Hey there! I’m Tara. A wife, mother, fitness professional and a recovered obsessor of diet and exercise.

For most of my adult life I have tried to gain control and change how I look by using diet and exercise. I have fought many years of a lonely, mental battle. I spent years caught in the cycle of depriving and bingeing.

I was so exhausted mentally of all the constant thinking of food. When can I eat? What will I eat? Will there be enough to eat? All this coupled with the fact I was trying to exercise my way into losing a certain amount of weight or changing how I looked, I was FINALLY fed up with how I was living.

I began working through solutions to trust myself, gain confidence and finally be free from the mental drain I lived with for over 15 years.

My faith in Jesus has sustained me through this journey, and I have come out on the other side stronger, more confident and I have so much more mental energy and time to devote to what is really important in my life.

If you’ve gotten to the place of “throwing your hands up” and you’re ready to find freedom from the rules of diet & exercise you’ve established in your life….

If you’re ready to learn to trust yourself, find a healthy relationship with food and the workouts that are best for you….

Put your big girl pants on and lay the cookie down. It’s time to be accountable for your time, your life and your calling!

Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything right… and still feel disappointed in your body? You’re lifting the weights. You’re eating the protein. You’re trying not to obsess. And yet the scale isn’t moving the way you hoped. Your stomach looks the same. Your body doesn’t reflect the effort you’re pouring in. And if you’re honest? There’s still frustration there. Maybe even a quiet prayer that sounds like, “God, why isn’t this changing for me?” Today’s Faith Filled Friday episode is for the woman who is exhausted from striving. The woman who’s tired of tying her peace to progress photos. The woman who feels like she can’t fully rest until her body looks different. We’re having an honest conversation about what it looks like to find real peace — the kind that only comes from Him — even when your body doesn’t change the way you want it to. Because your peace was never meant to be scale-dependent. If this resonates with you, I’d love to connect. Come join us inside the Lose Weight, Live Free Facebook community, or send me an email at TaraJ@dietditching.com and share your story. You don’t have to walk this journey alone.
Can we talk about belly fat for a minute? Because if you’re over 30, chances are you’ve looked down one day and thought, “Wait… where did this come from?” You might be eating the same. Working out the same. Maybe even trying harder than you did in your 20s. And yet… your body feels different. So you start looking for something to blame. Your hormones. Your metabolism. Your age. Your willpower. But what if the real issue isn’t that your body is broken… What if your body is just stressed? In today’s episode, we’re breaking down the connection between stress, hormones, and belly fat in a way that actually makes sense. No fear-based hormone talk. No “your cortisol is ruining your life” panic. No extreme diets. No detox teas. Just what’s physiologically happening after 30 — and what actually helps. Because here’s the truth: Your body isn’t betraying you. It’s adapting. It’s responding. It’s communicating. And when you understand how stress impacts blood sugar, sleep, recovery, and fat storage, especially around your midsection, you stop fighting your body… and start working with it. This episode is about clarity over chaos. Calm over control. Sustainable shifts instead of dramatic overhauls. If you’ve been frustrated with your belly and wondering what changed, this conversation will help you see your body through a different lens — one that leads to wisdom instead of war. And if you want more support, I’d love to connect with you. Email me at TaraJ@dietditching.com Or come join us inside our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free. You don’t need more pressure. You need understanding.
Let me guess… You’ve already told yourself, “I’ll start over Monday.” Maybe last weekend didn’t go the way you planned. Maybe you were “so good” all week… and then the wheels fell off. Maybe you’re just exhausted from feeling like healthy eating requires a dramatic reset every seven days. Here’s the truth no one is saying out loud: You don’t need to start over. You need a rhythm. Because starting over keeps you stuck in all-or-nothing. Rhythm is what builds consistency. In today’s episode, I’m walking you through the simplest weekly reset for healthy eating — and it has nothing to do with cutting carbs, skipping meals, or punishing yourself with extra cardio. We’re talking about: Stabilizing your blood sugar so cravings don’t run the show. Rebuilding your plate in a way that feels steady and sane. Re-centering your mind instead of spiraling in guilt. And if you love Jesus, inviting God into the process instead of white-knuckling it alone. Because healthy eating was never meant to feel like a weekly moral scorecard. It’s not about being “good” Monday through Friday and then trying to undo Saturday. It’s about learning how to return — calmly, confidently, consistently — without shame. If you’re tired of the all-or-nothing cycle… If you’re ready for consistency without obsession… If you want a reset that actually feels peaceful instead of punishing… This episode is for you. Come join us inside our Facebook community, Lose Weight Live Free. And I’d love for you to try this rhythm for seven days — not perfectly, just honestly — and then tell me how it went. You can always reach me at taraj@dietditching.com. Let’s stop starting over… and start building something sustainable instead.
Let’s talk about the thing no one really wants to say out loud—belly fat after 30. If you’ve ever typed into Google: “How to lose belly fat after 30” “Why is my stomach bigger in my 30s?” “Hormonal belly fat fix” “Best diet for women over 30” …friend, you are so not alone. But here’s what I need you to hear today—lean in for this: Your belly is not the real problem. And chasing belly fat loss might actually be the very thing keeping you stuck. Because most women aren’t just trying to lose fat. They’re trying to lose: The insecurity that crept in when their jeans fit differently. The fear that their body is changing in ways they can’t control. The frustration of doing “all the right things” and not seeing the results they used to. The quiet panic that maybe this is just how it’s going to be now. And diet culture? It knows that. It knows exactly how to whisper, “Just try this plan. Just cut this food. Just fix this one area.” But your belly isn’t a moral failure. It isn’t proof you’ve lost discipline. And it definitely isn’t the enemy. Today, we’re talking about the real truth about losing belly fat after 30—and the three mindset shifts that matter way more than another ab workout, detox tea, or 30-day shred. This conversation isn’t about giving up on your health. It’s about pursuing it in a way that doesn’t consume your thoughts, steal your peace, or make you feel like your body is a problem to fix. It’s about strength. It’s about stewardship. It’s about learning to work with your body instead of fighting it. So take a deep breath. You’re not behind. You’re not broken. And you’re definitely not alone. Let’s dive in. And if you’d love to keep this conversation going, come join us inside our Facebook community, Lose Weight Live Free, or send me a message at taraJ@dietditching.com. I’d truly love to hear what this brought up for you.
Today’s Faithful Friday is an invitation to rethink what stewardship really means. When you hear the word stewardship, you might immediately think about money or time—but have you ever considered that your health is something God has entrusted to you as well? So many women live at one of two extremes: either completely neglecting their health or obsessing over it in ways that feel heavy, rigid, and exhausting. But biblical stewardship was never meant to look like punishment or perfection. It was meant to look like faithfulness. In this episode, we’re talking about what it truly means to steward your health in a way that honors God, supports your energy, and releases you from the pressure to “have it all together.” Because caring for your body isn’t about vanity—it’s about walking faithfully with what you’ve been given. If you’re craving a calmer, more grace-filled approach to health, this conversation is for you. And if you’d like more support and accountability, I’d love to connect with you. Email me at taraj@dietditching.com, or join our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free, to find encouragement and community along the way. 💛
Let me ask you something. How many times have you told yourself, “I’ll start over on Monday,” only to find yourself stuck in the exact same cycle weeks later? If healthy eating always feels like it requires a reset button, I want you to hear this today: you are not the problem. The all-or-nothing approach is. Your body was never designed to be deprived—it was designed to be nourished. In this episode, we’re talking about how to stop starting over by shifting your focus away from calorie counting and toward what actually satisfies your body—starting with protein. Because when you learn how to nourish yourself well, consistency gets a whole lot easier. So if you’re ready to get off the Monday restart roller coaster and finally find a sustainable way to eat healthy, this episode is for you. And if you’d like more support, I’d love to see you inside our free Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free. If you want a deeper dive, you can also email me at taraj@dietditching.com
Welcome to another episode of Fit Tip Friday. If eating more protein sounds great in theory—but feels totally unrealistic with your schedule—this episode is for you. Today, I’m breaking down how to build easy, high-protein meals without recipes, meal-prep marathons, or spending hours in the kitchen. We’re talking simple formulas, quick protein options, and real-life meal ideas you can throw together even on your busiest days. The goal? To help you stay energized, satisfied, and consistent—without overthinking it or making healthy eating harder than it needs to be. If time is tight but you still want to eat well, let’s make this as simple as possible. Stick with me and let’s get into it. And if you’d like more support, we’d love to connect with you. You can email me at taraj@dietditching.com, and you’re also invited to join our free Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free. We’d love to see you there.
If you’re a woman over 30 and you feel like you’re doing all the right things—eating well, trying to be consistent—but you’re still struggling with low energy, constant cravings, or stubborn weight that won’t budge… there’s a good chance protein is the missing piece. In today’s episode, we’re cutting through the diet noise and confusion to talk about the real truth about protein needs for women over 30. How much you actually need, why it matters for your energy, metabolism, and hormones, and how to get enough without tracking, obsessing, or completely overhauling your diet. If you want to feel stronger, more satisfied after meals, and more energized—without extremes—this episode will help you start making simple, sustainable shifts that truly support your body. Let’s do it. And if you’d like more support, I’d love to connect with you. You can email me at taraj@dietditching.com, and you’re also invited to join our free Facebook community, Lose Weight Live Free. We’d love to see you there.
Have you ever felt like eating healthy turns into a constant battle of self-control? Like if you could just try harder… pray harder… be more disciplined… then maybe you’d finally get it right? And when you don’t? The shame creeps in. The guilt spirals. And before you know it, you’re starting over again—again. But what if the struggle isn’t because you’re weak? What if it’s because you were never meant to white-knuckle your health in the first place? In today’s episode, we’re talking about why God never asks you to rely on willpower to care for your body—and what He offers instead. A way that brings peace instead of pressure. Freedom instead of food obsession. Consistency without guilt, burnout, or shame. If you’re tired of starting over… If you’re tired of feeling like your health journey is a spiritual failure… And if you’re ready for an approach that actually lasts— Then friend, this episode is for you. I hope you’ll stick with me. Let’s dive in. And before we do, I want to remind you—you don’t have to do this alone. There’s a Facebook community waiting for you called Lose Weight, Live Free, where you can connect with women who are walking this same faith-filled journey. If you’ve ever thought, “I know what to do… I just can’t seem to do it consistently,” I want you to know—you are not alone. Most women don’t actually struggle with knowing what to eat or how to exercise. The real struggle is following through, especially when life gets busy, stressful, or exhausting. That’s why today we’re talking about something different. We’re talking about how to build real, practical skills that help you eat healthy consistently—day in and day out—without relying on motivation, white-knuckling it with willpower, or feeling like you’re starting over every single Monday. If you’re craving a calmer, more sustainable approach to eating healthy—one that actually fits your real life—this episode is for you. And I would absolutely love for you to join me tomorrow in my free workshop, Beyond Willpower. We’re going to go much deeper into creating the skills that support lasting change, not just more discipline or trying harder. This workshop is all about learning how to move forward without relying on willpower—because you were never meant to do this alone.
Have you ever noticed how eating healthy feels almost effortless when motivation is high… but the moment you’re tired, stressed, overwhelmed, or busy, it suddenly feels impossible? That’s not because something is wrong with you. It’s because willpower was never meant to carry your health goals. In today’s Fit Tip Friday episode, we’re talking about the one skill that can actually replace willpower—especially on the hard days. This is the skill that makes consistency feel simpler, calmer, and so much more sustainable for real life… not just when motivation is high. And if this is hitting home for you, I’d love to invite you to go deeper with me in my upcoming free workshop, Beyond Willpower, happening February 10th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. We’re going to unpack the skills you actually need—not more discipline, not more white-knuckling—to help you eat healthy without the constant struggle and finally move toward your goals this year. To join us, just get your email on my list. You can head over to the Facebook group Lose Weight Live Free and plug it in there, or you can email me directly at taraJ@dietditching.com. Have you ever felt so motivated to eat healthy? Your meals are planned, the groceries are bought, your mindset feels strong… and then a few days later, it all quietly falls apart. If motivation were the key to healthy eating, you wouldn’t find yourself restarting every Monday. So today, we’re talking about why motivation isn’t enough to carry you through real life—and more importantly, what actually works when motivation fades, stress shows up, and your routine gets disrupted. Because healthy eating that lasts isn’t built on hype or perfect weeks. It’s built on skills you can use even on the hard days. If you’re tired of relying on bursts of motivation and you’re ready for something more sustainable, this episode is absolutely for you. I’d also love to invite you to my upcoming workshop, Beyond Willpower, where we’re going to dive deeper into the skills you truly need to lose weight and reach your goals—because willpower isn’t a skill, and it was never meant to be your strategy. You can join us by heading into our Facebook group, Lose Weight Live Free, and dropping your email there. Or you can contact me directly at taraJ@dietditching.com so I can get you on the list and send you all the workshop details. Let’s stop starting over—and start building something that actually lasts.
Have you ever prayed for more self-control… and still felt stuck in the same cycle? Like no matter how hard you try, how disciplined you become, or how faithful you want to be, nothing really changes? Maybe you’ve told yourself, If I could just try harder… if I could be more disciplined… if I could be a better Christian… then this would finally click. But what if the problem isn’t that you’re lacking willpower at all? What if this struggle is actually an invitation from God into something deeper? Today on this Faith-Filled Friday episode, we’re talking about the shift from willpower to wisdom. Because true, lasting self-control isn’t something you white-knuckle your way into. It’s not something you force. It’s something that’s produced within you as you learn to walk with God, listen to Him, and rely on His strength instead of your own. If you’re exhausted from striving… If you’re tired of feeling like you should be “doing better by now”… If you’re craving real, Spirit-led freedom instead of constant effort—this episode is for you. I’m also excited to invite you to my upcoming workshop, Beyond Willpower, where we’re going to go deeper into this conversation. We’ll talk about why willpower was never meant to be your main tool—and what actually helps you overcome the struggle, find freedom, and move toward the results you’ve been praying for. If you want to join us, head over to our Facebook group, Lose Weight, Live Free, drop your email, and I’ll make sure you’re on the list to receive the workshop link coming up in February. But what if the reason you keep falling off track with healthy eating has nothing to do with self-control at all?
