Pod Summary Wassup world. This week we’re back with another explosive episode featuring two entrepreneurs who have been trailblazers in their industries for years. Crystal (@mars2leelu) is the founder of Lifted Yoga, a 420 friendly approach to the world of wellness. Not to mention the culture king, CEO Mikey (@ceomikey). As the host of his own podcast, Bulture Podcast, and no stranger to the entertainment industry, Mikey set the internet on fire with his takes on some of our subjects. We touched on everything from the importance of the Selma, Alabama dock fight to the power of Beyoncé. Is there an agenda to push the LGBTQ community ahead of naturally born women and heterosexual men? Who’s to blame for the youth violence raging throughout the country? Tory Lanez gets seven years and all the rappers are telling on each other. Somehow even Tupac and the aliens made it back to the headlines again and nobody cared. This episode took a hundred twists and turns for a great show. Follow both guests on social media and subscribe to our YouTube channel to view the full series. Be back soon.
DC wassup. East Coast wassup. We international and most importantly WE BACK! After much anticipation the greatest show on earth has returned for a brand new season and episode didn’t disappoint. Fresh off the local headlines, DMV club owner and all around business man, Kenny Busta Move, set down with our host, D.Floyd to discuss the recent events that have put him front and center into the blogs and social media platforms. We discussed his origins in becoming a successful entrepreneur (6:00) and growing up in the DMV. Eventually the conversation tapped into what’s more important, the “face card or relationships” and the differences between money and clout (12:45). Salute to Sha’Carri Richardson on her world class performance breaking records and inspiring the world. We touched on that as Kenny broke down how to capitalize from YouTube and Social Media in the public eye. (19:00) Of course we addressed the elephant in the room and Busta Move’s ongoing online rivalry with DMV rapper turned internet sensation, Ant Glizzy. Everything from the Davy Ruffin fight to a fight in a T-Mobile store made it to the session (34:00). Floyd changed gears in the end to discuss the internet versus the streets and the effect culture vultures in media have had on real life events (49:05). All in all this is an episode that you don’t want to miss. Nobody else will. Things take a turn when Floyd calls out (12:20) Media Prince, Made In The DMV and DMV Hoodz N Newz, questioning if the companies are rigging local competitions and lists. The Media Prince finally tells all on the 2020 Clubhouse Scandal (24:00) where he was caught in a viral moment and accused of fraud during the pandemic, leading to his book, “And Then I Was Cancelled”.  How important is the team when things get slow ? We're back again with a new HT that can't be missed. This week a legend in a few games came to chop it up with our host, D.Floyd in the smoking section. After being institutionalized most of his early adulthood , Charles King, affectionately known as "Boobie" , made a conscious decision to transform his life into a true instrument of hope. As an activist, mentor, mediator, entrepreneur, philanthropist and father, Boobie has become a standout as a leader in the efforts to reinstill hope in the neighborhoods that once taught him to be a man. As the founder of Helping Others With Life, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting underserved communities, and an ambassador for the Meek Mill backed,"Reform" , HT took every turn imaginable. King painted a vivid picture of life in DC at the height of the Murder Capital era in the 80s and 90s while Floyd explored the differences from those times compared to today. From policies, policing and principles, this conversation is something you need to see. New week. New dope in the streets. This time HT is back with another classic conversation from our host D.Floyd. Our guest in the smoking section really doesn’t need an introduction. As one of the originators of what many have described as the “DMV Flow”, Big Flock has been a consistent presence in the DC area music scene for close to a decade. With many highs and lows throughout his career, Flock has proved his worth by staying relevant and real through it all. From repping PG County, MD to expanding his brand internationally, this episode was no different. Floyd and Flock discussed the current state of rap in the DMV and the effects that it’s had on the city as a whole. With violence surging, they broke down the role that rappers play in the results. Flock talked about his origins into rap including his time collaborating with Thraxxx and other artists like Shy Glizzy and the controversy that came with that. The biggest difference between local and national success and where he sees himself in comparison to other artists in his genre of rap. This conversation went everywhere from mental health and coping skills to legacy and parenthood. Guaranteed this won’t be close to what you’re expecting. A few fans wrote in their comments and questions for our “RollUp” segment and Floyd gets out on the spot like never before. This one might just do a million. You can’t miss this. Wassup World. This week we’re right back with a great episode. As the DMV sees record profits from the legalization of cannabis, a show like ours had to tap in with some of the trailblazers in the local industry. Both guests are young black entrepreneurs in one of the biggest markets in the U.S. Jay Mills is an artist, activist and entrepreneur who has been around for years leaving her mark. As the founder of various businesses based around the 420 renaissance , Mills has carved out her own lane since #PassTheJay. Rob from Mr.Roblato Boutique Cannabis, is using his extensive cultivation experience to educate other individuals interested in learning more about the process. Working directly with different companies to empower black businesses, Mr. Roblato has become a go to guy for the marijuana movement. As our first show of this kind, the HT crew had our first Weed Mukbang. Roblato brought some great strains through as we discussed the evolution of the canna-business and the effects that legalization has had on young black America. They broke down how they got into the industry and gave tips and tricks on how others can too. Is the new weed safe to smoke ? Are the laws meant set up for us to fail ? How do I start my own cannabis company? We cover all of that and much more on this great episode of Highthoughts. Happy holidays to you and yours this thanksgiving from the HT family. This week we have a great show for you to tune into. D.Floyd sat down with two of the DMV’s finest for a real conversation. Rue Pratt is an internationally recognized writer and recording artist with incredible talent and presence. ZeZe is the host of the very popular YouTube platform A2Z TV where she gives commentary on current events and social issues heard by hundreds of thousands across the globe. Floyd wasted no time breaking down the sexism in the entertainment industry that these women experience. Are women to blame for the unwanted advances from their male counterparts. HT touched on everything from Joe Smith’s wife and her onlyfans activities to Dwight Howard and his off the court “lifestyle.” Rue was able to shed light on her perspective of the so-called “LGBTQ Agendas” while ZeZe schooled us on her journey and strategy to conquer the digital world while being an intellectual woman in 23. Are gender roles still a thing? Is sex still taboo ? You know we had to talk about the war in Palestine too. Roll one up with the cousins and watch this with the family before the games come on. This week we back live and direct. Excuse the allergies and stuffy nose but i had a few issues i had to tap into. This episode was sponsored by the usual suspects, Tristate and Bouqe rolling papers. Salute to DMV Hoodz and Newz. We touched on the recent visit of internet blogger Shawn Cotton who was recently in DC to host an open mic competition for DMV hopefuls. Things took a turn during one of the visits but our own media platform stood tall and held the young kids down. We tap into the new musical projects from Jeezy and Freddie Gibbs. Great projects. Of course we had to touch on the recent headlines with Kanye and the Drink Champs interview. Was he wrong or did he just offend the wrong group. Why don't white celebrities face the same backlash as the blacks. Kevin Spacey wins big. Wale criticized again. Crime on the rise in urban cities and more. Don't miss it. Be back next week.
