Matt and Chris took some listener questions this episode, including about our own comics, the price point of monthly comics, our dream entrance music, and much more!
Let's get Raw once again! This time around, we're talking about moments featuring Judge Dredd, Magneto, the Transformers, and yes, a Dragon Ball character.
To honor the legendary Akira Toriyama, we read a story from Dragon Ball Super that Chris says embodies everything great about Dragon Ball! And guess what? It ruled.
Yes, it's time for Thor #25! Not only do Thor and Thanos do battle in this monumental issue, but Mangog gets got. We go through it all beat by beat.
Our close personal friends Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum are back on the show this week to talk all things Minor Threats: the second volume of the main series, The Fastest Way Down, and the upcoming Barfly! Plus, we get into the weird, for-heads-only comics we love!
Spring is here, and it's time once again to rank comic book stories! This time, we've got some Batman, some early Fantastic Four, and yes, Witchblade.
One of the co-founders of the comics crowdfunding platform Zoop, Jordan Plosky, joins us for the show this week to talk about his own crowdfunding/capital campaign, the comic that made him love comics, staying creator-focused, and a whole lot more!

Episode 673 - Raw 3:16

2024-03-1801:36:01

Time to get Raw once again! We're celebrating 3:16 day (a little late) by ranking some of comics' rawest moments, including some involving Goku and Batman!
Matt and Chris read the first arc of Gail SImone's 2013 run on Red Sonja, and simply couldn't help comparing it to other things, even though it's probably unfair.
Longtime friend of the show Jeremy Whitley returns this week to ostensibly talk about his new book The Cold Ever After, but mostly end up discussing AEW Revolution!
We're reading the Dan Jurgens/John Romita Jr. run on Thor once again, and we're building up to the big clash in #25 as Thanos collects the artifacts (and one person) he needs to unleash a wave of death across the cosmos! Covering Thor Annual 2000 and #22-24.
After doing some list cleanup, we're back to ranking comics! Including a very, very bad Justice League story.
Longtime pal Kel McDonald returns to the show this week to talk about their new book, Murky Water, which is funding now on Kickstarter! Plus: what kind of Pokemon gyms we would have, werewolf songs, and the differences between fantasy and sci-fi!
The writer and artist of the new book Mary Tyler Moorehawk returns to the show this week to talk about taking a big swing on a project, footnotes, Star Trek rawness, how jokes evolve, and a whole lot more!
We're finally reading Al Ewing and (mostly) Stefano Caselli's Arrako-based X-Men book, and spoiler: It rips.
A special Sunday record, a special live-to-tape episode where we answer your questions!
It's time once again to dive into the Dan Jurgens run on Thor, and this time, we're wrapping up the Enchanters story and digging into what might just be the peak of the run: The Thanos arc! Covering Thor (1998) #17-21.
It's time once again to rank comic book stories, starting with one Matt promised to revisit last time: Emperor Doom!
Episode 666 - Raw as Hell

Episode 666 - Raw as Hell

2024-01-2902:02:09

It's a special Thursday Night Raw episode, as we rank listener-submitted comics moments specifically about the devil, hell, and demons!
The founders of the Jack Kirby Museum join us for this week's show to talk about their new collection of the Sky Masters of the Space Force Sunday strips, plus lots more Kirby stuff!
