A conversation between Scott and his Mom... Mom - “Dad and I are sitting here talking and we think we’re ready to travel again and we want to know if you’d help us plan the trip because you’re really good at that stuff.” Scott - “That’s great! Where do you want to go?”  Mom - “Dad said he wants to go to Disneyland.” Scott was surprised because Dad isn’t a let’s go the Disney Parks type of guy. He doesn’t dislike it or anything….it’s just not what Scott expected to hear. Scott - “Disneyland?” And then joked, “When are we going?” Mom - “Oh, will you go with us? Please go with us.” Scott - “Mom, I was just kidding. I’m not crashing your vacation.” Mom - “Please go with us. You know your way around Disney. You’ll be able to help us. We love you and we don’t get to see you that much. Please go with us.” So back in April of 2015, Scott, his wife, and the kids did a California trip with some friends. They started in San Diego and then made their way up to San Francisco, making stops in Anaheim and Monterey. Scott's parents came in from Las Vegas and joined them in San Diego and at Disneyland but that was a while ago…so when his Mom asked him to join them on this trip, these thoughts raced through his mind: Mom recently turned 75, Dad just turned 82, things aren’t getting easier for them, and time keeps on moving despite Scott's best efforts to stop it. His parents live out west and Scott lives on the east coast. The three of them get along and they love spending time together. Scott also thought that Mom and Dad walking and navigating the parks would be a challenge...and he didn’t know if or when he'd have this chance again. And that’s how this trip came about. Enjoy Disneyland with Mom and Dad - Part 1...with some special surprises throughout! Hello, Guests and welcome to Birthday Trip to WDW - Part 2. In Part 1 last week, Scott talked about his first meal of the trip at Ronto Roasters, which is in Galaxy’s Edge, his first ride of the trip - Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular show and the time he spent with his friend, Kevin Brassard, after the show and the backstage tour Kevin gave him. Scott also talked about his actual birthday - January 30 - and how magical that day was because he got to spend time with some great friends - Billy, Russell, Dan, Shawn, and Karen. It was also magical because he had a Dole Whip Float with coconut rum! In today’s episode, Scott talks about his day at Universal with his friend and former podcast Guest, Jason Mangano, the amazing lunch he had at The Hollywood Brown Derby, his time with his pal, Bill Disbennett, at the Tri-Circle D Ranch, the After Hours at Magic Kingdom special ticket event, and so much more…including more fun audio recordings that he took on this trip!  Scott also does another round of "On This Day in Disney History," where he talks about some fun Disney history facts on the day a new episode drops. We know you're just going to love listening to the rest of Scott's recap in Birthday Trip to Walt Disney World - Part 2! Walt Disney said, “Happiness is a state of mind. It’s just according to the way you look at things.” In this episode, Scott does something a bit different from his interview and Magical Moments episodes…this is his first recap of a Disney trip! At the end of last year…last season…he said he was working on a few new things for Season 3, and this is one of them! Scott took a one-week trip to Walt Disney World at the end of January into early February and he's excited to tell you all about it! Another new thing he's doing this season is "On This Day in Disney History," where he’ll be giving some fun Disney history facts on the day a new episode drops. One more thing that’s new for this episode is Scott recorded some fun audio clips throughout his trip and will be sprinkling them throughout so it'll feel like you're on the trip with him! These clips were taken in the moment…they were unrehearsed and his friend, Russell Fox, whom you’ll hear more about during this episode, inspired him to do that. Without any further ado, enjoy Birthday Trip to Walt Disney World - Part 1! To all who come to this happy podcast, welcome. Hi, I’m Scott Jacobs and I’m a huge Disney fan…so much so that I created this podcast and I am super excited about the Season 3 premiere of The Mouse and Me which will be hitting the airwaves in February!  For Season 3, I’m working on a few new things, one of which is a new segment called “On This Day In Disney History” where I’ll be telling you some fun Disney history facts on the day a new episode drops. Fun Fact - there are 2 "On This Day In Disney History" facts in this Season 3 Trailer! :) For this season, I’ll also be producing more Magical Moments episodes. If you haven’t already, please subscribe to the show, rate it, leave a review, and tell all of your friends…but only if you like it. If you didn’t like it, please…tell your enemies! Hello, Guests, and welcome to Dining at The Disneyland Resort - another Magical Moments episode of The Mouse and Me! This episode is the second part of Dining at Disney. Because there’s so much ground to cover as far as food at Disney is concerned, Scott is breaking this information down into two Magical Moments. This week is all about Dining at Walt Disney World! Be sure to listen to next week’s episode where he'll be talking about Dining at the Disneyland Resort! Scott will also give tips on how to deal with dietary restrictions, how to eat for less, mobile ordering, dress codes, and more for both Walt Disney World and The Disneyland Resort! There are literally hundreds of restaurants and places to eat at Walt Disney World and, sadly, Scott has not been to all of them…yet. In this Magical Moments, Scott talks about the places where he, personally, has eaten. He starts with the theme parks and then talks about his dining experiences at Disney Springs and the different Disney Resort Hotels. Here are some amazing food quotes to get you even MORE in the mood for this Magical Moments: "My doctor told me I had to stop throwing intimate dinners for four unless there are three other people.” - Orson Wells "I cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to the food." - W.C. Fields “Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first." - Ernestine Ulmer “A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand." - Barbara Johnson “People who love to eat are always the best people." - Julia Child “We all eat, and it would be a sad waste of opportunity to eat badly.” - Anna Thomas If you have any questions about Dining Reservations for either Walt Disney World or Disneyland, click on one of these links:  Walt Disney World: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/dining-reservations/restaurant-reservation-cancellation/ Disneyland: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/dining/canceling-reservation/ Email: TheMouseAndMePodcast@gmail.com Support: www.patreon.com/themouseandme FB & Instagram: The Mouse and Me TikTok: @TheMouseAndMePodcast Twitter: @MouseMePodcast Music by Kevin MacLeod from https://incompetech.filmmusic.io  --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/themouseandme/support
Last week, Kevin and Scott had a blast chatting about Kevin's 38-year and counting career at Walt Disney World. He shared about his audition for the role of Indiana Jones and some extreme detail about Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular including the 9-month training he went through to get the show up on its feet, some high profile guests who saw the show, and what it’s like cracking a whip, running from a boulder, and dodging punches from a 6’7” giant. This week, Kevin and Scott continue their talk about what it was like to walk the red carpet and spend time with Harrison Ford during the premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in LA. They also talk about Hidden Mickeys, visiting the parks with kids, why Kevin likes working for THE WALT DISNEY Company, and so much more.    We hope you enjoy your morning routine, your drive to wherever you’re going, your workout at the gym, your power walk, jog, or run, your walk with the dog, or whatever you’re doing right now as you listen to Part 2 with Kevin Brassard!  Email: TheMouseAndMePodcast@gmail.com Support: www.patreon.com/themouseandme FB & Instagram: The Mouse and Me TikTok: @TheMouseAndMePodcast Twitter: @MouseMePodcast Music by Kevin MacLeod from https://incompetech.filmmusic.io --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/themouseandme/support
