lads talk all about pretentious London yoga classes, hot instructors and PJ’s recent D.I.Y. successes, before unpacking the perils of cooking with chillies. Just an average day at I’m Grand Mam HQ!For the theme, inspired slightly by Heated Rivalry, they dive into double lives. Covering everything from Hannah Montana to spy Mata Hari and actor Rock Hudson, they realise that queer people can particularly relate to the idea of having a double life. They then read some listener stories and take one main thing away from them: having a double life would have them wrecked.Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. This week Kevin and PJ recount a tasting menu experience in Lisbon. While they fully respect the ethos of zero-waste restaurants, the lads admit that tackling fermented everything while severely hungover was not their finest moment and the very modest portion sizes did little to lift spirits. For the theme, they dive into the Brooklyn Beckham drama, sharing their thoughts, giving their two cents, and discussing how intimidating it must be to find yourself in a feud where your nemesis is, quite literally, a Spice Girl.Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. The boys are in Lisbon and as gorgeous as the city is Kevin takes a moment to criticise all the hills and cobbled roads that resulted in him falling off a Lime scooter en route to a Crossfit class. PJ reminisces on his chaotic 18th birthday party where fake IDs and stray fists were in plentiful supply. Prompted by this episode coming out on Blue Monday the lads have a discussion about made up holidays and ask why January is such a depressing month and Kevin puts forward a bid for dry January to be changed to a dry November going forward because the month is already horrendous enough as it is. They also make plans for celebrating I'm Grand Mam day which is happening on the 16th of February when the podcast celebrates 7 years in production. This week PJ reveals his new dream of becoming a DJ, while Kevin reflects on his time in dance college and the surprising amount of it spent battling vertigo after endless pirouettes. For the theme, the lads turn their attention to major world religions and ask the big question: if you were not born into your religion, would you actually choose it? With thousands of religions practiced around the world, and both of them raised in the Christian faith with plenty of Catholic guilt to show for it, Kevin and PJ explore different belief systems to see if any of them might tickle their fancy.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. This week PJ discovers that his mam has her priest’s personal number and has been quietly organising communion drop offs via Whatsapp while she’s been unable to attend mass with her leg, which raises several questions for the lads. There is also a live tasting of José’s homemade biscuits in studio and Kevin recalls the antics of his Crossfit Christmas night out.For the theme the lads share their ins and outs for the year. PJ declares contradicting yourself firmly in and WHOOPS officially out, while Kevin predicts that 2026 will be a big year for corn and but he says he'd like to see the end of the focaccia sandwich. This Christmas Kevin and PJ are back home in Cork for a very special charity episode recorded with Cork Penny Dinners. They sit down with General Manager Sharon Murphy to chat about the history of the charity and the incredible work it does not just at Christmas, but 365 days of the year. From providing hot meals to those who need them most, to expanding into a full community hub on James Street where people can learn IT skills and take part in social inclusion programmes, Cork Penny Dinners is at the heart of the city. Kevin and PJ also run around meeting some of the volunteers and big personalities who keep everything ticking and even get involved in a Christmas singalong. To support the work being done by Cork Penny Dinners, Kevin and PJ donated €1,000 to the charity. If you enjoy the episode and are in a position to do so, they would love for you to consider making a donation too and help support Cork Penny Dinners, which receives no government funding and relies entirely on generosity and community spirit. This week Kevin and PJ are chatting about letting hobbies stay as hobbies and not turning every interest into a side hustle. They also admit that just because something is homemade does not automatically mean it is good. While they may host a comedy podcast, the lads are keen to remind everyone that when it comes to shoots, they do in fact serve glamour. For the theme, they run through their Tops of the Year, covering everything from internet searches and music to Grindr tags and share what stood out to them most. They would also like to apologise to Kingfishr and their fans and would like to invite the boys to come on the podcast if they're not too busy.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. This week Kevin announces that he will not be putting up a Christmas tree in London, insisting he is done being the one who returns home first in January only to face the depressing task of taking down all the decorations alone. PJ immediately brands him a Scrooge, though Kevin maintains it is simply self-preservation. He also has a gripe to air about retail websites that promise ten percent off if you sign up to their newsletter, only to withhold the discount code for a full twenty-four hours, long after the impulse to buy has died.Because the lads feel there is far too much pressure to have a picture-perfect Christmas, they invite listeners to send in their own festive disasters. From uncooked turkeys to festive infidelity, they want to remind everyone that no one’s Christmas is flawless and we can all take comfort in the chaos together.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. PJ rants about the devastation he experiences living in an apartment block and coming home to a mountain of parcels and getting all excited only to discover none are for him. The lads also share their thoughts on Wicked: For Good, with Kevin unable to move past Elphaba wearing an Anthropologie knit cardigan during the only sex scene in the whole film. For the theme, Kevin and PJ dive into the current Celtic revival, chatting about the surge in love for CMAT, Fontaines D.C., claddagh motifs and the sudden obsession with “splitting the G.” While they adore seeing people embrace their Irishness, they cannot help but worry that the hype might be more trend than tradition.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. This week Kevin and PJ are feeling fragile as PJ’s back is in bits after a yoga class and the lads realise it is probably a blessing they do not have periods because they would absolutely never shut up about it. For the theme they dive into GLP 1s, prompted by the rise of Ozempic and Mounjaro. They chat about their own relationships with their bodies, the way fat people are treated in society and how Irish mothers are far more likely to compliment you on losing five pounds than saving a life. For support around body image, eating disorders, or related concerns, visit BodyWhysSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast. This week PJ has a few bones to pick with Kevin, starting with the fact that Kevin apparently does not shower. He claimed he had no time to wash after his CrossFit class, yet still managed to take a thirst trap and post it in the name of engagement. PJ also discovers that Kevin secretly sold the television they went halves on and forgot to tell him entirely. For the theme, the lads dive into Karen submission stories. One standout tale involves a girl who was meant to mind her friends cat for two weeks, but months later she still has it, her boyfriend is allergic and she has ended up with a vet bill of two thousand euro.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: https://www.patreon.com/imgrandmam ✨Purchase Happy Campers Tour Tickets here 🎟️Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content ✨ Hosted on Acast.
