Lots of owners feel endeared towards a nervous puppy or rescue dog because they want to help. However lots of these dogs have extreme behaviours and are hard to fit into family life- here's why.Support the Show.Home Visits for Behaviour ProblemsFacebook- Latest Cases and ReviewsInstagramTicTok Videos on Training
(Quick apology I didn't realise I hadn't uploaded the full tape! Full tips and tricks now added!!!) Most dogs will dig at some point in their lives and it can be a pain when your garden is full of holes or all your new plants have been destroyed! There are MANY ways to stop this behaviour - and even redirect it! Today we will look at all of these!Support the Show.Home Visits for Behaviour ProblemsFacebook- Latest Cases and ReviewsInstagramTicTok Videos on Training
Displacement behaviour is when an animal offers a different behaviour out of context- usually due to a stressful situation. This can be scratching, chewing feet, spinning, chasing shadows, digging, humping etc. When it starts to appear without a stressor added this is similar to OCD in humans. Its rare that I see OCD to be honest but it's fixable! It's not a born with condition and doesn't need medications to stop it- just training!Support the Show.Home Visits for Behaviour ProblemsFacebook- L...
Slip leads can cause damage to your dog's neck if he's a strong puller, however for some training programs they are a necessary piece of equipment and you will see why. Support the Show.Home Visits for Behaviour ProblemsFacebook- Latest Cases and ReviewsInstagramTicTok Videos on Training
If you have a nervous dog that finds it hard to deal with new experiences then you need to advocate for that dog. Before a dog develops nervous aggression or similar traits we need to read the body language and help him out. A lot of dogs become reactive when they're not being listened to - and that's other dogs as well as us as the owner! To follow on from my last podcast about what I look for before training outside, these are things I look for before we begin any session. It tells me how much training the dog has had, how anxious they are, even if I will need a muzzle that day!If you have any problem behaviour and your dog does any of these 3 things you need to address them first. They will help you massively! And they are dead simple.(Sorry about the background noise I'm extremely fidgety!!)Support the Show.Home Visits for ...
In my first episode I’m talking about what to address first before you take your dog outside to work on their problems. It doesn’t matter if it’s pulling or aggression, there’s 3 points to look at and improve beforehand and if your dog does need training outside then this will be useful for you to look at too. https://fawndog121dogtraining.co.ukSupport the Show.Home Visits for Behaviour ProblemsFacebook- Latest Cases and ReviewsInstagramTicTok Videos on Training
Don't bother training your dog if you have anxiety! Why? This is so harsh Tilly!I know. It’s the sad reality though, unless you can be calm and confident, your dog will always be picking up cues from you- wether you use positive training or an E- collar! Here I go through my best tips to help you, so that you can move forward together. I also suffer with anxiety but, through personal growth (and God) it has vastly improved, so I empathise with your pain and promise there is a way thr...

If you have a GSD puppy that is BARKING you need to stop this NOW. These are difficult dogs and once they hit 18months become almost impossible to work with! They typically aren't easy family pets and often rehomed or put down due to aggressive behaviour. This episode interviews Erica from Wolfies Wish- a specialty company that helps owners mourn the loss of their beloved pets. This topic is close to my heart as I lost Sky July 2023 and it really was exceptionally hard- despite that I knew it was a long time coming and I have lost many animals before. (I do crack a little bit in the first minutes). She now has a little shrine near the front door where her chair used to be. My favourite hello and the hardest goodbye. Suppor...
