At the age of 45, seven time grand slam winner Venus Williams broke the Australian Open record as the oldest-ever women’s player in the tournament’s history. Williams first competed in the Australian Open when she was 17, three years before her opponent, 24-year-old Olga Danilovic was born. Even though Williams ultimately lost the match, she walked off the court to a standing ovation with a big smile and wave, saying she was really proud of her effort because she’s playing better with each match. The Pentagon has reportedly readied 1500 cold weather special troops to deploy to the streets of Minneapolis to assist the already 3 thousand immigration officers on the ground. Meantime, Governor Tim Walz has said he has the Minnesota National Guard on standby to also go in and protect the streets, potentially setting up a disturbing scenario of federal troops and state troops with very different agendas. Moments after newly installed CBS evening news anchor Tony Dokoupil interviewed President Trump this week, Karoline Leavitt demanded the entire 13 minute interview air, unedited or else. Major news outlets are reporting this morning the DOJ is criminally investigating Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey for impeding immigration enforcement through their public statements after the shooting death of Renee Good. This major headline comes after a judge issued a restraining order, banning ICE agents from retaliating against peaceful protesters. And while President Trump seemed to back slightly away from his threat of invoking the Insurrection Act, he reminded Minnesotans that he will use it if he needs to, in the coming days. The au pair at the center of the Brendan Banfield aggravated murder trial finished a grueling day of cross examination late Wednesday, and at times she grew visibly frustrated with the line of questioning. 25-year-old Juliana Peres Magalhães repeatedly told Banfield’s defense attorney that she could not remember key moments in the planning and lead up to the murders. A comic who is very boring to listen to.
O.M.G. at the ignorance of these people talking about Kyle Rittenhouse. They clearly didn't watch the whole trial, just what the msm that only showed of the prosecution, not the defense, and their ignorance of guns, and the situation...("assault rifle!? please!, mom drove him there?! please!) I can't imagine putting this frame of a story out for the world while being so ill-informed- it's not only pathetic but dangerous.
more stories, less banter.
Superbly good podcast.
