Everyone wants a successful business, but not everyone is willing to do what it takes to actually build one.In this episode, I share a story about my kids, but it really speaks to something I see all the time with people who are thinking about becoming sleep consultants. It’s easy to look at someone else’s success and want the end result. It’s much harder to accept what it takes to get there. There has to be a phase where you are figuring things out, finding your voice, and putting yourself out there before you feel ready. You have to be willing to do things over and over again before things start to click. Most people don’t fail because they can’t do it. They stop because it feels uncomfortable, or it's taking longer than they expected. If you’ve been thinking about becoming a sleep consultant, ask yourself this honestly… are you willing to start before you feel ready, and keep going even when it feels hard? The consultants you’re looking up to did not achieve success overnight. They put in the time, the effort, and the work. I can guarantee that there was a certain level of grit and persistence at play. You can absolutely build what they have built, but you have to get started, and you have to keep going. If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
There is a lot of pressure in the online space to sound right. To say things perfectly. To figure out the exact words that will land, connect, and convert. But what if finding your voice isn’t about getting it right… it’s about using it?In today’s episode, I’m joined by Rachel Lubchansky for a conversation about what it really looks like to find your voice in your business, and why this is something that evolves over time.We talk about the internal shifts, the external noise, and the process of learning to trust yourself as you show up and communicate with your audience.Because the goal isn’t to sound like someone else. The goal is to sound like you.I hope you enjoy this conversation!Links:Website: https://www.rachel-lubchansky.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rachel.lubchansky/If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
If you’ve been waiting to feel “ready” before starting something new, this episode is going to challenge that thought.Today I’m joined by Stella, a full-time corporate professional, mom of two, and certified sleep consultant through Center for Pediatric Sleep Management. Stella is just five months into her business and she’s already supported 20 families.Stella didn’t wait for everything to be perfect before getting started. She took action, figured things out as she went, and put herself out there even when it felt uncomfortable. In this conversation, we talk about how she landed her first clients, how she’s using social media in a way that actually works for her, and what it looks like to move through imposter syndrome instead of letting it hold her back.Stella shares honestly what it looks like to juggle a full-time job, two young kids, and a growing brand new business. If you’re on the fence, this episode is your reminder that you don’t need to have it all figured out to get started. You just need to begin.Links: Website: https://www.stellarbabysleep.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stellarbabysleepIf you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
Every once in a while I get to record an episode that feels especially meaningful, and this conversation is one of them.Today on the podcast I’m talking with Sam, someone I’ve actually known since we were babies. Life has a funny way of bringing things full circle. Years after reconnecting during her pregnancy, Sam found herself searching for something that would give her purpose beyond the day to day of raising a toddler. That search ultimately led her to become a certified sleep consultant through CPSM.What I love about Sam’s story is how real it is. She didn’t launch with a polished website or a big marketing plan. In fact, she still doesn’t have a website. She signed her first client, supported that family really well, and referrals naturally followed. Today she’s working with multiple families at a time, building her business around her busy life as a new mom.In this episode, we talk about what it actually looks like to start a sleep consulting business in real life: the fears that come with becoming an entrepreneur, the learning curve that happens in the early months, the importance of boundaries, and how meaningful it is to find work that truly lights you up.If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s possible to build something for yourself while still prioritizing your family, Sam’s story is a really powerful example of what that can look like. And if you’re someone who has been sitting on the fence, feeling excited about this work but also scared to start, I think you’ll find her perspective especially encouraging.

This week on the Becoming a Sleep Consultant podcast, I’m joined by Yvonne for a very real conversation about entrepreneurship. We’re talking about the emotional rollercoaster. The slow months. This week on the Becoming a Sleep Consultant podcast, I’m joined by Molly, a former nurse and women’s health professional who is just months into her journey as a certified sleep consultant and already building some real momentum. In this conversation, we talk about what it really looks like to move from “I’m thinking about it” to actually getting started. Molly shares about pushing through imposter syndrome, finding the courage to put herself out there, and learning to believe in the value she brings to families. We also dig into the mindset behind early business growth and the personal growth that happens when you begin to believe in the possibility of your own success. If you’ve ever felt stuck, behind, or unsure whether you’re ready to get started, this episode will remind you that confidence is built in motion and that you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.Links:Website: https://sweetsleepandwellness.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sweet.sleep.midwife.molly/If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
This week on the Becoming a Sleep Consultant podcast, I’m joined by Phyllis, a former teacher, school social worker, daycare owner, and mom of four who is now building a thriving sleep consulting business.Phyllis shares what it’s looked like to start over professionally, how she leaned on decades of experience with children and families, and what she’s learned in her first year of business. We talk about the steep learning curve of entrepreneurship and how she’s grown by leaning into her strengths instead of forcing herself to market like everyone else. You’ll hear how she’s built her business largely through in-person connections, local partnerships, and referrals, and why that approach has worked so well for her. It’s a really encouraging example of how experience, warmth, and consistency can carry you far in this work.Links: Website: https://beyondsleepsolutions.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beyondsleepsolutions/If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
This week on the Becoming a Sleep Consultant podcast, we are talking about something that does not get discussed nearly enough in our field, and that is the emotional side of coaching families through sleep.Supporting parents through sleep challenges is not just about wake windows and schedules. It is about holding space for big feelings, uncertainty, exhaustion, and sometimes even grief and anxiety. And as sleep consultants, we have to learn how to stay steady in the middle of all of that.I am joined by CPSM grad Ali Manning, a pediatric sleep consultant who specializes in gradual and parent present approaches for families who feel nervous about sleep training. Ali shares how her own journey into sleep consulting shaped the way she supports parents today, and how her coaching style has evolved over the past three years in business. In this episode, we dive into the concept of “sturdy coaching.” We talk about what it really means to hold space for parents’ emotions without absorbing them, how to avoid jumping in to fix every feeling, and why our confidence and calm presence can make all the difference for the families we serve.Ali also opens up about the learning curve she experienced early on, the moments that pushed her to grow, and the mindset shifts that helped her stop taking client struggles personally. If you have ever felt emotionally drained by your work with families or questioned whether you are doing enough, this conversation will feel both validating and grounding.Whether you are brand new to sleep consulting or years into your business, this episode is a powerful reminder that being a great coach is not about eliminating discomfort. It is about learning how to remain confident and sturdy while guiding families through it.Links: Website: https://www.snugglesandslumber.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ali.manning.sleep.coach/If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
Today’s episode is all about what it means to get a strong start. So often, I see people finish their training and feel like they need to pause. They wait to feel more confident, more experienced, or more “ready” before putting themselves out there. But momentum doesn’t come from waiting. It comes from taking action. My guest today is Alyssa, a recent graduate of the Center for Pediatric Sleep Management who took that idea seriously from the very beginning. She moved forward with intention, focused on progress over perfection, and built early momentum in her business. In this conversation, we’re talking about the mindset required to start strong, the moves she made to create traction early on, and why believing in what you’re building matters just as much as the strategy behind it.If you’re at the beginning of your journey or wondering how to kick your business into high gear, this episode will give you a lot to think about.Links: Website: https://www.aasleepconsulting.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/aasleepconsulting/If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
In this episode of the Becoming a Sleep Consultant podcast, I’m digging into a topic I see come up constantly in professional communities and Facebook groups: how to build a career that allows for real work-life balance.I share how I’ve approached my career with the belief that feeling stuck is never the end of the story, why I walked away from a demanding role once it no longer aligned with motherhood, and how building a business around my life changed everything. In this episode, I explore:• Why feeling stuck is often about comfort, not lack of options• What it really looks like to design work around your life instead of the other way around• How choosing flexibility and autonomy changed the way I work, parent, and live my life.If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
I hired a copywriter to help rewrite my emails, and instead of gatekeeping that experience, I invited her onto the podcast. Why? Because email marketing is one of the most underused tools I see in the sleep consulting space, and it’s also one of the most powerful when it’s done well.In this episode, we talk about:• Why email marketing matters even if your list is small• Why sounding like yourself is more important than sounding polished• How consistency builds trust, authority, and referrals over timeOne of the things I loved most about this conversation is how much we focused on clarity and voice. You don’t need to sound like a marketer. You don’t need fancy funnels. You need to communicate clearly, and articulate your value. If you’ve been sitting on an email list without actually putting it to use, or you’ve been overthinking what to say and when to say it, this episode will provide the jumpstart to get you going.Links: Freebie: https://www.kindcopy.uk/consultant-emailIf you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
I don’t remember my first client’s name.I barely remember the details of her sleep plan. But I remember exactly how she made me feel. This mom was the first person who ever paid me to support her family as a certified sleep consultant. Her six year old had been bedsharing for years, struggled with separation anxiety, and had never learned how to fall asleep independently.I had the training. I had the certification. What I didn’t have was experience with big kids or confidence that came from doing the work. And yet, I showed up. I leaned on what I knew. I coached her with intention. And together, we helped her daughter gain independence, confidence, and better sleep. What stayed with me all these years later is not the method we used or how long it took. It’s the way that first client trusted me. The way she valued my guidance. The way that experience made me realize, “I can do this.”This episode is for anyone who feels like they don’t know enough yet.For anyone staring at their first client thinking, “What if I mess this up?”For anyone learning something new and wishing confidence would arrive first. It doesn’t.Confidence is built by doing the work, not before it.If you are committed to learning, showing up fully, and supporting families with care and professionalism, you will figure it out. Every single time.If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
Sometimes we are our own biggest roadblocks on this journey through entrepreneurship. We have big ideas, we dream up big plans, but then our own self-doubt and fear of failure creeps in and we hold ourselves back. I was chatting with a prospective CPSM student who expressed that her only hesitation in enrolling in the program is the business piece. She has never started her own business and that feels scary and overwhelming. She knows she will be great at supporting families, and she is passionate about healthy sleep habits for children, but what if she fails? Well, you can’t succeed if you don’t even try! On this episode of the Becoming a Sleep Consultant podcast, I share: - That the irony around fear of failure is that if you are so afraid to fail that you don’t even try, then you failed before even getting started! - How we can relate these feelings we have as sleep consultants back to our clients. When our clients are finally ready to make a change, and try to teach their child to fall asleep in a new way, that’s when they can have a really meaningful transformation! - When you say yes to yourself, that’s the very first step on your new adventure. It’s sometimes scary, always thrilling, and entirely worth it!
On today’s episode of the Becoming a Sleep Consultant podcast, I am joined by Allison Henderson, business coach and social media strategist who specializes in helping sleep consultants grow their client base both locally and online. She blends practical strategy with mindset and energetic growth practices, helping her clients build sustainable businesses and, for many, replace their corporate income. As we wrap up 2025 and look ahead to 2026, we focused this conversation on goal setting and intention setting for service-based business owners. We talked about where to start when goals feel overwhelming, how to think about money without guilt, and why clarity and consistency matter more than chasing every strategy you see online. This episode is especially relevant for sleep consultants who are wanting their goals to support both their income and their lifestyle. Alison shares practical ways to turn intentions into action, stay focused on what actually works, and tune out the noise that can lead to comparison and burnout. If you’re heading into the new year thinking about how you want your business and your life to feel, you’re going to love this conversation!Links: Website: https://www.allisonhendersoncoaching.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/allisonhenderson_coach If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
This week on the Becoming a Sleep Consultant podcast, I’m joined by Deb Pocica, a postpartum doula who added sleep consulting to her business and saw an immediate shift in the way she could support families. In this episode, we talk about:• Why sleep consulting is the perfect complement to postpartum care• How sustainable systems can prevent burnout for doulas and sleep consultants• What expanding your services can mean for both your income and your energyThe truth is, postpartum care often ends right when families need continued guidance the most. Sleep consulting fills that gap. It extends support beyond the newborn phase, strengthens relationships, and positions you as a long term resource instead of a short term solution. If you are a doula or newborn care specialist thinking about how to grow, diversify, or prevent burnout in your business… this episode will give you a lot to think about.Links:Website: https://www.debpocica.com/ If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry

With each year in business, I’m reminded that flexibility is the most meaningful return on investment. This week on the podcast, I’m reflecting on the quieter parts of entrepreneurship — the moments that don’t make the highlight reel, but absolutely shape the way I live and work. The ability to shift my schedule when life calls for it…To be present for my family without sacrificing momentum…To rest when my body needs it…And to run a thriving business from anywhere. These are the freedoms I’m most grateful for — and they’re the reason I built my business the way I did.Inside this episode, I'm sharing:• What true flexibility looks like as an entrepreneur• How to build a business that bends around your life• The small, everyday moments that matter most• And real stories of CPSM grads who have created this same freedom for themselvesIf you’re craving more control over your time, your energy, or your day-to-day life… I hope this episode gives you the encouragement you need to go after it.If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
In this week’s episode of the Becoming a Sleep Consultant podcast, we’re diving into a topic that so many entrepreneurs, parents, and busy people struggle with. How do you manage your time well, stay productive, and avoid burnout? I invited time management and productivity coach Ronna Belinky to join me because this is something that comes up again and again in our community.Ronna specializes in helping people build simple, sustainable systems so they can manage their days with more intention and less stress. She focuses on awareness, habits, and clarity rather than trying to cram more into an already full schedule. Her approach is all about creating routines that support your life instead of adding pressure to it.In our conversation, we talk about where to begin when everything feels important, how to create systems that actually work for you, and what it looks like to build your business in a way that feels steady and sustainable. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, distracted, or unsure how to prioritize, this episode will give you clarity and a practical path forward.Links: Website: https://www.workflowsbyronna.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/workflowsbyronna/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ronna-belinky-701021265/If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Sleep Consultant, please join our Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/becomeasleepconsultantCPSM website: https://thecpsm.com/Book a free discovery call to learn how you can become a Certified Sleep Consultant here: https://jaynehavens.as.me/CPSM-Inquiry
