If they expanded to 76 teams, it would be eight additional games (not four). With eight more teams, you need to eliminate eight more teams, which means eight more games.
@colincowherd pushing the fake news on the protest.
Thanks for the politics in the first 60 seconds Doug. Unsub.
Doug is making the classic mistake here of believing that because an opposition position pops up that neither position then can be fully true.
A little perspective is needed here regarding Brady retiring. Schefter and Chris Mortensen did this with Brett Favre. When it looked like the end was near they would predict during every preseason that "this could be the last year for Brett Favre." After 3 or 5 years they were eventually correct and willing to take credit for predicting it before the season began.
What kind of #metoo bulshit is this?! 'Finally locked arms"? Domestic violence hasn't been "condoned" in this country for at least 50 years.
That's not why they call them the "New York football Giants." They do it because that idiot Chris Berman used to do it as part of his schtick. The baseball team left New York in 1957. It's been more than 60 years since anyone has had to differentiate between the football and baseball Giants. No one had done so for generations until Berman decided to start doing it.
Gottlieb insisting that LeBron can't be traded reminds me of every time Cris Carter insists that Urban Meyer is going to remain in retirement.
Wow! Closing the show by stealing from Chris Rock AND Eddie Murphy! That's really something!
What the f*** does, "The Pelicans are playing in the West in name only." mean? The last I checked, conference affiliation is the only f****** thing that matters.
I think what we actually "really need to understand here," is that none of these radio touts know whether the Warriors can win a title against the Bucks without Durant. And, let's be honest about the fact that all of those who don't believe they can have an interest in them not doing so. So, until it happens, they are going to continue to try to convince us that it can't happen regardless of what we may believe we are seeing with our own eyes. The Narrative is also about to change to, "Golden State is going to have to make a lot of adjustments in order to beat Milwaukee." Has anyone ever noticed that it never seems to be incumbent upon the other team to maybe try to come up with some adjustments when facing a team that is going for its third title in a row?
A more potentially misleading stat than wins? You don't even need to leave MLB. WAR is so ridiculous that it shouldn't even be called a statistic.
If I could sign Patrick Mahomes to a 10 year, $200M contract, I would be carried through the streets of Kansas City like a conquering hero.
Clay Travis never said that the Lakers should just trade LeBron or that it could actually be done. What he SAID was that if the Lakers wanted to most improve the team, LeBron would be the best option on the roster to trade.
If you can't address what Gotlieb said about LeBron on the same foundations as Gotlieb's argument, don't bring it up.
Day 2 of mischaracterizing what Clay Travis said. Does Gotlieb REALLY want us criticizing every mental exercise a broadcaster entertains based solely on the fact that it will never happen? I don't think that's a can of worms he wants to open on himself.
1) Nothing oxymoronic at all about that statement by the Cardinals GM. 2) Travis never said that a LeBron for Davis trade was possible. All he said was that if that trade could be made, he would make it. 3) Lastly in our parade of failure-to-understand, Gotlieb demonstrates his ignorance regarding the nuances of the flat tax.
"The problem is, fans are always working with dated information," he says before proceeding to base his arguments on Boogie Cousins' previous seasons. Also, remember that he's against instant replay destroying the flow of a game the next time he argues to expand it because "getting it right" is so important.
Of course there is a trade-off when deflating the ball, but when you don't really have a vertical passer, the down side of deflating balls is negligible. Reducing turnovers is key and the fumble stats for the Pats that season don't lie. That being said, I guess I see the team more as one that nibbles around the edges than one that flat-out cheats.
The expansion Cleveland Browns are 0-1 in playoff games.
