In the 5th episode of season 2 of the granpod, fellow musician BUZZKILL (usually known as Alex) and I have a discussion about the hypothetical question of how many eighth graders we could beat in a fight, before getting into a more in depth conversation about how he got into grandson and about his own music. Then we play "The End and The Beginning" where he has to guess the grandson song using only a few words before we buckle down and discuss the current alarming political state in Germany and the US (as the situations aren't so different). Disclaimer: NO 8 YEAR OLDS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS EPISODE!!! In the 4th episode of season 2 of the granpod, one of my best friends Leo (they/them) joins me for a ~Halloween Special~ where we choose new bones (by Imagine Dragons) for our bodies and talk about what it was like for them following the tour over the summer with two other grandkids on a journey dubbed "the granvan" all while dressed as our favorite demon/angel duo. Then we play a game that involves combining two things we love (Good Omens and grandson) and then proceed to talk about the former for far too long in what could at this point be considered a propaganda campaign to get you to watch Good Omens (which you should).

CONTENT WARNING!!! The Deep Dive Topic of this episode does relate to depression/anxiety and the thoughts that stem from being a person that lives with these. This discussion takes place between 1:22:12 and 1:34:15 if you would like to skip it but still here about the charity we shoutout for resources!!! In the 3rd episode of season 2 of the granpod, Mothica joins me for discussions about music, both from the perspective of a creative and as a fan of music as well as a candid discussion about mental health and channeling that into creative endeavors. I also bring her up to speed on the grandkid "is tea a soup" debate lore, show her my grandson impression, and do a fun spin on google granslate with Mothica lyrics!!! Special thank you to Daisy for suggesting Mothica to come on the podcast!!! I appreciate you endlessly!!!
In the 2nd episode of season 2 of the granpod, Nick and I discuss whether we'd rather have leg-sized fingers or finger-sized legs, look back on his experience in the Great Granpod Election of 2022-2023, and I get some purely self-serving revenge for the game of the anniversary episode. We also dig deeper into how he found grandson and get a glimpse into the shows he's been to, I let him giddily ramble about motorsport for a good 15 minutes, and laugh a lot along the way.
RIP Benny Harvey, gone but not forgotten. Miss you mate.
In the 7th episode and final episode of season 1 of the granpod, Theo and I choose which fruit we think would make the best president, play a game involving comments on grandson music videos, and briefly discuss the granpod election it is participating in this year. We also converse about the state of concert crowds in the post-quarantine age, reminisce on the night we finally met in person, and throwback to the "@grandsonsucks" days as that's when they found grandson!
In this episode of Over-Granalyzed, Nyla discusses grandson's music videos including the characters Jordan has played in the music videos, how they are connected, and how the DOAO and Modern Tragedy are more related to one another than they seem.
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode does briefly discuss recent events involving school shootings. Proceed with caution. Timestamps for skipping that section will be provided on the granpod's social media accounts. In the 5th episode of the granpod, Naomie and I engage in conversation surrounding how the grandkids feel like family, the chaotic energy that is exuded from both the grandkids and grandson himself, and some awesome past grandson collabs. We also give some insight on what it's like to meet gran, discuss the concept of "rainbow capitalism" in relation to pride month, and discuss what grandson songs fit which D&D alignments. This is technically a re-record due to a slew of technical difficulties causing the first version of this episode to be lost in the void.
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode does dive into the current ongoing Russian/Ukranian war and has brief mentions of acts of violence being committed to civilians in both countries. Proceed with caution. In the 4th episode, Anya watches as I scrape the update accounts for any inkling of grandson news during our drought and we discuss unlock some grandkid nostalgia. We also play “ABC-DOAO”, have a candid discussion about the Russian/Ukranian war from her perspective as a Russian native, and give some advice about feelings of self-doubt and being open about your feelings!
In this 3rd episode, Jais and I talk about all of Gran’s upcoming shows (DOAT may be ending soon but the party doesn’t stop!), discuss how awesome the grandkids are, and take a trip through Malaysian culture through food and community. We also play “Google Grans-late”, have a discussion about how to right your wrongs in a genuine and honest way , and giggle way too much.
In this first episode of Over-Granalyzed, the granpod's new bonus series, host Nyla will explore a question posed from a line in Welcome To Paradise // Outro, using other Death Of An Optimist tracks to further their arguments.  Welcome to Paradise? More like Welcome to Over-Granalyzed.
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode does dive into EDs (eating disorders). If you are sensitive to these topics, please head to the granpod twitter account (@granpod) for time stamps. In this Death of a Tour Special™, I sit down with Bethany, my dear friend and creator of the Grandkids on Tour instagram project and concert-going pro, and talk about my very first grandson show, grandson's arena shows opening for Imagine Dragons, and dive into some our favorite songs from the openers on the upcoming Death of a Tour. We also reveal our dream setlists, have a serious conversation about something that often flies under the radar, and encourage you to block your mom!
This is the very first episode with our very special guest: Manon! Manon is the admin of the grandson news account and is one of the grandkids I've made friends with over the last couple of years and I was more than excited to have her be our first guest! In this episode we talk about how she started updating about grandson, the upcoming DOAT shows, discuss the upcoming single "Kult" (before we knew it was a single), upcoming the French election, and what sets the grandkids apart from other fandoms in the alt-rock space. We also do a bit of trivia, give some love advice, and have some laughs along the way.
This is the official trailer for the granpod, a podcast hosted by Nyla as a way for the grandkids to connect with one another. It is with open arms that I welcome you to the granpod!  Note: This is a fan podcast. I am in no way affiliated with the official grandson team or Fueled By Ramen. That'd be sick, though.
In this episode of Ove-Granalyzed, Nyla provides concrete(ish) evidence that the jolly man in the big red suit is actually a familar face: X. Join them in this journey of analyzing both songs from DOAO and some iconic Christmas songs, rambling, and tangents as we get to the bottom of why X and Santa have never been seen in the same room at the same time.
In the 6th episode of the granpod, Saul and I chime in a popular internet debate concerning soup, reminisce over past shows we've been to, and play a game that we played in line for LA DOAT. We also discuss both some fun facts and the state of the political scene in El Salvador and thank Mike Shinoda for leading us to grandson, all while testing a slightly new podcast format.
