Dear Humans, We have a fantastic new episode of The God Pod for you today, in which friend of the show and one of our favorite Humans, comedian and radio host John Fugelsang returns to our studio! John has been one of the most outspoken proponents of what Jesus’ teachings REALLY mean, and how they should not be twisted into hateful messages. His new book, Separation of Church and Hate, gives YOU an easy and fun guide to battling your crazy MAGA Uncle. In his book, which hits store shelves September 9, you’ll learn how to take back control of the Bible and carry Jesus’ messages of hope, inclusion, and a better tomorrow. On a personal note, Jesus and I are extremely touched by how John has been a big fan of our work. Him and us have a lot in common concerning our goals and our hopes for the future. The three of us want to make crystal clear the messages the Bible intended to teach society. Truly, we cannot wait to have his book as a resource that we’ll use ourselves when fighting Human nutjobs! Check out this episode of the show and learn how John became inspired to write this book, how his family made him who he is today, his thoughts on the latest political news, what lessons you’ll receive from his book and much more. And don’t miss out on Separation of Church and Hate: A Sane Person's Guide to Taking Back the Bible from Fundamentalists, Fascists, and Flock-Fleecing Frauds when it blesses book shelves on September 9! Letters from God is a reader-supported publication. Please consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. P.S. Jesus and I stream LIVE every weekday at 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT. Show up to thegodpodcast.com at that time and we will be there. And remember to add The God Pod wherever you get your podcasts, whether it is Apple , Spotify, or anywhere else.
Dear Humans, September kicks off with a bang on the God Pod, because Jesus and I welcomed the one and only Zainab Johnson! You might know her from Amazon Prime’s Upload — a show God has secretly been obsessed with for years. (Yes, even I fangod from time to time.) We talked about everything from her AI chatbot overlords, to my bad standup material on air travel, to why billionaires are so desperate to cheat death. Zainab also shared her thoughts on the Trump Administration and explained why Upload is the perfect show for this awful moment we’re living through. She’s brilliant, she’s funny, and she even made us blush by asking for a selfie at the end. This one was a blast. Don’t miss it. Love, God PS - This show only exists because good people like you decided to back it. Are you with me? No, seriously, are you? If you are, it’s long past time to step up. Take 25% off before midnight and get in the fight!!
Dear Humans, I was recently joined by Emmy-winning actress Nancy Lee Grahn (who you may know from General Hospital, and Santa Barbara) for an unfiltered conversation about career, politics, and democracy. We had a great time discussing how she balanced motherhood with a demanding acting career—and never missed a parent-teacher conference. She also opened up about her outspoken political voice on social media and the risks of speaking truth to power in Hollywood. Plus, Nancy and I dug into the danger of apathy in politics—and why voting matters more than ever. It’s always heartwarming to talk with someone who cares as much as I do! Nancy shares why she believes every person—famous or not—has a responsibility to speak up, so please enjoy this new episode of The God Pod! Love, God
Dear Humans, I hope you enjoy this latest episode of the God Pod because it is a powerful one about how to actually fight fascism. Every listen, every like, every share helps spread these conversations further, so I hope you will watch and enjoy it. And thank you. To everyone reading, whether you are a free subscriber who shows up every day or a paid subscriber who keeps this whole thing alive, you are the reason we can keep going. This week Jesus and I were joined by Dana of Visibility Brigade and Peter of Utah Overpass Action, two leaders of a movement that now stretches across all 50 states with more than 250 brigades. They are the people you may have seen standing on overpasses, holding banners that cut through despair and reach hundreds of thousands of eyes every single day. Dana told us how he first got involved and why he keeps showing up. Peter shared how Utah Overpass Action was born this year when he felt hopeless, and how it has grown into a network that gives people courage. We talked about the number of people who see these banners, how discipline and safety guide their work, and why these simple but visible acts of defiance matter. What struck me most is how ordinary humans have built something extraordinary. This is not about fame or politics. It is about everyday people refusing to be silent, reminding America that the fight is not over. Every time a driver passes under one of those bridges and sees a banner, the spell of fascist inevitability is broken. Be sure to visit Visibility Brigade to learn how to get started, and check out Utah Overpass Action! They’re on social media, including Instagram and Bluesky. Bless everyone who participates in these types of movements! Stay safe! Keep up the fight! Love, God P.S. Jesus and I stream LIVE every weekday at 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT. Come hang out with us. And remember to add The God Pod wherever you get your podcasts, whether it is Apple , Spotify, or anywhere else.
Dear Humans, Today Jesus and I got to sit down with the one and only Jodie Sweetin. Yes, that Jodie Sweetin, Stephanie Tanner from Full House and Fuller House. She is still keeping busy, still making us laugh, and now hosting her own re-watch podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos! We talked about her activism in Los Angeles, the emotional night she honored Bob Saget, and how American life somehow went from being Full House to feeling like fucking Andor. Jodie shared what it was like to grow up in front of the camera, and how she has built a life beyond the shows that made her famous. The best part is how easily she fit in with me and Jesus, like she had been hanging out with us for years. We laughed, we reminisced, and we found some hope in the middle of all this madness. So give this one a listen. It is a conversation full of heart, humor, and a little holy mischief. Love, God P.S. Jesus and I stream LIVE every weekday at 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT. Come hang out with us. And remember to add The God Pod wherever you get your podcasts, whether it is Apple , Spotify, or anywhere else.
Dear Humans, I thought it would be nice to take a break from the doom and gloom, so I laughed My Ass off with one of My favorite actors. Thank you to our subscribers who made this possible! Please subscribe now if you can. Jesus and I got a little taste of the Hollywood red carpet this week when we attended a press junket to speak with actor and comedian Ben Feldman! Mr. Feldman has a new animated series coming to Netflix called Long Story Short, and considering it’s by the creator of the incredible series Bojack Horseman, it looks like it’s a series not to be missed. I loved that show! We Discuss: The Superstore and Mad Men star reveals why Long Story Short may be his favorite role yet, and why he’s so excited to talk about this show. Ben explains why COVID storylines were a hot topic in Hollywood. Ben’s hilariously candid take on parenting two young kids. Why animation allows more creative freedom than live-action TV. What it’s like to have this show renewed for Season 2 before it even airs. If God could prevent The Big One from hitting the Los Angeles area any time soon. Don’t forget: God and Jesus stream daily. Great episode overall. I loved the Irish accents. They were making me laugh the whole time. I was disappointed that they cut off Blessings And Smites from Santa. Santa is hilarious, and his Blessings And Smites make me laugh every time. Now, I feel like the episode is unfinished.
I never thought i would ever listen to a podcast with god in the title but im glad i did yes it's juvenile but also funny, topical and easy to listen to if god did exist hopefully he would be more like this 😊
