Hey there! I’m Tara. A wife, mother, fitness professional and a recovered obsessor of diet and exercise.
For most of my adult life I have tried to gain control and change how I look by using diet and exercise. I have fought many years of a lonely, mental battle. I spent years caught in the cycle of depriving and bingeing.
I was so exhausted mentally of all the constant thinking of food. When can I eat? What will I eat? Will there be enough to eat? All this coupled with the fact I was trying to exercise my way into losing a certain amount of weight or changing how I looked, I was FINALLY fed up with how I was living.
I began working through solutions to trust myself, gain confidence and finally be free from the mental drain I lived with for over 15 years.
My faith in Jesus has sustained me through this journey, and I have come out on the other side stronger, more confident and I have so much more mental energy and time to devote to what is really important in my life.
If you’ve gotten to the place of “throwing your hands up” and you’re ready to find freedom from the rules of diet & exercise you’ve established in your life….
If you’re ready to learn to trust yourself, find a healthy relationship with food and the workouts that are best for you….
Put your big girl pants on and lay the cookie down. It’s time to be accountable for your time, your life and your calling!

In today’s episode, we’re cutting through the diet noise and confusion to talk about the real truth about protein needs for women over 30. Let’s do it.

Have you ever felt like eating healthy turns into a constant battle of self-control?
Like if you could just try harder… pray harder… be more disciplined… then maybe you’d finally get it right?
And when you don’t?
The shame creeps in.
The guilt spirals.
And before you know it, you’re starting over again—again.
But what if the struggle isn’t because you’re weak?
What if it’s because you were never meant to white-knuckle your health in the first place?
In today’s episode, we’re talking about why God never asks you to rely on willpower to care for your body—and what He offers instead. A way that brings peace instead of pressure. Freedom instead of food obsession. Consistency without guilt, burnout, or shame.
If you’re tired of starting over…
If you’re tired of feeling like your health journey is a spiritual failure…
And if you’re ready for an approach that actually lasts—
Then friend, this episode is for you. I hope you’ll stick with me. Let’s dive in.
And before we do, I want to remind you—you don’t have to do this alone. There’s a Facebook community waiting for you called Lose Weight, Live Free, where you can connect with women who are walking this same faith-filled journey. You’ll get encouragement, insight, and updates on upcoming podcast episodes and workshops.
You can also email me anytime at taraj@dietditching.com if you have questions or want to explore one-on-one coaching. I’d love to connect with you there.
Alright—let’s get started.
If you’ve ever thought, “I know what to do… I just can’t seem to do it consistently,” I want you to know—you are not alone. Most women don’t actually struggle with knowing what to eat or how to exercise. The real struggle is following through, especially when life gets busy, stressful, or exhausting.
That’s why today we’re talking about something different. We’re talking about how to build real, practical skills that help you eat healthy consistently—day in and day out—without relying on motivation, white-knuckling it with willpower, or feeling like you’re starting over every single Monday.
If you’re craving a calmer, more sustainable approach to eating healthy—one that actually fits your real life—this episode is for you.
And I would absolutely love for you to join me tomorrow in my free workshop, Beyond Willpower. We’re going to go much deeper into creating the skills that support lasting change, not just more discipline or trying harder.
You can drop your email at TaraJ@dietditching.com, or come join us in our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free, and get your email to me there. I would love to have you with us. This workshop is all about learning how to move forward without relying on willpower—because you were never meant to do this alone.
Have you ever noticed how eating healthy feels almost effortless when motivation is high…
but the moment you’re tired, stressed, overwhelmed, or busy, it suddenly feels impossible?
That’s not because something is wrong with you.
It’s because willpower was never meant to carry your health goals.
In today’s Fit Tip Friday episode, we’re talking about the one skill that can actually replace willpower—especially on the hard days. This is the skill that makes consistency feel simpler, calmer, and so much more sustainable for real life… not just when motivation is high.
And if this is hitting home for you, I’d love to invite you to go deeper with me in my upcoming free workshop, Beyond Willpower, happening February 10th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
We’re going to unpack the skills you actually need—not more discipline, not more white-knuckling—to help you eat healthy without the constant struggle and finally move toward your goals this year.
To join us, just get your email on my list. You can head over to the Facebook group Lose Weight Live Free and plug it in there, or you can email me directly at taraJ@dietditching.com.
I would absolutely love to see you there.
Because lasting change doesn’t come from trying harder—it comes from learning the right skills.
Hope you’ll join me 💛
Have you ever felt so motivated to eat healthy?
Your meals are planned, the groceries are bought, your mindset feels strong… and then a few days later, it all quietly falls apart.
If motivation were the key to healthy eating, you wouldn’t find yourself restarting every Monday.
So today, we’re talking about why motivation isn’t enough to carry you through real life—and more importantly, what actually works when motivation fades, stress shows up, and your routine gets disrupted.
Because healthy eating that lasts isn’t built on hype or perfect weeks. It’s built on skills you can use even on the hard days.
If you’re tired of relying on bursts of motivation and you’re ready for something more sustainable, this episode is absolutely for you.
I’d also love to invite you to my upcoming workshop, Beyond Willpower, where we’re going to dive deeper into the skills you truly need to lose weight and reach your goals—because willpower isn’t a skill, and it was never meant to be your strategy.
You can join us by heading into our Facebook group, Lose Weight Live Free, and dropping your email there. Or you can contact me directly at taraJ@dietditching.com so I can get you on the list and send you all the workshop details.
Let’s stop starting over—and start building something that actually lasts.
Have you ever prayed for more self-control… and still felt stuck in the same cycle?
Like no matter how hard you try, how disciplined you become, or how faithful you want to be, nothing really changes?
Maybe you’ve told yourself, If I could just try harder… if I could be more disciplined… if I could be a better Christian… then this would finally click.
But what if the problem isn’t that you’re lacking willpower at all?
What if this struggle is actually an invitation from God into something deeper?
Today on this Faith-Filled Friday episode, we’re talking about the shift from willpower to wisdom. Because true, lasting self-control isn’t something you white-knuckle your way into. It’s not something you force. It’s something that’s produced within you as you learn to walk with God, listen to Him, and rely on His strength instead of your own.
If you’re exhausted from striving…
If you’re tired of feeling like you should be “doing better by now”…
If you’re craving real, Spirit-led freedom instead of constant effort—this episode is for you.
I’m also excited to invite you to my upcoming workshop, Beyond Willpower, where we’re going to go deeper into this conversation. We’ll talk about why willpower was never meant to be your main tool—and what actually helps you overcome the struggle, find freedom, and move toward the results you’ve been praying for.
If you want to join us, head over to our Facebook group, Lose Weight, Live Free, drop your email, and I’ll make sure you’re on the list to receive the workshop link coming up in February.
And if you have questions or want to connect directly, you can always email me at taraJ@dietditching.com. I’d love to hear from you.
Let’s stop striving—and start walking in the freedom God already has for you. 💛
Have you ever said to yourself, “I was doing so good… and then I just fell off track”?
Have you ever looked at your eating habits and wondered, Why can’t I just stick with it?
Maybe you’ve promised yourself—again—that this time you’ll have more self-control, more discipline, more willpower.
But what if the reason you keep falling off track with healthy eating has nothing to do with self-control at all?
What if the problem isn’t that you’re weak—but that you’ve never been given the right tools?
Today, we’re going to break down why healthy eating feels so hard, why willpower keeps failing you, and what actually leads to consistency, peace, and true freedom with food. I really hope you’ll stick with me and begin to experience the food freedom you’ve been longing for.
And I also want to invite you to something special. On February 10th, I’m hosting a free workshop called Beyond Willpower, and I would love for you to join us.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing three practical, real-life ways to release control, trust God more deeply, and finally experience change that doesn’t fade after a few weeks. If that sounds familiar, welcome back to the podcast—and friend, you are exactly where you’re meant to be today.

Welcome back, friend. I’m really glad you’re here today—because we’re tackling one of the most common (and frustrating) fitness questions women ask: Can I lose weight in just one specific area of my body?
You’ve probably heard it called spot reducing.
Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, “If I could just flatten my stomach… tone my arms… or slim down my thighs, I’d finally feel good in my body”? If that’s you, I want you to know—you’re not alone. Almost every woman has that one area that feels extra stubborn.
And the fitness world knows it. That’s why we’re constantly being sold promises like 10-minute ab workouts, arm-toning challenges, or thin-thigh fixes. If it sounds too good to be true… well, today we’re going to talk about that.
In this episode, we’re getting honest about what’s real, what’s not, and what actually works when it comes to changing your body. And here’s the good news—you have way more control than you’ve been led to believe.
By the end of this episode, you’ll understand exactly why targeted fat loss doesn’t work—but more importantly, you’ll walk away with practical, doable strategies you can start using today to feel stronger, more confident, and clear on what to focus on.
And if you want extra support and connection, come join us inside our free Facebook community, Lose Weight Live Free. We’d love to have you there.
If you’ve ever felt afraid you’ll overdo it… if you’ve second-guessed every food choice… or if you’ve thought, “I can’t trust myself to eat healthy unless I’m following a strict program,” you’re absolutely not alone.
Today we’re talking about how to trust yourself with healthy eating. I’m going to share three powerful keys that will help you move out of fear and into genuine food freedom. And the best part? Each step is simple, doable, and something you can start practicing today.
I’d love to connect with you—come join us inside our Facebook group, Lose Weight, Live Free.
If you’ve ever felt like food takes up far too much space in your mind—constantly thinking about what you should eat, what you shouldn’t eat, or replaying your choices over and over—this episode will speak straight to your heart.
Today we’re talking about something so many women quietly struggle with: a thought life that feels consumed by food. But here’s the hope—God never intended food, fear, or rigid rules to control our minds. He invites us into freedom, peace, and a renewed way of thinking.
So if you’re tired of the mental tug-of-war, take a deep breath. You’re in the right place. Today you’ll learn practical steps, rooted in God’s truth, to begin freeing your thought life from food obsession.

If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place. Today I’m sharing 5 simple, practical tips that will help you avoid the usual weight gain, feel confident while traveling, and come out on the other side proud of how you stayed grounded through it all. I want you to enjoy your trip, the food, the people you love—and do it all without the stress, guilt, or “oh well, I’ll fix it in January” mindset.
And if you ever feel like you need extra support or accountability, our community Lose Weight Live Free on Facebook is the perfect place to stay connected. Come join us there—or send me an email anytime at taraj@dietditching.com. I’d love to hear from you!
Do you want to be consistent with strength training… but either feel totally intimidated by it or just can’t seem to make the time? Maybe you’re unsure where to start, or the whole thing feels overwhelming, so it keeps getting pushed to “someday.”
If that’s you, you are absolutely not alone.
Today, I’m breaking down three powerful reasons strength training deserves a spot in your routine—and why it doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. Just 30 minutes, three times a week can make a massive difference in how you look, feel, and move through your life.
And here’s the best part: while strength training sets you up for long-term health, the benefits start showing up right now.
So stick with me—let’s get you confident, consistent, and excited about building a routine that truly supports your body and your goals.
