With the MLB regular season coming to a close, Tyler goes solo to discuss the A’s, the playoff picture and the biggest storylines from around the league. He begins by looking back at an A’s season derailed by injuries and explains why the team will face much more pressure to succeed next year. With exciting young talent reaching the majors and several important players expected to return from injury, it will be time for the A’s to take a meaningful step forward. Tyler then breaks down every division leader, including the Tampa Bay Rays, Cleveland Guardians and Texas Rangers in the American League, along with the Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves in the National League. He also examines the Wild Card picture and the teams preparing to compete in October. To close the show, Tyler names his biggest surprise teams of the season, discusses why the A’s and Giants were among baseball’s greatest disappointments, gives his favorites for MVP and Cy Young in both leagues, and reveals the matchup he would most like to see in the World Series. This episode is all about how the A's have almost all the pieces to be a great team but are missing one of the most important parts... a decent bullpen. As Tyler shares in this episode he attended the A's vs Rays game on Monday night where starter Jacob Lopez dominated 7 innings of dazzling pitches and the A's offense showed up scoring 6 runs but the 8th inning came around and it got bad fast... the A's bullpen allowed 8 runs in the 8th inning to really capture the identity of this team this season in another disappointing loss late in the game.
