MWBA Commissioner Tasia McKenna joins us to chat about how she became involved in the league, the first season, and what the future holds. Tasia takes us through the four pillars of the league: To stand up against anti-Black racism and anti-Indigenous racism, to be allies within the 2SLGBTQ+ community, and to support persons with disabilities. Amplifying the female voice within the game, this season-long podcast presents a fresh ecosystem filled with hoops personality, success stories and educating social perspectives. NOW’S THE TIME for this cultural sports space seeded throughout Atlantic Canada to take flight. Tipping off in 2022, players over 19 will fill MWBA rosters spanning New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. With this new elite league comes unique opportunity for players, coaches, officials, minor officials, team executives and fans to nurture dreams on and off the court.
