As we begin the new year we start a new series through the book of Joshua. Pastor Sean looks at four things God promises to Joshua: the gift, the guarantee, good success, and guidance. God's promises are true for us as well, so let's walk in obedience to Jesus this year!
As we reflect the advent season, Pastor Sean looks at what it represents. 1. Christmas is a moment, but the incarnation is for life. 2. His light enters ordinary places, through us. 3. We need to go from beholding the light, to being bearers of the light. 4. The world needs Christmas all year! We also look at how we should respond practically going forward. 1. Schedule daily devotions. 2. Join a Sunday school/ Wednesday evening class. 3. Be part of a small group for accountability. 4. Let Jesus show you where you need to grow! Let's keep Christmas alive all year long! Happy New Year!!!
As we gather for our Christmas Eve service, we are reminded that Advent was and is about Jesus, the light of the world!
As we continue through the advent season, we focus on Peace, realizing Jesus IS our peace!
As we begin the advent season, we look to the hope that we find in Jesus as we are reminded of our savior's birth!
Pastor Sean concludes the series through 2 Peter this week pointing out that while we await the promises of a new heaven and new earth we need to... 1. Be Ready 2. Be Patient 3. Be on Guard 4. Be Growing. How are we doing in those areas?
This week Kevin looks at the prescription, the problem, and the promise that Peter gives us in this passage. Are we going to be the kind of people who are living our lives for the Lord and fulfilling the great commission to go and make disciples? The problems still exist... There are scoffers, and people who will try to deceive you for their own gain, but the prescription has not changed... remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandments of the Lord and Savior through the apostles as we await the promise of a new heaven and earth where righteousness dwells.
As we continue to look at 2 Peter, the focus is turned to false teachers. Pastor Sean breaks down what Peter reveals about false teachers in this passage. He reveals their character, their strategy, their promises, and their results.
As we continue through 2 Peter, Peter emphasizes the fact that God always does what is right. Pastor Sean explains how he does that as both judge and redeemer in today's passage.
As people make claims contrary to the apostles' teachings, Peter reminds us that what He has taught them is born of God and he personally witnessed. Pastor Sean reminds us that we do not have a blind faith, but we can have confidence in the claims for the Bible, which brings us hope because those claims are true! What do you believe?
As we continue to look at 2 Peter, we see that Peter doubles down on his initial remarks. He shows the importance of what God grants as we grow and understand His guarantees. As a gospel community we need to remind each other of those truths, stirring up the desire to leave a lasting legacy of faith. How will P.V. as a church be remembered? How will we as individual believers be remembered?
As we continue through 2 Peter, Pastor Sean looks at verses 3-11 looking at the difference between God's indicatives (what God does) and His imperatives (what He commands). He unpacks three truths in this passage: what God grants us as believers; how we grow as believers; and what He guarantees us.
We begin a series looking at 2nd Peter this week. Pastor Sean looks at the greeting to introduce Peter's letter generally accepted to be written to a non-Jewish audience. He emphasizes three things in this brief greeting. 1. He is a servant and apostle. 2. There is no hierarchy of faith, the same faith is for all who receive it as a gift from God through Jesus Christ. 3. Grace and peace are multiplied by the knowledge of God and Jesus which is revealed in the scriptures.
We finish our series on worship this week. Pastor Sean looks at how worship evokes emotions, leads to a response, and should be done in the context of a Gospel Community. When we come together, let's be prepared to worship!
This week as Pastor Sean looks throughout the scriptures to examine what God prescribes for elements in congregational worship in the scriptures. 1. Reading of the scriptures. 1 Timothy 4:13 2. Preaching and teaching the scriptures. Nehemiah 8 3. Prayer. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 4. Song. Ephesians 5:19 5. Confession of Faith. 1 Timothy 6:12-13 6. Sacraments. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 7. Offerings 1 Corinthians 16:1-3. How we worship as a gospel community must reflect how God prescribes us to worship Him.

We begin a four-week series about Worship this week. This week we look at John 4:23-24 to see what it means to worship in Spirit and Truth.
As we look at Psalm 103, we are reminded of the lesson from Habakkuk... Remember, Repeat, and Rejoice in all that God has done for us. Pastor Sean reminds us of the importance of the Gospel and the importance of not just being convinced and convicted, but being converted by putting faith in Jesus Christ!
This week, as we look at Psalm 32, we look at Forgiveness, Confession, and Repentance through Davids point of view. Kevin highlights 6 takeaways from this passage. 1. Forgiveness is available. 2. Unforgiveness is painful. 3. Confession is Simple. 4. Confession is a conversation. 5. Repentance is required. 6. Repentance is rewarded. Are you experiencing the blessed joy of forgiveness?
We continue to look at the Psalms, this week focusing on Psalm 27. Pastor Sean looks at David to see how we can get to a place of praising God in all situations. When we focus on who God is and what he can do, we can be confident in our pursuit of Him always and upon Him trusting that we will persevere.
