Some days I feel victorious, but most days I’m just trying to keep all the plates spinning—getting the kids where they need to be, checking off the to‑do list, squeezing in a little creativity, and maybe ending the day with enough energy left to breathe. Victory can look like accomplishment, quiet, learning something new, or simply making it through without falling apart. But John reminds us of a deeper truth: in Christ, we’re already victorious, not because we’ve mastered our lives, but because God’s love has already overcome everything that tries to wear us down.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4t4Hrwa We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. When you think of love, your mind might jump to Valentine’s aisles overflowing with pink hearts or the predictable sweetness of a Hallmark movie—but John invites us into something far deeper than romance or sentiment. He points us toward a love that isn’t about butterflies or grand gestures, but about recognizing Christ, living through Him, and letting that shape how we show up in the world. As we step into today’s passage, we’re reminded that real love—the kind that comes from God—changes everything about how we see, discern, and care for the people right in front of us.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/3MaYKv5 We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. When I think of being pampered, my mind goes straight to rare spa days or the simple joy of someone else cooking for me—those small, unexpected moments that feel abundant and thoughtful. It struck me recently that the way those gestures make me feel seen and cared for is just a tiny glimpse of the over‑the‑top, beyond‑expectation love God pours out on us every day. That’s the kind of lavish love John invites us to notice, receive, and ultimately reflect as we follow Jesus.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4jZVzmq We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. I’ll never forget the day my son wandered straight into the path of a speeding bike, completely unaware while I called his name louder and louder. My frustration wasn’t really about his behavior—it was that he didn’t hear me when I was trying to protect him, when all I wanted was for him to trust that I was guiding him toward safety. That moment has stayed with me, because it mirrors what God desires from us too: not perfection, but a heart that listens and trusts as we learn to walk in His light.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4k3Riyf We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Sometimes I think about how few things I’ve truly seen “from the beginning.” Even with my own kids—whom I met on their very first day—I’m still discovering who they’re becoming, reminding me that most beginnings start long before we ever notice them. John opens his letter by pointing us back to the One who was there from the very beginning, inviting us into a fellowship that’s been unfolding since before any of us took our first breath.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/3O6PMPY We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Have you ever read a familiar passage and suddenly a detail jumps out that you somehow missed every other time? It’s amazing how one small shift in what we notice can open up an entirely new perspective. That’s how it’s been for me as I’ve revisited the women of the early church—women whose names I recognized, but whose courage, leadership, and faithfulness I’m only now beginning to fully appreciate.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4pL2wsZ We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Crowds can bring out the best or worst in us, and I still remember the first time I stepped into one after the pandemic—my heart raced, my chest tightened, and I had to escape just to breathe again. So when I read the story of the woman who pushed through a crushing crowd just to reach Jesus, I can only imagine the courage it took for her to show up in her pain, her isolation, and her desperation. Her story reminds us that even when we feel unseen or defined by the things we’d rather hide, Jesus meets us with healing, dignity, and a tenderness that calls us by faith, not by our suffering.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4jOXABP We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Some days it feels like my boundaries are made of wet tissue paper—I know what I should say no to, yet I cave anyway and deal with the fallout later. Thankfully, God gives us the Spirit as a steady inner guide, even when our resolve wobbles and the consequences of giving in become painfully clear. Today’s story reminds us that God’s people have struggled with this too, and that sometimes courage looks like resisting the pressure around us and choosing faithfulness over the easy yes.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4jQF2Bi We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Sometimes the smallest things—like a missed snack—can turn an ordinary day into a full‑blown disaster, and any parent who’s navigated toddler life knows exactly what I mean. That very real phenomenon we call 'hanger' doesn’t just show up in modern family outings; it even shows up in Scripture. Today we’re looking at Abigail, a woman whose wisdom (and well‑timed food delivery) diffused a crisis far bigger than a toddler meltdown, reminding us how grounded faith can steady us when emotions run hot.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/49yVzpW We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Sometimes we read the Bible and forget that its women weren’t background characters—they were fierce, faithful, and fully present in God’s story. This past year, as I studied Women in the Bible, I was struck by how their steady, everyday faith positioned them for bold action when the moment came. Two such women, Deborah and Jael, stepped into history not as placeholders, but as powerful leaders through whom God delivered Israel, reminding us that courage and calling are never limited by gender.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/3YPMnHx We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Dr. King's final speech is a powerful reminder that following Jesus means choosing compassion over comfort and courage over fear, even when the road ahead feels uncertain. As we revisit these words, we’re invited to ask the same piercing question: If I don’t stop to help, what will happen to them.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4pBWJFO We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. It still amazes me that the most iconic part of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech wasn’t planned—just a Spirit‑led moment sparked by a friend’s encouragement. As we look at this message of justice and dignity, we’re reminded that God has always called His people to let righteousness flow and to honor every person as His image bearer.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4jBMEr4 We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Dr. King didn’t just preach about loving your enemies—he returned to it year after year, wrestling with it, practicing it, and letting Jesus reshape his own responses to hatred. As we look at this sermon, we’re invited into that same hard, holy work of choosing agape love where our instincts would choose anything but.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/45KD2of We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Even with all his influence and accolades, Dr. King never let ego take the driver’s seat—and his honesty about that struggle feels incredibly relevant for us today. As we look at his sermon on conquering self‑centeredness, we’re invited to let Jesus reshape our instincts too, trading mirrors for windows and choosing a life that points beyond ourselves.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/3LJRHJy We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. Martin Luther King Jr. Day invites us to remember a man who didn’t just preach the way of Jesus but lived it—choosing peace, justice, and sacrificial love in a world determined to resist it. As we revisit his sermons this week, may his words stir us toward a faith that doesn’t just speak, but acts.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4pOjOFG We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. When tragedy keeps piling up, it’s hard to make sense of anything, let alone find joy in the middle of it. Yet James invites us to see trials not as proof of God’s absence, but as places where God meets us, strengthens us, and grows something deep and resilient in us. It’s not easy—but it is a promise worth holding onto.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/4q7x5K9 We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. As a kid, I dreamed of opening a door into a world as colorful as Oz, but I didn’t realize God was offering something even better. Christianity can look strict or muted from the outside, yet Jesus tells us He came so we could have abundant, joy‑filled, technicolor life. Let’s talk about what it means to live in that kind of fullness.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/3LwhUey We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. The new year always tempts me to hustle my way into a “better” version of myself, but Romans 12 gently reminds me that transformation isn’t a self‑improvement project. It’s the slow, steady work of God as we open our hearts, our habits, and our minds to Him. This week, we’re leaning into what it means to be formed—not by pressure, but by the Spirit.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/49gYJ00 We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. The “Sunday Scaries” used to hit me hard, but somewhere along the way I started treating Monday like a performance review—measuring my worth by how much I could accomplish. Scripture tells a very different story: God invites us into rest, not hustle, into childlike trust rather than adult‑sized productivity. This week, we’re exploring what it means to take on Jesus’s easy yoke and actually live unhurried.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/3NblBH0 We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word. I grew up believing God wanted perfection from me—right answers, right behavior, right everything. It took years to realize God wasn’t asking for performance but relationship, not flawless behavior but a heart that turns toward Him. This week, we’re talking about what God truly wants for us: reconciliation, restoration, and a life made whole in Christ.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/3YtnT6U We’d love to encourage you to spend even more time in the Word.
