Oilers trade rumours and Baggedmilk's Olympic triviaIt's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers at the Olympics, Team Canada's line combinations, a potential trade idea for Andrew Mangiapane, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the L.A. Dodgers and how the odds for them to win the NL West in the MLB are so heavily skewed that it almost doesn't make sense to bet on. That led to a similar conversation about whether Canada vs. USA is a lock to meet in the men's finals, and whether being the two best teams in the tournament on paper means this will be the matchup. Changing gears, we looked at the line combinations for Team Canada on the men's side. Given that Team Canada is pretty close to icing an all-star team, it was fun to hear the boys' thoughts on who will be playing where. They also looked at the advanced betting lines ahead of Thursday's game against Czechia and how everyone thinks the team will fare despite the different style of hockey played in international tournaments. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Olympics-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your Olympic Winter Games history? This round of trivia was for you. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!! 🙌👍🏼Powered by @bet365 – Whatever the moment, it’s Never Ordinary at bet365. Ask Dubey is back for episode 32!Before diving into your Oilers questions, Dubey reacts to the wild Stadium Series matchup between the Lightning and Bruins — including an old-school goalie fight at center ice between Jeremy Swayman and Andrei Vasilevskiy. A rare sight, even rarer that both goalies stayed in the game. Dubey breaks down why moments like that fire everyone up, and why goalie fights are still such a tricky situation in today’s NHL.From there, it’s straight into your questions. Who’s really to blame in a blowout — the goalie or the team in front of him? Can players mentally drift with the Olympics right around the corner? And of course, the big one Oilers fans are debating right now: did Edmonton make a mistake trading for Tristan Jarry?Dubey gives a calm, honest breakdown of the Oilers’ goaltending situation, why the Skinner change needed to happen, and why fans shouldn’t be riding the emotional roller coaster on a game-to-game basis. Perspective, context, and goalie logic — all in one episode.Drop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey in the comments or on any OilersNation social platform.0:00 – Stadium Series chaos & goalie fight reaction2:40 – Who’s really responsible for blowout losses?5:23 – Do players mentally check out before the Olympics?7:55 – Did the Oilers make a mistake trading for Jarry?12:01 – Final thoughts & how to submit your questionsDrop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey or leave them in the comments below 👇SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!👍🏼Powered by @bet365. It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' disastrous wrap to their pre-Olympic schedule, Leon Draisaitl's coaching comments, line combos, and more. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Paul Coffey rumours after some rumblings came over the last handful of days that the Oilers could be considering bringing the Hall of Famer back behind the bench. Given how successful the defence was under Coffey's tenure, the boys on the podcast all believe it would make perfect sense to bring him back and see if he can work magic again.Shifting gears, the guys looked at the Oilers' horrible finish before the break and how incredibly frustrating it was to watch them finally land their first three-game win streak of the season, only to give those games right back immediately. That led the boys to wonder if there are more coaching issues than just what's happening on defence. We also discussed the losses to Toronto and Calgary and how frustrating both results were, given Edmonton's opportunity to pick up points against struggling teams. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season past the midway points, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!! 🙌👍🏼 Powered by @bet365 – Whatever the moment, it’s Never Ordinary at bet365.Download the app today and use promo code: NATIONhttp://www.bet365.ca/👍🏼 Swiss Donair:https://swissdonair.com/ Hosted on Acast. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' record against the best teams, Connor McDavid's Players' Tribune article, Calvin Pickard clearing waivers, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about how concerned everyone is that the Oilers can't seem to beat the best teams in the Western Conference. If you look at the six games played against Colorado, Dallas, and Minnesota, the Oilers earned only a single point out of a possible 12. As you'll hear, some of the boys are more concerned about the trend than others, but the reality is that the numbers are the numbers, and right now they're not very good.Changing gears, we looked at Connor McDavid's Players' Tribune article and noted that the title "Dear Canada" could have been a love letter to Edmonton. Turning back to the Oilers, we looked at Calvin Pickard clearing waivers this week, and what that means for the team's goaltending depth going forward. The guys also discussed the Artemi Panarin rumours after David Pagnotta reported on Oilersnation Everyday that the Oilers could be in the mix for the sniper. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. Ask Dubey Episode 31 is here, and there’s a LOT to get into — from historic Oilers defencemen performances to big-picture questions about goaltending, free agents, and life in Edmonton.Dubey kicks things off by showing love to the Oilers’ blue line after back-to-back hat tricks from defencemen (yes, really), breaking down Evan Bouchard’s Bouch Bombs and Mattias Ekholm’s unreal highlight-reel goals. If the Oilers can get even half of this kind of production from the back end consistently, it could be a massive boost heading toward playoff time. From there, Dubey answers your questions, including:• Has Jarry officially earned the Oilers’ starting job?• Where does Edmonton’s goaltending duo rank across the NHL?• How valuable is having a true goalie tandem in an Olympic, condensed schedule year?• Has Edmonton become a more desirable destination for free agents?• How different is the city now compared to Dubey’s playing days?We also get some great storytelling as Dubey shares his most memorable moments as an Oiler, including his NHL debut in Vancouver, a wild win in LA that helped earn a one-way contract, and getting the opening-night start against Pittsburgh. As always, this episode is packed with insight, honesty, and a few laughs along the way.Drop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey or leave them in the comments below 👇SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!👍🏼Powered by @bet365. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' win over the Sharks, the Bobby McMann trade rumours, Connor McDavid's heater, line combos, and more. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Oilers' bottom six and how Kris Knoblauch can get more out of those players even though they're playing limited minutes. From finding roles for players who don't play much to stripping back the minutes for McDavid and Draisaitl, the boys offered their take on what the coaching staff can do to get more guys involved. On the other hand, is this even a problem?Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's win over the San Jose Sharks and how the Oilers pulled off a third-period miracle to win their third game in a row. Starting with Kris Knoblauch pulling the goalie with four minutes left, the guys talked about where they were and how they felt when they saw the Oilers throw up the Hail Mary. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' record-setting run by defencemen, Josh Samanski's NHL debut, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Josh Samanski's NHL debut, and how everyone thought the undrafted centre fared in his first game as an Oiler. While he played only 7:43 in TOI, Samanski was noticeable in his first game in the bigs, and the boys spent a few minutes talking about how he didn't look out of place. Given that he played two years of pro hockey in Germany, it definitely looked like he was comfortable playing in that third-line role.Changing gears, we looked at how the Oilers set two NHL records in Monday's game against the Ducks. Starting with the four goals by defencemen in a span of only 3:49, it was wild to see Edmonton's d-men getting into the rush with that much space as often as they were. From there, we looked at the back-to-back hat tricks by Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm, and how it was the first time in NHL history where two defencemen scored hat tricks in consecutive games. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. Ask Dubey is back, and Episode 28 dives into elite goaltending, goalie development, and some big-picture questions around the Edmonton Oilers’ crease.Devan Dubnyk kicks things off by breaking down Tristan Jarry’s unreal highlight-reel save, why athletic “street hockey” moments still matter for goalies, and what makes that play so special from a goalie’s perspective. From there, Dubey tackles fan questions ranging from rebound control and goalie pad technology to the state of Canadian goaltending and what the Oilers should do with their goalie situation when everyone is healthy. In this episode of Ask Dubey, Devan breaks down:• Why Tristan Jarry’s save against New Jersey was so impressive — and how it compares to saves Dubey made in his own career• The idea behind modern goalie pads, rebounds, and whether big rebounds are actually a problem• Why elite goaltending pipelines seem to be shifting away from Canada• The differences in goalie development between Canada, Europe, and the U.S.• What the Edmonton Oilers should do with their goalies at full health• Why carrying three goalies could actually benefit Edmonton down the stretchIf you’re a goalie, a die-hard Oilers fan, or someone who loves the details behind how the position is evolving, this episode is for you.Have a question you want Devan Dubnyk to answer on a future episode? It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' loss to the Islanders, the end of Connor McDavid's point streak, Edmonton's goaltending dilemma, line combos, and more. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether or not the Oilers are blowing their January homestand. Given that they've lost twice as many home games as they've won, it's hard not to think that Edmonton is dropping the ball on a golden opportunity to make up some ground in the standings. Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins and wondered how much of that loss the boys hung on Tristan Jarry, given that he allowed six goals on the night. While no one is saying Jarry was very good, the reality is that the skaters in front of him were just as bad, if not worse. We also discussed Leon Draisaitl's return to the lineup, and how it was a valiant effort by Drai, considering the heavy week he had and the long travel back from Germany. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 1000th game, back-to-back shutouts, Kasperi Kapanen's injury, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about when the Oilers might consider talking to Connor Ingram about an extension. Given that our new friend has been playing incredibly well since his recall from Bakersfield, it's fair to wonder whether or when the organization might start thinking about keeping him around for a while. Is it too soon? How much would the boys be willing to offer the goalie in a new contract?Changing gears, we looked at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 1000th game that happened at Rogers Place on Thursday night, and how the team did a fantastic job paying tribute to their longest serving player. From the pre-game ceremony to scoring the eventual game winner, it was a wonderful night at Rogers Place and one the guys were thrilled to discuss. Changing gears, the boys looked at the Andrew Mangiapane situation and whether or not there's any way the Oilers can save the relationship. Is that even in the cards? Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Devils-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your New Jersey history? Ask Dubey episode 29 is here and Devan Dubnyk is diving into some awesome stories and NHL insight. This week, Dubey talks about what it’s really like playing in drastically different hockey markets, relives some of his career-best saves, and reacts to Connor McDavid’s insane 20-game point streak. From the pressure of Canadian markets to the vibe in smaller NHL cities, Dubnyk breaks down how market size changes everything for players, goalies, and teams. He also walks us through a few of his most memorable saves and what’s going through a goalie’s mind in those high-pressure moments. Then, it’s all about Connor McDavid. Dubnyk gives a goalie’s perspective on trying to stop a player on a 20-game point streak, what makes McDavid so dangerous every single night, and how rare this kind of run really is in today’s NHL.Have a question you want Devan Dubnyk to answer on a future episode? On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' loss to the Islanders, the end of Connor McDavid's point streak, Edmonton's goaltending dilemma, line combos, and more. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Oilers' goaltending situation and tried to figure out how the team will solve it. Given that carrying three goaltenders is less than ideal, the organization will eventually have to make a decision. Given how well Ingram has played since being recalled, it seems completely unlikely that Connor Ingram will be the one to go, but it's clear that the organization still respects what Calvin Pickard has done in his time here. Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's loss to the New York Islanders, and Ilya Sorokin absolutely robbed them of two points by standing on his head. Given how well New York's goalie played, it's almost impossible to be too upset about the result, but that didn't stop the boys from being slightly annoyed anyway. They also discussed Andrew Mangiapane being a healthy scratch again and looked at what it will take to get him either in the mix or out of the market. On today's episode, the guys discussed Connor McDavid's heater, Tristan Jarry and Jake Walman's return, Quinn Hutson's new contract, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about why the Oilers can't seem to win three games in a row, despite having eight chances to do so. While it's not a big deal because the team is winning more games than it loses, it is bizarre that the Oilers can't seem to string wins together. For an additional delicious debate, we looked at Edmonton's goaltending situation and took a few swings at when the three-headed monster situation will be resolved.Changing gears, we looked at last night's 4-1 win over Chicago and gave Connor Ingram the flowers he deserves for a fantastic performance between the pipes. Despite the scoreline ending as a three-goal Oilers win, the result would have been much different without Ingram's brilliance. We also discussed Connor McDavid's 19-game point streak and how this run has been so dominant that every other team is dying to find out how to stop him. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With Dan on vacation and none of the other boys coming up with anything, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Predators-related questions. Ask Dubey episode 28 is here, and we’re going deep into the mental side of being a pro athlete. Devan Dubnyk opens up about the real mental struggles of being an NHL goalie, how anxiety shows up in high-pressure moments, and what finally changed the way he approached the game between the ears.Dubnyk also weighs in on Connor McDavid’s ridiculous post-Christmas heater and how the Edmonton Oilers have been playing since the break. In this episode of Ask Dubey, Devan breaks down:• The moment that completely changed how he approached the mental side of goaltending• How his mindset shifted after his time in Edmonton and how his game grew because of it• The reality of performance anxiety as a goalie and why it hits different in the crease• Practical ways players and goalies can deal with anxiety and pressure on and off the ice• Why mental preparation, routines, and self-talk matter just as much as physical training• His thoughts on Connor McDavid’s major heater and the Oilers’ play after the Christmas breakIf you’re a goalie, a player, or just a fan who’s curious about what’s really going on behind the mask, this one’s for you.Have a question you want Devan Dubnyk to answer on a future episode? It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Tristan Jarry's injury, the Oilers' recall of Isaac Howard and Quinn Hutson, additional injury updates, line combos, and more. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Connor McDavid's 17-game point streak and whether this is the best the boys have ever seen him play. Given that the captain has produced a mind-boggling 41 points over that stretch is absolutely ridiculous, but is this the best hockey he's ever played? There are a few options to choose from. Regardless of your thoughts, there is little doubt that No. 97 has gone supernova, and none of us wants him to walk away from the table.Shifting gears, the guys looked at Thursday's win over the Jets and how Winnipeg looked so shell-shocked as the game rolled along. Given that the Oilers were down 3-1 after 20 minutes and came roaring back to win, you have to appreciate the way the boys didn't fold their hand. And while some argue that they should beat the Jets because of how bad they are, expecting to win and fighting back from a 3-1 deficit are two different things. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' struggling bottom six, Kasperi Kapanen's return, Trent Frederic and Andrew Mangiapane being healthy scratched, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what the Oilers can do to get more production out of their bottom six. Given that players like Mangiapane, Frederic, and Henrique haven't scored nearly as much as we'd hope, the question was how the team can get more out of them without just trading someone away. Whether it's giving these guys a defined role or keeping them as healthy scratches, the boys tried their best to figure out a problem the coaches have struggled with all season. Changing gears, we looked at Kasperi Kapanen's return to the lineup and how having him back in the mix gives Kris Knoblauch more line combo options to play with. Given that Kapanen has missed the bulk of the season, it's going to be interesting to see how long he lasts beside Leon Draisaitl, since it's probably going to take a minute for him to get going. The guys also spent some time looking at Andrew Mangiapane and Trent Frederic as healthy scratches and what the decision means for both players moving forward. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with a round of Dan's Game. Seeing as the boys are trying to keep things fresh, Dan wanted to whip something up for the boys to give the first show of the week a little bit of a different flavour. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether or not the boys on the podcast would trade a prospect like Isaac Howard to Nashville in exchange for Filip Forsberg or a legit top-six winger like him. Given that Edmonton looks to be all in on another run at the Stanley Cup, would it make sense to flip a younger player like Howard to get a more proven player? Is there another solution the fellas didn't even think about?Shifting gears, the guys looked at the recall of Isaac Howard and Quinn Hutson from the Bakersfield Condors and how the two will fit into the lineup on their second tour of duty with the NHL club. Will these two get a chance to play significant minutes? Will they be stuck playing very little, and folks wonder why they can't produce? Only time will tell. What we do know for sure is that the Oilers need more scoring from their bottom six, and it will be fascinating to see how/if at all, these two can help solve the problem. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' Tuesday's matchup vs. the Flames, Connor Ingram's first win of the season, Baggedmilk's Trivia, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what has been the most surprising storyline of the NHL season so far. Whether it's the lack of success in Edmonton for Andrew Mangiapane or Trent Frederic for the Oilers, the Leafs struggling as mightily as they are, or how a team like the Ducks are fighting well above their weight class, there are plenty of stories to choose from. Changing gears, we looked at the latest injury updates from the Oilers. Given that Edmonton hasn't had a single game with a full, healthy lineup, the boys discussed the latest round of updates and whether the team will ever be able to ice a full roster. The guys also spent a few minutes talking about Trent Frederic being healthy scratched, and also what he needs to do to get back in the team's good graces. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Flames-specific questions ahead of Tuesday's Battle of Alberta. If you've heard any of the previous editions of BM's trivia, you'll know that Baggedmilk has been way off on some of the questions, which keeps Liam in the role of trivia marshal and auditor. Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!Powered by @bet365. Whatever the moment, it’s Never Ordinary at bet365.
