Series 6, episode 2 of 'MGA Clinical Influencers' with Dr Tomas O'Neill who graduated from UCD Medicine in 2006. Dr O'Neill is a decorated clinician with several awards including the Vice Chancellor's International Scholar at Macquarie University, 2017, and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Rowan Nicks Scholar GB and Ireland 2017. He is now a Plastic Surgery consultant is St. Vincent's University Hospital where he has worked since returning from the NHS in 2024.
Series 6, episode 1 of 'MGA Clinical Influencers' with Dr Brid Shanahan who graduated from UCD Medicine in 2010. Dr Shanahan is a General Practitioner and Clinical Lead for Deep End Ireland – a group of advocates for GPs working in the most disadvantaged communities across the country. Dr Shanahan is also an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer / Assistant Professor in UCD School of Medicine.
Series 5, episode 8 of 'MGA Clinical Influencers' with Prof Linda Mulligan who graduated from UCD Medicine in 2002. Since 2014, she has practiced as a consultant forensic pathologist and is currently the Chief State Pathologist in the Office of State Pathologist, leading a team of 10 people who provide and support the national forensic pathology service. In 2022, she was awarded the distinguished graduate prize at the 2002 UCD medical class reunion and was appointed as a clinical professor in the UCD School of Medicine. Along with the provision of a 24/7 national forensic pathology service, the OSP staff are heavily involved in teaching and research with all medical schools, the gardai and the military police.
Series 5, episode 7 of 'MGA Clinical Influencers' with Prof John Moriarty who graduated from UCD Medicine in 2003 with First Class Honours in both Medicine and Surgery and the Misericordae medal for first in his Mater class. Dr Moriarty is a specialist in cardiovascular and interventional radiology at UCLA. He is Professor of Radiology and of Medicine (Cardiology). He returned to Ireland as a consultant Interventional Radiologist at the Mater in 2020, before returning again to UCLA in 2022 as Vice Chair (Clinical Research) of the Department of Radiological Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is also director of the program for Interventional Innovation, and Co-director of the UCLA PE Response Team. He has multiple roles in the UCLA Hospital system leadership, and has completed leadership and management training at Harvard School of Business and Public Health. Dr Moriarty is a national and international leader in the field of venous thromboembolism, DVT, PE and clot management.
Series 5, episode 6 of 'MGA Clinical Influencers' with Dr Madeleine Sertic, who graduated from UCD Medicine in 2015. Following her training, Dr Sertic joined the faculty at MGH in 2021 and was appointed Instructor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Since joining the faculty, Dr Sertic has participated in a broad range of research and clinical activities. She has a special interest in contrast safety and serves as the medical director of the MGH Radiology Contrast Emergency Management Simulation Program.
