Per Requested, this is the first update on Practicing What I Preach. I give a periodic update on how I'm navigating through a difficult health diagnosis.
I've taken some time off but am back for another season of The MoveonPast Podcast. In this season (#5), I am covering conversations with fellow counselors and advisors in the areas of STRUGGLE and how to bear it, resolve it, and/or thrive in it. In this episode I talk with my associate Eva Herriman. We talk about counselors seeking counseling and what we look for in a counselor and how to best approach the counseling process. Would like to hear from you and know what you think about counseling, topics of interest to you and questions. If you like the podcast, please subscribe and rate us. As a podcaster and licensed professional counselor, I will not solicit you for anything. I do this podcast for the purposes of educating and sharing information with my community. This episode is a segment from a summit conference to assist first responders and military personnel deal with trauma. Dr. Stephanie Smith is interviewed by Shannon VanderZwaag founder of Love, Laugh, Lead and provider of coaching services at Legendary Phoenix.  In this interview Dr. Smith shares how our bodies cope with trauma. 
This guided meditation is geared toward slowing thoughts. If you happen to have trouble getting your brain to stop it's chatter, practice this meditation to assist in gaining the ability to shift your mind's focus.

We talk about a few strategies and ways to communicate more positively with our partners. Sara shares Gottman practices that tend to help us talk with our partners more lovingly and thoughtfully when we are stressed and overwhelmed with emotion.
