In today's episode I'll be talking about the beautiful city of Nottingham- its SNOTTING history and what to do and see while you're there (Hint DON'T listen to TIK TOK). I’ll also be sharing an interesting conversation I had with one of Nottingham’s most famous residents, Robin Hood. Over the course of 700 years, the outlaw from Nottingham who robs from the rich to give to the poor has emerged as one of the most enduring folk heroes–and one of the most versatile. But how has the legend evolved over time, and did a real Robin Hood inspire these classic tales? You have to listen to find out!
I'm so excited to finally be back on here and to share with you a few things about England. There is SO much to talk about, so today is going to be a brief overview.  I’ll be talking about my personal experience as a solo traveler jumping (or maybe slowly dipping my toes) into England as well as my top 5 things here I have a love/Hate relationship with here. It’s a little bit of motivation and a little bit of humor, so stick around until the end.
In today’s episode I have the pleasure of sitting down with my best friend, travel companion, rodeo queen, and master scuba diver, Courtney Miskell. You’ll hear us talk about our 10 day trip to the Middle East, which began with an impromptu 12 hour excursion in Barcelona. You’ll hear Courtney talk about her conversion to Judaism, how that played a significant role in her experience, and how visiting Palestine gave her a deeper understanding of the conflict that exists between the two places. We will end by detailing what it took to cross the border between Israel and Jordan, and the amazing undeveloped scenery that awaited us on the other side. Though the sound quality is not the best (sorry, still learning over here) , and you can hear us getting a little more inebriated as the night wares on, this was one of the most fun episodes to make. It really showcases the benefits of traveling with a buddy. Not only is there safety in numbers, but travel buddies can help you get through the tougher moments of a trip and then remind you what happened later.
Ep. 4: My Origin Story

Ep. 4: My Origin Story

2022-06-0822:12

People love to ask me, "What's your favorite?" when the learn I've been to 30+ countries, but no one has ever asked me, "how?" Today, I'm going to share just that- in my origin story. Listen to see how I was able to travel to 30 countries in 10 years and a few things I learned along the way.
Airports. Is there a more terrifying place? Crowds. Lines. Germs. TSA. And the ever constant dread that you are running out of time? Did I Forgot something? Am I at the wrong gate? It is more turbulent than turbulence. Even small airports have caused me to be a complete wreck before and I know I’m not the only one who has experienced this, so today, I’m going to show you how you can start the process towards a more healthy relationship with airports.
Today's episode is slightly different. I will be opening up my travel blog vault and reading aloud to you. There are 3 simple rules for this read loud, however. #1: It must be at least 10 years old. #2: I can't read it ahead of time to prepare and #3. I'll be drinking while I share my tale. Today's episode takes place in the blue city of Jodhpur, India. The year is 2010, and 20 year old Emily is 27 days into a volunteer trip to India. It's her first ever international trip, not to mention her first ever experience teaching- but today, the blog I'll be reading aloud isn't about either of those things- It's about magic, and a weekend trip that would involve great food, music, a camel ride through the desert, and 3 mysterious male travelers. What lessons will young Emily learn during this trip? And just what do I think about it, looking back 12 years later?

Social media has dramatically changed the way we connect with one another, and with the world. It is our gateway to the globe, and grants people access to information and resources they otherwise wouldn’t have. But it's not all positive. While the social media revolution has made it possible for people to experience more of the world, there is also a darker side, and an argument that it is actually killing true wanderlust. How do you avoid traveling under the social influence? Find out today, in our first ever Rerouted episode. For more information about our stay in Iceland, see my Instagram @reroutedtravel
