A dear friend of the orchestra comes to visit! The wonderfully musical violinist Antje Weithaas talks with Gregor Zubicky about her journey from school to the stages of the world, how she works to create colors with an ensemble and explores some differences between conducting and play-directing. In this episode you'll also get to know Gregor a bit better as he tells us his parts of his story.
World-renowned clarinetist, musical groundbreaker and our chief conductor Martin Fröst joins Gregor to talk about Game Changers - works or people that have, literally and figuratively, changed the game of their field and art. As they explore this subject they also speak on the creative freedoms that can be found in restrictions, the Xodus project with Swedish artist Jesper Waldersten and Martins first encounter with the world of the ultra-rich.
We meet the wonderful violinist and orchestral leader Lorenza Borrani to discuss how to communicate with others in the language of music and her process of meeting and learning a piece of music together with an ensemble. Artistic director Gregor Zubicky also contemplates on the importance of digging into the details and minutiae of interpreting a musical score.
Join Gregor in a conversation with soprano superstar Jeanine De Bique as they among other things talk about her musical upbringing and road to the professional opera stages around the world.
In this episode the artistic manager of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra explores the journey of an orchestra. How does an orchestra develop its own character and sound? Why is auditioning for an orchestra such a hard job application process? What does an orchestra have in common with cinemas onboard luxury superyachts?
The great musician Steven Isserlis talks about his relationship with Schumanns music and his music written for the cello. Gregor Zubicky describes the origin story of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra.
Our first guest Anja Bihlmaier talks with Gregor about the life of a travelling conductor, of being in three timezones at the same time and meeting a new orchestra for the first time.
