Praise God for His LIVING and APPLICABLE word! Today’s episode covers “Biblical Education”. No, I’m not going to talk about homeschooling again haha, but I am going to go a little down the Charlotte Mason philosophy road! Children are born as WHOLE persons, so their education should NOT and does NOT only take place during school hours! Everything about life teaches us, so this episode is full of Scripture that can help us navigate educating our children in LIFE!Verse of the Week: Matthew 22:36-40, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets.”Follow, SHARE, and rate, please!
Join Luke, Jamee, and I this week as we have a formal “discipleship session”. Yes, it consists of songs, giggles, and bumping into the desk quite a bit. No, this is not what all of our conversations look like, and no, I didn’t have perfect, gentle answers for all of their questions (such as “Where did Ranger (our dog) go when he died?” or my favorite from the END of the episode, “Wait, what’s a Christian?” hahaha SIGH…)The point of this week’s episode is to encourage you! You won’t ever have all the answers, and they will NEVER stop having questions. Our job is to do our best, stay in our Word so we can disciple them, and guide them directly to the Word and to prayer so that they can start to find their own answers straight from the source. You are the parent! YOU have the most influence on who they become, so of course, lead by example (more is caught than taught!), but also open up the line of communication EVEN IF you aren’t confident in your “knowledge” yet. Neither are they! We get to learn alongside them :)Verse of the Week: 2 Corinthians 5:20, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”Follow, SHARE, and rate, please!
What if I told you “spare the rod, spoil the child” is NOT in the Bible, but an even worse alternative “he who spares the rod, hates his son” IS!? Of course, the rod isn’t what you may have been taught as a child… Let’s talk about what the rod is, when it may be necessary, how to keep our kids out of Sheol, and why we need parents to DISCIPLINE their children! Can I get an amen? 😅 Here we go with Biblical Conversations: Parenting - Biblical Discipline!Verse of the Week: Deuteronomy 6:4-9, “Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. You shall also tie them as a sign to your hand, and they shall be as frontlets on your forehead. You shall also write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.Follow, SHARE, and rate, please!
What are our favorite ministries to be a part of? What about our least favorite…? How does the Ramon Squad decide what ministries to support when we move to a new state (or country!)? Do we desire to be in leadership or part of the team more? How do we determine if we should step up or step down in any given season? All these questions AND MORE are answered in this week’s episode by myself and my sweet, quiet husband, Austin, who actually recorded with me for hours and hours over the course of this season! Here we go with Biblical Conversations: Marriage - Ministry Preferences and Leadership!Verse of the Week: Revelation 1:5-6, “To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood— and He made us into a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”Follow, SHARE, and rate, please! For early access (and access to every past season!) and tons of bonus content, join the Patreon for only $5/month! patreon.com/mamajessramon
What happens when a Christian marries a non-Christian? What happens when one spouse comes to Christ and the other doesn’t? What happens when one spouse has been a dedicated believer for decades and the other is a brand new Christian, struggling with the “simplest” doctrines? What happens when both spouses are believers, but one wants to sit on their salvation and the other wants to continuously grow in their faith? This episode is for all the single and ready to mingle, dating, engaged, and married folk, ESPECIALLY those who fit into those situations I just mentioned. These are complicated situations to walk through, and I don’t pretend to have all of the answers, but I do have some scriptures and a prayer. Believing spouse: You are never alone, and you have a tough but beautiful and an ETERNALLY significant mission! Unbelieving or new-to-the-faith spouse: You are loved, welcomed, and yes, I’m going to tell your Believing spouse to stop nagging you! Do me a favor and hear them out :) hahaVerse of the Week: 2 Chronicles 20:21-22 “When he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who sang to the Lord and those who praised Him in holy attire, as they went out before the army and said, “Give thanks to the Lord, for His faithfulness is everlasting.” When they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; so they were struck down.”Follow, SHARE, and rate, please!Links:patreon.com/mamajessramonwww.instagram.com/mama.jess.ramon/
Kudos to all the married couples who can study the same thing at the same time in the same way as their spouse! I wholeheartedly love that for you, that’s just not how our marriage works…This episode is for all the single and ready to mingle, dating, engaged, and married folk, ESPECIALLY those who are struggling to (or haven’t even considered trying to) intertwine their faith journey with their significant other. I had the idea that Austin and I would be studying the Bible (the same book at the same time with the same goal!) over a cup of coffee every morning before work… Yeah… That’s not EXACTLY what our faith walks look like, to say the least! Join me as I (hopefully) encourage and motivate you in this process :)Follow, SHARE, and rate, please!
Welcome to Season 6: BIBLICAL FAMILY CONVERSATIONS! I hope you all enjoy this season of broad (AND simultaneously specific) topics. We will be diving into scripture and discussing so many different things that God can do in our lives within the boundaries of His perfect Word!! This week, I’m starting with a whole bunch of statistics that I think prove the necessity of conversations like these. PS… “Ignore the upstairs neighbors” is going to be a common phrase until they move out, which could be soon depending on if the army decides to fix this major leak in their bathroom that leaks into ours OR if they decide to move them out like they did our last neighbors! SIGH hahahNever hesitate to reach out and ask me questions or even tell me where I might have misunderstood certain things! I love to grow in my knowledge and faith through things like this :)My Final Verse of the Week: Joshua 1:8-9, “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”Follow, SHARE, and rate, please!Links:patreon.com/mamajessramonwww.instagram.com/mama.jess.ramon/
And 2025 in general!!! My goal of reading 40 books in 2025 did NOT happen (barely!), but I tried! My reading WAS super intentional this year, and I hope to continue this trend into 2026, regardless of how many books I read… My goal is 30, I think… (Maybe my true goal is still 40, but my realistic goal is 30…)Anyways, I hope y’all enjoyed Season 5: Ministry! I will see y’all in 2026 for Season 6: BIBLICAL FAMILY CONVERSATIONS! Most of the episodes in Season 6 will include my hubby, which is super exciting, and then the patreon episodes will be scripture studies through contextual reading and Scripture Mapping! (If you don’t know what that is, I’m VERY excited to share!) My Final Verse of the Week: James 2:19, “You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.”Follow, SHARE, and rate, please!Links:patreon.com/mamajessramonwww.instagram.com/mama.jess.ramon/
It wouldn’t be a ministry podcast without a chaplain interview, now would it?? What y’all won’t hear in this episode is all the laughter from before we started recording… but what you WILL hear is us pretty much crying over and over, talking about God’s goodness in our lives! Garrison Chaplain (LTC) Arreguin and his beautiful wife, Aileen, physically stopped by my “recording studio” (homeschool room) this fall for this conversation. I had a few questions lined up, but I knew this would be one of the easiest conversations I’ve ever had. These two are the type of people that you just want to BE around! Give this episode a listen, and see what I mean! You’ll fall in love with them instantly! And if you weren’t here for Season 3: Ministry, you might have missed Aileen’s first episode, where we talked all about PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel). Find that episode linked below and give it a listen as well!Ivan and Aileen’s Verse of the Week: Philippians 1:6, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”Follow, share, and rate, please!Links: Aileen’s episode about PWOC: https://open.spotify.com/episode/3fDXa2BhqqXrLW1jDqQEta?si=DbyF6tydTwisC_KdLxkEVQChaplain Core website: https://www.army.mil/chaplaincorps
At our last duty station, I loved not only meeting and befriending Angelea, but her daughters and husband, as well. What a POWERHOUSE of a family in God’s Kingdom! I could go on and on about the impact that they have had in my life and the lives of the people around them, but that’s what this podcast is for! Please, enjoy this episode and take NOTES! This woman oozes grace and wisdom in all of her humility. She is a force to be reckoned with, in AND out of the church building. Also, if you want someone like her to mentor you in your pursuit of Christ and His Church, make sure to check out the links below!Angelea’s Verses of the Week: Leviticus 6:13, “Remember, the fire must be kept burning on the altar at all times. It must never go out.” and 1 John 4:18-19, “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. My friend, Jessie, is one of the most beautiful souls on this planet. If you don’t know her yet, you are genuinely missing out! She disciples her own three, sweet kiddos, prays fervently for her family and her community, serves and works in her local church tirelessly, and constantly reminds me what it means to be a daughter of the King. She came to faith as an adult, but she’s more spiritually mature than most “life-long” Christians I know. Take this time to listen to her speak about kids ministry, about church VOLUNTEER ministry, about motherhood, and about her genuine love of Jesus!Jessie’s Verse of the Week: Colossians 1:17, “And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”Follow, share, and rate, please!Links:Hers and Haley’s Episodes on Season 4: Homeschooling: https://open.spotify.com/episode/665T83TocREbAsawFNWSrC?si=-kO_6zppSI6DvKQi32TQdg and https://open.spotify.com/episode/4pJt26OLUR0ctZRLNTgCby?si=ZQOR8Uo_T_uEMsZISmyUSQ or https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/man-oh-man/id1603494162?i=1000710108721 and https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/man-oh-man/id1603494162?i=1000711015168 Mosaic Church (Clarksville and Stewart Country): https://mymosaic.ch/locations/
Pastor Garrette Milliken was one of my closest “church friends” back in my time at Mosaic. Him and his sweet wife, Leslie, are huge inspirations to me as a parent, a spouse, and a minister. Garrette and I served in Next Gen ministries and worked together for a little bit until he moved on to his current role as the senior pastor of Compassion Church in Waverly, TN. As you listen to this episode, you’ll agree: I couldn’t be more proud of their family as they navigate moving when God says to move (spiritually and literally move homes!), grieving their losses while also celebrating wins, and ministering above and beyond what’s expected of them at their church, all while being some of the best parents to their three sweet kiddos! If you haven’t yet, go listen to Leslie’s homeschooling episode after you listen to this one all about Garrette, his family, and his walk with God through different ministries.Garrette’s Verse of the Week: Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”Follow, share, and rate, please!Links:Leslie’s Homeschooling Episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/19M4aNuo34Q46nswiPbde8?si=FPp-8S3eSq-17lpvdKJT-Q or https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/man-oh-man/id1603494162?i=1000715294103Compassion Church site: https://compassionwaverly.cc/
Mama Marlena is back! This time, she’s here to chat about ministry, her different roles in different churches and ministries over the years (yes, we touch on being a woman in ministry!), and her most recent ministry endeavors to include a virtual assistant business based in the Philippines! God is SO COOL. Marlena Hollis Ministries has impacted my life in so many ways, including a Sacred Spaces Retreat, her devotional book That’s Mine!, and obviously through her, her daughters, and my sister-in-Christ, Becca, loving and caring for my family time and time again with their time, energy, and prayers! I can’t recommend Pastor Marlena enough as a mentor. If you’ve been sitting on the fence about digging deeper into any ministry… reach out to her yesterday! If you don’t know my friend Jerusha yet… What are you even doing?! It’s beyond time that we had this chat! Jerusha runs Chavah Wellness, a holistic health ministry for all women, where she has a podcast, a course, and more, all pointing towards TRUE whole body health. She knows God created us with bodies that are meant to THRIVE, not just survive, and in this interview, we talked about how God gave her this vision, how she balances parenting and ministry, and how we can faithfully walk in what God hands us!Jerusha’s Verse of the Week: Galatians 6:9, “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. This week, we’re starting off our Season 5 interviews strong with Pastor/Representative Aron and Pastor Elizabeth Maberry! This power couple was my boss… bosses (!?) back at Mosaic Church in 2023/24, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experiences I had there. Listen in as we reminisce, learn more about their ministry journeys, and laugh a LOT as they give insight and wisdom for those interested in ministry or those who want to know more behind the scenes of mega-church staff life. Aron and Liz’ Verses of the Week: 2 Corinthians 5:17, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” and 2 Corinthians 4:18, “So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”Follow, share, and rate, please!Links:Rep Maberry: https://votemaberry.com/Mosaic Church: https://mymosaic.ch/
And so it begins… Season 5, all about ministry! This season, I have interviewed 9 ministers of all types. We will talk to megachurch pastors, a holistic health coach, a chaplain and his wife, the senior pastor of a thriving church, a kid’s pastor, and more! All of these people are my friends, my church family, my community. I literally couldn’t be more blessed by the people God has surrounded me with. I hope you guys gain from these upcoming conversations as much as I did! This week, though, we’re going to start off with just me, getting into the book of James and some things God highlighted to me before I got involved in ministry over here in Germany… My Verse of the Week: James 3:6, “And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.” Follow, share, and rate, please!Links:Patreon: patreon.com/mamajessramonInstagram: www.instagram.com/mama.jess.ramon/

Thank you Ruthanne for sharing your journey (thus far… only a couple more years to go!) and for encouraging students and parents alike that homeschooling IS worth it. We just have to stick with it, find community, and trust God! In case you missed last week, I also got to speak with Ruthanne’s mom, Marlena. I’d say it’s working out for them!Ruthanne’s Verse of the Week: 1 Corinthians 2:9, "That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, 'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.'"Follow, rate, leave a comment/review, and share, please!
