Description

Welcome to Perelel Lives, a podcast where we learn about the tireless yet vibrantly challenging role the women we admire most live in parallel to their careers and personal pursuits: becoming and being a mom.

We live in a society that glamorizes and celebrates women‘s careers, the companies they’ve built, and the movements they’ve created. But, what we’ve failed to highlight is a facet of their lives that is far more personal—a side that presents perhaps the hardest, but most rewarding job of all—a job with no PTO, no holiday breaks, no sick days, and no salary. Oh, and it also lasts a lifetime: motherhood. Here, we have real conversations about motherhood. (Not another parenting podcast.)

This podcast is presented by Perelel, the first & only OB/GYN-founded vitamin brand for women offering targeted nutrition for each stage of womanhood. Learn more at PerelelHealth.com and use code PODCAST20 for 20% off your first month.

Today’s episode of Perelel Lives is a special dad edition in honor of Father’s Day. Our guest is none other than Miles Garber, host and founder of Call Me Dada, a media platform and podcast that aims to educate, inspire, and start a conversation about modern fatherhood. Miles is a longtime favorite of ours over here at Perelel because of his vulnerability and mission of helping other dads feeling alienated or afraid in the parenthood journey. He’s a dad to his daughter, Maxime, and is currently writing his soon-to-debut book, Call Me Dada, about his own story and realizations. He also offers one-on-one coaching for other dads and dads-to-be. We talk about becoming a parent from a dad's POV, how the male brain changes in fatherhood, and how we can all better support our partners and dads. It’s an insightful conversation that we’re sure you’re going to love.
Today's guest is Stephanie Kramer. She is the Chief Human Resources Officer at L’Oréal and a mom of two. And an author of the new book, Carry Strong. She had her first son, William, while working at Chanel, Inc. and her second, James, at Kiehl’s. When looking at her journey, she wanted to create a resource for other women navigating their careers while also starting families. The book includes original resources, expert advice and real-life stories from professional athletes, CEOs, and hundreds of amazing mothers across the country who outline the answers to some of the most surprising, challenging, and nuanced questions that arrive about pregnancy and work. Today we discuss Stephanie's experience and how it shaped the book. And we answer some of your most pressing questions about pregnancy and work.
Our next guest needs no introduction, but we’ll give it to you anyway. In today’s episode, we chatted with Catt Sadler, renowned for her work on E! Entertainment, where she spent over a decade as a host and a regular fixture on the red carpet. Today, she hosts and produces her own weekly podcast: It Sure is a Beautiful Day and launched a personal video series, Midlife & Me. We chatted about her pregnancy experience after being diagnosed with an incompetent cervix, navigating Agoraphobia while postpartum, how she walked away from E! after finding out her salary was half of what her male counterpart was making, perimenopause and more.
Today’s guest is Neha Ruch, the founder of Mother Untitled—the first platform exclusively focused on empowering women as they navigate career breaks in motherhood. Before becoming a mom herself, Neha spent ten years in brand strategy and received her MBA from Stanford Business School. She then decided to downshift and become a stay-at-home mom after welcoming her first child. The experience was a catalyst for her to launch her own platform aimed at redefining what it means to be a stay-at-home mom and providing support for other women in the middle of their own career pivot. We talked about what we need to do as a society to better support our caregivers, the motherhood penalty (a sobering phenomenon for working mothers), reexamining what purpose looks like, identity shifts, and so much more.
