GOLDSTEIN Judge Debra H. Goldstein left the bench to follow her passion for writing mysteries. She is the author of Kensington’s Sarah Blair Mystery Series and two standalones: Maze in Blue and Should Have Played Poker. Her novels and short stories have received Silver Falchion, IPPY, AWC, and BWR awards and been named Agatha, Anthony, Derringer, and Claymore finalists. Debra’s short pieces have appeared in numerous periodicals and anthologies including Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, Black Cat Mystery Magazine, Mystery Weekly, Malice Domestic Murder Most Edible, Masthead, Murder by the Glass, Jukes & Tonks, An Element of Mystery, Paranoia Blues: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Songs of Paul Simon, and First Comes Love, Then Comes Murder. With Our Bellies Full and the Fire Dying, a collection of Debra's award-winning short mysteries, from cozy to dark, centering around family and friends, their sins and their sometimes redemption was recently published by White City Press. Judge, author, litigator, wife, step-mom, mother of twins, and civic volunteer, are all words that have been used to describe Debra. Her life and writings are equally diverse. Raised in New Jersey and Michigan, she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from Emory University. Before becoming a judge, she began her legal career doing international tax for General Motors, but after realizing she preferred people to numbers, she switched to labor litigation. The high point of her litigation career was winning a case of first impression for the Department of Labor that addressed equal pay in higher education. A civic volunteer in Birmingham, Alabama, Debra also serves on the national board of Sisters in Crime and previously was a national board member of Mystery Writers of America and president of Sinc’s largest chapter, the Guppies, and SEMWA. On a personal note, Debra is married to a man whose blood runs Crimson. Join Angela and Marta for their discussion of popular cozy mystery novel, Mango, Mambo, and Murder (A Caribbean Kitchen Mystery Book One) by Raquel V. Reyes 🔎 ABOUT THE BOOK Cuban-American cooking show star Miriam Quinones-Smith becomes a seasoned sleuth in Raquel Reyes's Caribbean Kitchen Mystery debut, a savory treat for fans of Joanne Fluke and Jenn McKinlay. Food anthropologist Miriam Quinones-Smith's move from New York to Coral Shores, Miami, is traumatic enough without having to deal with her son's toddler tantrums and her husband's midlife crisis. Her best friend, Alma, adds some spice back into Miriam's life when she offers her a job as an on-air cooking expert on a Spanish-language morning TV show. But when the newly minted star attends a Women's Club luncheon, a socialite sitting at her table suddenly falls face-first into the chicken salad, never to nibble again. When a second woman dies soon after, suspicions coalesce around a controversial Cuban herbalist, Dr. Fuentes--especially after the morning show's host collapses while interviewing him. But then, Detective Pullman learns that the socialite's death resulted from a drug overdose--and an anonymous tip fingers Alma as the pusher. Pullman persuades Miriam to ply her culinary know-how and her understanding of Coral Shores's Caribbean culture to help find the killer and clear Alma's name. While her hubby dallies with his ex-girlfriend, Juliet, Miriam quizzes her neighbors for answers and researches all manner of herbs. As the ingredients to the deadly scheme begin blending together, Miriam is on the verge of learning how and why the women died. But her snooping may turn out to be a recipe for her own murder. Do you love the Scottish Shire mystery series? The Cozy Mystery Book Club read book one in the series, Murder in a Scottish Shire, and loved it! Enjoy my conversation with the talented and prolific cozy author, Traci Hall. In the Interview We Discuss: 🔎 How to Write as a Duo 🔎 Creating a Long Running Cozy Mystery Series 🔎 Finding Your Writing Tribe 🔎 Lack of a Love Life (in a Cozy Mystery) 🔎 Book Boyfriend Material 🔎 Movie-Inspiration (Creating Cozy Characters) 🔎 New Ideas   ABOUT TRACI HALL My favorite part of writing is coming up with a story idea and then fleshing it out until there is a brand new world–-with characters that could be people you’d hang out with. Real issues, even in a fictional setting, need to resonate with the reader and I love mixing it all together. History with a romantic twist, add female guards and hot, sexy knights/nights :). An ancient curse? Even better! Or maybe you’d prefer sensual contemporary romance that takes place in a small town by the sea, where hearts are healed and love rekindled. Sand, sun and true love. Or how about the wild frontier of the Pacific Northwest? Gold mines, silver guns, emerald rivers. If young adult is more your style, I’ve got boys in trouble, girls in trouble, or a teenage scientific prodigy raised in a Wiccan environment who blames the full moon for her problems. When it comes right down to it, the characters are what drive the tale. They keep us up at night to read Just One More Page… Fun Fact: Traci Hall also writes as Traci Wilton and Ellie Brannigan. I had a blast interviewing cozy mystery author, Devon Delaney. She is the author of the Cook-Off mystery series published by Kensington Cozies. For more information about Devon, her books, and creative writing process, please listen to our chat 🔎 THE COOK-OFF MYSTERY SERIES: 📖 Book One: Expiration Date 📖 Book Two: Final Roasting Place 📖 Book Three: Guilty as Charred 📖 Book Four: Eat, Drink and Be Wary 📖 Book Five: Double Chocolate Cookie Murder 📖 Book Six: A Half-Baked Alibi 📖 Book Seven: Murder for Good Measure 📖 Book Eight: Serving Up Spite 📖 Book Nine: A Holiday for Homicide   ABOUT DEVON DELANEY I entered my first recipe contest on a whim. My three kids were all napping and I had a moment to browse a magazine where I saw an ad calling for recipes showcasing a piece of bread for a cash prize. I won the contest. Suddenly, I was hooked on a new hobby. Mealtime became an exercise in recipe experimentation, to the point my son asked me if we could have "regular" chicken as a special treat. I'm still considering. Despite the hardship (ha!) on my family, success in cooking competitions has earned me multiple trips and valuable prizes over the past twenty years. Meeting fellow cooking competitors has enriched my life immeasurably. Throughout my culinary journey, writing has always been a passion. Combining the two hobbies was as destined as the pairing of sea salt and caramel, and just as addicting. Speaking of hobbies, take a look at my other favorite interests I pursue with passion. All serve to inspire and motivate me to write on! Join the cozy conversation and Christmas fun with Angela Maria Hart and Regina Williams as they share their love of Mrs. Claus and the Santaland Slayings (Mrs. Claus Book One) by Liz Ireland. Let's combine everything we love about cozy mysteries with the holiday season 🎄   ABOUT THE BOOK   It's the first Christmas in Santaland for April Claus--but it may also be her last unless she can uncover a villain with a killer Christmas wish. . . Love is full of surprises--though few compare to realizing that you're marrying the real-life Santa. April Claus dearly loves her new husband, Nick, but adjusting to life in the North Pole is not all sugarplums and candy canes. Especially when a cantankerous elf named Giblet Hollyberry is killed--felled by a black widow spider in his stocking--shortly after publicly arguing with Nick. Christmastown is hardly a hotbed of crime, aside from mishaps caused by too much eggnog, but April disagrees with Constable Crinkle's verdict of accidental death. As April sets out to find the culprit, it'll mean putting the future of Christmas on the line--and hoping her own name isn't on a lethal naughty list . . .   GoodReads Page: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/55110674-mrs-claus-and-the-santaland-slayings    Regina's Medium: https://reginathesouthernista.medium.com/  @reginathesouthernista on Instagram The Cozy Mystery Book Club: https://thecozymysterybookclub.com/  Angela Maria Hart: https://angelamariahart.com/  @writerahart + @ cozymysteryclub on Instagram

I had the honor of interviewing Colleen Cambridge aka Colleen Gleason at Malice Domestic. We chatted all about our love of Agatha Christie, underrepresented/under appreciated Agatha Christie characters, Monk (tv show), how Colleen wrote over forty books, and so much more. 💻 ABOUT COLLEEN 📖 Colleen Gleason (aka Colleen Cambridge, C.M. Gleason, and Alex Mandon) is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling and award-winning author who can’t seem to decide what type of book to write…so she writes a lot of different genres! So far, Colleen has written everything from vampire hunters to dystopian romance, to steampunk, historical romance, and mysteries with a supernatural flair or a historical setting. One element, however, that appears in all of her stories, is that of partnership…whether it be professional, romantic, or both. All of Colleen’s books feature strong heroines experiencing fast-paced adventures, danger, mystery, and of course, romance. But at the core of each story is the belief that every woman deserves a partner who accepts her for her strengths as well as her weaknesses—and vice versa. Colleen lives in the midwest United States with her family and two dogs, and is always working on her next book. 🔎 WHERE TO FIND COLLEEN 📚 ✨ Website: https://www.colleengleason.com/colleen-cambridge/ ✨GoodReads (Colleen Cambridge): https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/21145337.Colleen_Cambridge ✨GoodReads (Colleen Gleason): https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/21145337.Colleen_Cambridge ✨TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@UCzo5r7Y8-pf3aXyz0d1bXnw ✨Twitter: https://twitter.com/colleengleason ✨Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/colleengleason/ ~*~♡~*~♥~*~♡~*~♥~*~♡~*~♥~*~♡~* ~ ~ ~ WHERE TO FIND ME (ANGELA) ONLINE ~ ~ ♡ Website: http://angelamariahart.com/ ♡ Twitter: https://twitter.com/writerahart (@writerahart) ♡ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/writerahart/?hl=en (@writerahart) ♡ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/booksaremyhart (@booksaremyhart) Featuring Classically Cozy Conversations & Chatting Romance ♡ GoodReads: https://www.goodreads.com/angelamariahart (@angelamariahart) ♡ Newsletter Landing Page: https://mailchi.mp/12736139528e/angelamariahart linktr.ee/angelamariahart ~*~♡~*~♥~*~♡~*~♥~*~♡~*~♥~*~♡~*~ THE COZY MYSTERY BOOK CLUB ✧ Twitter: https://twitter.com/cozymysteryclub (@cozymysteryclub)  ✧ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cozymysteryclub/?hl=en (@cozymysteryclub)  ✧ Newsletter Landing Page: https://mailchi.mp/9e1787486d8b/thecozymysterybookclub https://linktr.ee/cozymysteryclub ✧ Complete YouTube Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2ywVWROGcKu0hZmA6jGUK6kR8kGAhBb- ** Where to Find Cozy Mystery Book Club Swag ** ✦ Zazzle: https://www.zazzle.com/store/booksaremyhart ✦ TeeSpring: https://teespring.com/stores/angela-maria-hart ✦ Society6: https://society6.com/writerahart
