Impact over Influence

Who's Ready for a New Season?! How about we start this year out Contending for Faith? The faith entrusted to God's people for which they must contend, is grounded in Jesus Christ.

John 15:7-8 Jesus says that His words should remain in us so that we have power by receiving what we ask of the Father. The disciples who were present at the time of Jesus witnessed his power and exercised it for themselves. Mark 3:14- Jesus is the one who appoints authority. Christ wants us to abide in him so that by doing so he will work through us. Jesus wants his followers to free people just like he did. He freed captives. His name holds power over evil. We should live our lives declaring power in the holy name of JESUS!

Abiding for truth I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me- John 14:6 When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman in John chapter 4, he told her that a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:23-24

Week two brings you a better understanding of God and his design for love. Explore John chapter 15 with Shelli as she works along side us to uncover with that should really look like. Abiding in Jesus means being attached to Him. Abiding in Jesus means abiding in His Love and being a part of His business. As His children, He includes us by giving us His love within us. Not all people are God's children. Only faith in Christ brings us His sonship. Every benefit of peace, joy, patience, clarity, purpose, and so much more only comes from Jesus. To not only survive in this world, but to thrive in it is what God wants for us, and abiding in Jesus is how this is possible. Connection to Christ isn’t just needed for pastors and preachers. It is necessary for moms, daughters, lawyers, and lunch ladies. We ALL need this study.

Who's life are you living? Does your plan reflect Gods demands? As the book of your life is being written, Shelli challenges us to look at these questions and more.

Kingdom is at hand. Kingdom is things of God. Thy Kingdom come. We want to fully accept the free gift of Jesus and then all that comes with that. Why? So that we can give it to others. James chapter 4 is all about spiritual evaluation. James tells us from verse 1 that external turmoil is linked to internal troubles. If we take a look on the inside of us, what is the cause of the effect? Control comes from lack of security. Vanity comes from lack of self confidence.
