It’s time for another Ask Rachel episode of the podcast - and the questions that came today were really incredible. It was a very mother-centered episode, with guests asking about setting boundaries with their mothers, how to find moments of self-care when you’re a new mother, and how we can really make a change in the world when we are so immersed with raising our kids. Rachel also opens up about a topic she doesn’t speak on much - her relationship with her own mother. It’s a very intimate episode focused on the people who hold so much, and somehow continue to keep giving. Tune in to open your heart. Happy Spring Equinox! Today marks the balancing of night and day, the halfway point between winter and summer solstice, a new astrological year, and of course, the first day of spring. With this untapped potential, this episode offers you a full practice and ritual. It’s an opportunity to grab your journal and pen, reflect on what happened to you over the winter, and manifest what you want to invite into the new season. It’s time to metaphorically air things out and plant new seeds. Spring brings things to life, it allows for new opportunities, and it holds the potential for so much change. Let’s not waste it! By the end of the practice you will have journaled with Rachel, set a clear intention, and planted a prayer to mark this fresh new season. As spring inches closer, Rachel has a personal realization about this time of year: it is always filled with a mixture of grief and celebration. With her daughter’s birthday and the anniversary of her best friend’s passing both taking place, there are always many conflicting feelings being felt at the same time. This week brought its share of challenges - but did the universe do that on purpose so all the feelings could be felt? Rachel shares the entire story. From losing her beloved chicken Lotta, to taking care of Ringo after his surgery, and Finn experiencing a burst ear drum, Rachel’s attention has been on the care of those that she loves. What is demanding your attention right now? What unfinished business do you have as spring approaches? If you’re holding a lot of everything right now, this episode will help you know where to shift your energy - and what deserves your love and attention. Welcome to another episode of From the Heart. Today Rachel begins with a meditation - something all our hearts need - to settle into the moment and open ourselves up to receive. When the world feels dark, when our days feel like a never-ending to-do list, we have to make sure that we are making joy a priority in the small moments we have for ourselves. There is no other way to carry on.  Rachel talks about how she is leaning into joy as her life accelerates. Spring is getting closer, she’s preparing to open her farm store, lead a retreat and fulfill her own garden projects, and all these activities are keeping her anchored in joy. You have full permission to appreciate the beauty you have in your life. It’s the only way you can exist alongside the darkness of the world and be part of the change.  At the end of the show, Rachel gives an update on Ringo after his recent surgery. Tune in for a fun episode filled with life updates, dreams, and joy as rebellion. Maybe the apocalypse isn’t what you see in the movies. It’s not power grids collapsing, fires burning everywhere, and zombies coming for us all. Instead, it looks like society being okay with abuse and asking us all to move on. In today’s episode, Rachel has entered a new level of feminine RAGE. She talks more about the abuse women and children suffer at the hands of men and the micro-aggressions from non abusers that keep us all from holding the bad men accountable. It’s time for the men to step up. Rachel’s shares hard conversations she’s had with her own husband and how you can speak to your partner about what a just and equitable world looks like. If we are going to survive the patriarchy, we need our men to listen. Tune in for an emotional and fiery episode that may be the spark we need. With the Epstein files and all the atrocities that they hold coming to light, we can no longer be silent and complacent in a world built on patriarchy, pedophilia, and women as second class citizens. In today’s episode, Rachel unpacks her own experience diving into the realities of the files. As a mother, as a woman, and as a business owner, she shares stories of people she almost worked with that were in the files, and experiences from when she was young that shaped her. If you are not feeling the rage then you are not listening. Tune in for an episode that will inspire you to look closely at the fabric of the society we live in and know in your heart: it’s time to burn it all to the ground. If you’re a parent, you may have heard a million different theories on how to best raise children. But here’s the thing: none of those people have ever been in your shoes and they’ve never raised your kids. In today’s episode, Rachel talks about parenting from intuition and from your own lived experience.  Do we really need advice from experts, ChatGPT, or a hundred parenting books telling us what to do, or is this something we just innately know? Is it okay to lecture other people’s kids? Can we be friends with our kids or do we always have to be that authoritarian figure? Maybe parents don’t need more boxes to check on the parenting checklist. Maybe they just need more support so they can do what they already know how to do. It’s time for another episode of Ask Rachel. Today’s show brings with it a beautiful mix of deep questions from listeners. How can we handle the intense anxiety, fear and intrusive thoughts that come with having a new child and thinking something bad may happen to them? Is there anything we can do to lessen the burden of losing our pets? In a world filled with so many horrible things, how can we regulate our nervous systems and make it through the day feeling somewhat whole? It’s an episode that will help you meet your dreams, live fully, and most of all: love as deeply as you can possibly love. Tune in to hear it. In today’s episode, Rachel is talking to you from the first day of her moon, feeling very vulnerable and sad. She begins by sharing her views on the injustices occurring in every corner of the planet. When we are separated geographically, but still feeling these intense emotions for others, what can we do? One answer is to connect deeply to our feminine. Rachel gains some momentum and shares a practice she has to really express her feminine energy - the ugly dance. If you ever feel the need to embody your emotions through movement, to act out and rage against the insanity of the world, or to step into your fullest expression of self, the ugly dance is the answer. Maybe no one has taught us what healthy anger looks like - and maybe no one has given us permission to touch the ugliest parts of ourselves - but this episode will. Tune in to go there. Rachel’s stay in Aruba has come to a close. With her husband and son spending an extra week, she discusses the impending sense of separation anxiety she feels leaving them behind. At the same time, she is experiencing a rare migraine, which leaves her wondering - how many of the ailments we feel in our body are purely emotional and energetic? What if the mind is responsible for a lot more than we really know? With all of this happening, Rachel shares some final stories from her time in Aruba, including what has changed on the island since her last time visiting and how family gatherings go with Dennis’ side. She then shares about her plans for Sweden as she returns home. It’s a lighthearted episode that will leave you uplifted and thoughtful. In the spirit of throwing it back to 2016, Rachel has a new yoga class out on Patreon with a playlist and poses from a class she taught way back in the day. Take the class here. For the first time since 2023, Rachel’s husband Dennis joins the show for a fun and awkward conversation. How has life been treating Dennis in Sweden since we last heard from him? How is it being back in Aruba for a holiday? How do Aruba and Sweden compare? And probably the most important question: does Dennis want to move back to Aruba? Dennis shares more about his new golfing hobby, how he feels about going to couples coaching sessions with Rachel, why this past New Year’s was so special to him, and his wishes for 2026. It’s a fun, lighthearted episode not to be missed! And because we can never get enough of Dennis, visit Patreon for a bonus Q&A episode where Dennis really opens up and answers some very personal questions. In today’s episode, Rachel talks about the rituals that she anchors into everyday in different shapes and forms - and how they serve as an important reminder for the goodness that exists in the world right now. She shares more about her past week in Aruba, what her and Dennis’ schedules look like, and how they are working together to make everything flow and everyone feel good. We need our self-care practices more than ever right now. When we do things that make us feel good, that can spill over into other areas of our lives and make us better people. Preparing for the ritual is the ritual! When there is chaos surrounding you, can you connect to a place of peace within? And can you use that peace to benefit the world? Welcome to the first episode of 2026 where Rachel is talking to you from Aruba. This is her first time here since 2022 - which was a very complicated trip. She talks about her feelings from the last trip, the difficulties her and Dennis faced, and the feeling of rejection she had. This time around, things are different - but not uncomplicated. Rachel has realized there are still emotions that need feeling, chapters that need closing, and business that needs to be finished once and for all. Can she repair things that were once broken? Can your heart truly recover from such a loss? Take a trip down memory lane in this episode and you may realize - sometimes all it takes is a little bit of time. Welcome to our last podcast of 2025, where, as usual, it’s time for our big Intention Setting Practice. This is our biggest and most sacred practice of the year. We will dance, move, feel into our hearts, and spill it all out on paper. Who do you want to become in 2026? This practice will guide your way there. You will set goals in four different areas of your life (home, mind, body, and soul) and you will also set a clear intention, affirmation, and word of the year for 2026. This is not about ‘new year, new you’. This has nothing to do with who society wants you to be. This practice is all about becoming the most authentic version of you. All you need is a journal and a pen. Let’s dive in! The song Rachel dances to in the practice is called Township Krishna by Krishna Das and can be found here. To do this practice, make sure you have first done Processing 2025: A Ritual to Move On. This will clear the air of anything still lingering from 2025. And, From the Heart Podcast is now on Patreon, where you will find bonus content and ad-free episodes. Available as a support for the Intention Setting Practice, you will find a Guidebook as well as a Bonus Episode: Embodying Your Intentions for 2026 on Patreon.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Somehow we have arrived at the end of another year - and with that, it’s time to say goodbye to 2025. Today’s episode is one of our most popular of the entire year. We are going to process the year that has now passed. Before you can sit down and set your intentions for the new year, you need to ask yourself: what did 2025 bring you? What was beautiful? What was difficult? What lessons do you want to bring with you into 2026? And what are you leaving behind in 2025? This is a very emotional practice that you actively do. You will create space and freedom inside your body, you will meditate, you will integrate big lessons, and you will work through various journaling prompts. So, grab your journal and pen, brew yourself some tea, and settle in for not just a regular podcast episode, but a beautiful practice that will prepare you for what’s to come. Take a journey into the takeaways, the blessings, the friendships, and the love that shaped the past year. From the overall feeling of the year, to what you manifested and created, you’ll move through a detailed timeline of 2025 over the course of this episode. It’s time to put away the past so we can move forward. Don’t forget to tune in next week on December 26 to set your intentions for 2026 in our biggest episode of the year. On top of that, we have some exciting news! From the Heart is now available on Patreon, where you will find ad-free episodes and extra content. Out today on Patreon only is a bonus episode: Processing 2025 - The Embodied Practice where you can continue today’s work in a physical practice. Join the patreon at patreon.com/rachelbrathen. With the internet at our fingertips, are we losing our critical thinking and problem solving skills? And if so, where are we headed as a society if we can’t think for ourselves anymore? In today’s episode, Rachel talks about how to tell the difference between deep integrated knowing versus information we just copied and gathered online. It is imperative that we feel rooted in knowing who we are and where we come from. This episode will help you stand tall, determine resources that help you when you’re anxious, and keep you steady through any storm.  Next Friday is the start of our big end of year practices here on From the Heart. Be sure to tune in December 19 to process 2025, as well as December 26 to set your intentions for 2026. How many epiphanies will we come to in our lives? How many cycles of the spiritual journey will we go on? Well, maybe that’s the point. In today’s episode, Rachel talks about feeling lost again and again. With her husband away, her to-do list is overflowing, she has lost her voice, her daughter has gotten sick, and her son has the chicken pox. But maybe it’s not about having a perfectly peaceful life all the time. It’s about the moment where we catch ourselves, realize we are off the path, and work toward venturing back. It’s a practice! I’s learning to love the journey as much as the destination. Rachel opens up about it all. And whatever journey you may be on right now, this episode will remind you to keep your eyes on the horizon. You’re living life, and you’re getting there. To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Your inner critic tells you a lot of things. Usually it’s just trying to keep you safe, but sometimes it’s completely untrue and harmful. In today’s episode, Rachel talks about her inner critical voice and how that is amplified in the online space. Sometimes the voice inside your head can sound a lot like the voices of the trolls online. After considering this, the conversation shifts toward our children. Do we really want to subject our children to everything that the internet brings with it? But how can we find a balance between keeping our children safe and not letting them feel left out among their peers? This is a tricky conversation and probably the biggest obstacle we will face as our children get older. Tune in for some heart felt advice. Today we have an episode of Ask Rachel on the show - and somehow, all the questions beautifully relate and come full circle. In the first question, Rachel openly discusses her relationship with her husband and how they were able to fall deeper in love and grow into a new dynamic in their marriage. She shares an actionable practice that all couples should do every week. Then, she talks about healing from burnout and the single most impactful thing that helped her on this journey - connecting with nature.  All of this ties into the last question: how does it feel to manifest a dream? Going from burnout, mold and the most difficult time of Rachel and Dennis’ relationship, they are now flourishing on their land in Sweden and living in tune with nature. Things have come full circle, and today’s episode will remind you that no matter where you may be right now, life is leading you somewhere beautiful. Did we just become best friends!? This might as well have been me talking...I had the exact same experience a few weeks ago and yesterday. You really explained exactly what I go through too. I felt so alone as well, and am really comforted by your shared experience. Thank you so much. And I might add that Canada is a lovely country to live in😉.

Lea Luna asking where her brother and sister were reminded me of when I was 16 and I felt a strong urge to have a brother. I asked my mom if she would foster or adopt to which she said no. About a year later I found out about the existence of my younger half-brother (found out about 10 years later I have another half-brother). So maybe she is onto something and is predicting a future outcome 😉

Agree with you regarding kids, in my province we’ve been under curfew since January 7 , from 8pm-5 am, I’m not a mom, I’m an auntie and I know I have to wear a mask but when I think of my close friends kids who thrive but my 15 yrs old niece is having a hand time with anxiety. I’m not Into conspiracy and as soon as the vaccine is available for everyone and at least the over 60 yrs old. Btw, Florida isn’t safe at all, 🙄❤️ I love your discussion , I listened to the earlier one but was kinda ashamed to comment. Like Dennis I’m a natural social distancing person but after a year, I can’t deal, well I do and the best way possible but it’s hard, and Dennis I always dreamed about doing an iron man. Your feeling was right, January 6th🙄

I 100% understand that woman's anger, but how she directed that anger was unacceptable. As someone who used to hate men for their treatment of me and other women, and as someone who used to direct that anger in negative ways, that is NEVER the solution to solving a problem, and it's never an excuse for shitty behavior. She was still in the wrong. Period. Changes most definitely need to be made here in the west in regards to yoga, but attacking people isn't the route to take, and it's definitely not in line with the tradition of yoga to act out in such a way.

Hi! I don't know if you get my comment. But I wanted to tell you that I always listen to your podcast and like it! I like your morning ritual too and wish to develop one for myself. But I don't know where?! I live in a small apartment with my husband and there is no extra room or space here to make it my space. I also can't do any of these things except I stay totally silent. What would you suggest?

I so enjoyed listening to this, just because my boyfriend is also Dutch and I recognized so much in the way Dennis reacts, both directly and what you talked about. Sometimes it's seriously triggering, but most of it is really just a part of their culture. 😂😂😂
