He is a Junior doctor working in the NHS, in a hospital in London. He graduated from Southamptom Univeristy in 2021, after 6 years of toughing it out. Janarthan (Jan) and Nizany (Niz) are a brother and sister duo who invest in serviced accommodation (SA) in london. They were born in germany and emigrated to the UK in the early 2000s. They started investing in 2017 when an unfortunate event got Jan thinking on his feet. They now have 3 SAs (+2 more) in London, and have recently leased an office. And, their just getting started. They embody the concept of getting on with it, true grafters who do not compromise on quality or service. They have morals and really care about the customer/client experience. They are are focused on a system based approach, systemising everything as they go along, from the checking process to the cleaning and guest management. House of multiple occupency (HMO) - also know as bedsets, the latter term conjure a less appealing image. What do narrowboats and £10 million GDV development have in common (spoiler alert), turns out alot. In this episode we speak to Edward Freeman. He's a London based property developer with a moral conscience. He started his property developing journey with a narrow boat refurbishment during COVID19 and then moved onto a £1.1 million development in Camden. He is now working on a £10 GDV project which is part renovation and part new build. He’s also co founded an ethical private rented sector provider - affordable co living products. There was so much to learn during this episode, so much value. We discuss his early career from starting off in the bar trade, to then founding a dog walking business which he sold. We also discuss his future aims and aspirations. Welcome back to another episode, today we continue on with our explained series, we introduce the rent to rent (R2R) strategy. Rent to rent (in a nutshell) is the process of controlling and managing a property with the aim of increasing value in order to drive a profit by renting out the individual rooms/entire property. There are two subcategories of R2R. First one is rent to Serviced accomodation (SA) and the second is rent to house of multiple occupency (HMO). While both are very similar, there are unique differences with regards to each other. We also breifly cover the legality, ethichs and morals of rent. Jordan is a successful property sourcer and runs Mckenzie property sourcing company.
