Wrestling with Freddie

This week I’m breaking down a wild stretch in wrestling with Jeff Dye, Sheamus getting moved to WWE’s alumni section (and what that might say about WWE’s shifting philosophy on veterans), plus AEW’s Forbidden Door fallout with MJF surviving a brutal bloodbath and Kenny Omega stepping in to set up their huge showdown on the road to Ospreay. Then jump to WWE where Gunther takes Cody out early, Seth Rollins and LA Knight trade fire, and CM Punk returns in a big way by beating Sami Zayn for a shockingly short title reign—setting up Punk vs Cody.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jeff Dye and I break down a wild week of wrestling, starting with why AEW’s Forbidden Door felt like a better pay-per-view than WWE’s Night of Champions—though some of that blood (especially Ospreay vs Swerve) was hard to watch. We get into WWE’s confusing King/Queen of the Ring fallout, Oba Femi’s strange promo, Brock Lesnar getting prioritized over titles, and how muddy the heel/face lines feel right now. Then we recap Night of Champions results.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week I got the chance to sit with Joiya Blake, an up and coming wrestlers how has started to make an impact in the indie scene where she has started to perfect her craft and pushing for her turn to take over and get her chance, as she told us, in All Elite Wrestling (AEW)See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I’m back with Jeff Dye and Producer Alex to break down a huge wrestling weekend with predictions for TWO cards: WWE Night of Champions (June 27, 2026 in Riyadh) and AEW Forbidden Door (June 28, 2026 in San Jose). I run through the big WWE matches—Cody vs Gunther vs Sami (and yes, I’m calling a sneaky Sami win). Then we hit Forbidden Door picks including Ospreay vs Swerve, Mercedes Moné in the Owen finals, and Team MJF in the cage main event. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week I am back home, and do I have a story for you where a drunk woman tried to buy me a martini, then insisted I was David Schwimmer. We also recap AEW Dynamite, SmackDown, Raw, and we tease next week’s  return of the Indie Talent Spotlight with wrestler Joiya Blake! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
