Description

A podcast about EMS in the United States. Hosted by Jeff, Trey, Kenny and Steve, all working providers from across the United States. We all have different backgrounds and experiences to share with you and we think you will be able to relate to us. EMS is one of the greatest professions in the world but in the last decade it has been in a spiraling decline due to many factors. Some of these issues are beyond our control but adapting is easier said than done. More often though these issues are unnecessary and just plain unacceptable. Join us as we break talk these issues and much much more.

Flying Higher

Flying Higher

This week we talk about everything Flight EMS related. We dive into the world of the Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C). These men and women perform the same job as ground based paramedics and often even higher levels of care hundreds and sometimes thousands of feet in the air. Guest Will Eastman FP-C, takes us deeper into this often misunderstood and unique method of pre-hospital care.
This week I discuss the Paramedic School and the National Registry Exam with special guest Nate. Nate is a Paramedic and Medical Examiner Investigator in Southern Michigan. Nate and I dig deep into the ins and outs of Medic school, why they succeed and fail some students and why some have trouble just stay afloat. We also break down the recent decision of the wizards to scale down and eventually getting rid of the Paramedic Practical exam.

Of the many topics we cover on today's lengthy but awesome show, we discuss the current challenges faced by our Emergency Departments around the country during this public health crisis. Listen to how they are coping and adjusting and how that affects us in the EMS field and in the community. My guest is LJ Knight, a Paramedic and RN, who I have had the pleasure of working with at two agencies and who now, as well as continuing to serve on the streets as a medic, also works in the ED at a Level 1 Trauma Center in the middle of all the chaos. Join us today and enjoy.
The State Of Our Profession

The State Of Our Profession

This week's episode focuses on the state of EMS. Where we've been, where we are going and what it took to get here. My guest on this week is Robb, a licensed paramedic that I had the pleasure of going through medic school with and working with for a couple of years. We discuss many things like what we expected to encounter once we became medics, what we actually encountered out there and all of the twists and turns we had to learn to navigate along the way. From crazy scenarios we never thought would actually happen (but really did) to the ever challenging and changing world of the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us for the fun and strap in!
Welcome everyone to the very first episode of the show. Kick back with you cup of coffee or glass of finely aged whiskey and hear about what we aim to do with this craziness.
