In Artifacts of Connection, artists Allyce Wood and Johanna Porter both explore cycles of creation, destruction, and renewal, reflecting the profound imprints left by nature, technology, and human touch. Through salvaged materials and layered assemblages, Porter channels spiritual experiences from the wilderness, while Wood merges digital and traditional weaving to connect past and present. Together, their works reclaim and transform materials and processes, blurring the boundaries between the natural and human-made, and inviting viewers to reconsider their connections to the physical and digital worlds.Artifacts of Connection is on view at Magnuson Park Gallery from January 23 - March 1, 2025.
