We didn't really "Walk a Mile" so much as gymnastic-ed a mile. Olympic Gold Medalist and local gymnastics gym revolution starter Dominique Dawes invited us into her Rockville gymnastics and ninja gym. I definitely impressed her with my couch-to-balance beam skills, but we also had a thoughtful and thought-provoking conversation about how her experience with sports as a kid still informs her business and life to this day. Wolfgang Puck

Wolfgang Puck

Wolfgang Puck opened "The Source" in 2007 (RIP) and since he's been the only "celebrity chef" who doesn't live here to maintain an important presence in the DC dining scene. His latest spot "CUT" is inside the Rosewood Hotel. We had a mile long conversation stepping into topics like grit, Venus Williams, movie reviews, Elton John and the importance of Chef Andrew and his local team in Georgetown. You may hear me sounding a little breathless, because let me tell you. Wolfgang Puck is not an easy person to keep up with.

We had a mile long conversation from the MLK Library to what might some day be called Joe Biden terminal.
You can take the lady out of the CIA … Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) represents Virginia’s 7th District. We had a mile long conversation along beautiful Historic Occoquan on a very cold day. Listen how her CIA training hasn’t left her, the jams she listens to get work done, finding common ground on Capitol Hill, her daughter’s vote counting skills, and tips for surviving today’s political climate. Plus you’ll love how her husband gave her advice on the first campaign. Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger https://spanberger.house.gov/ About Historic Occoquan https://historicoccoquan.com/
The term "legend," "icon" ... "queen" gets tossed around a lot. Virginia Ali deserves every single one. She’s the matriarch of Ben’s Chili Bowl which is immensely important to the story of DC. We recorded our mile long conversation along DC’s U Street Corridor, historically known as Black Broadway. It’s where Virginia and her late husband Ben Ali built a restaurant empire, loving family and the deepest community connection.
Get ready for our second season! It’s going to be miles and miles of fun conversation. Give this preview episode a listen to find out some of the guests Tommy’s stepping out with. Thanks to DowntownDC for supporting Walk A Mile with Tommy McFly produced by Real Fun Content.
