Nathan O'Driscoll is a Tiger. Here's his 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach verdict, and why Richmond won this trade.Day two of trade period gave us one official move. Noddy leaves Fremantle for Richmond, and the Tigers paid a late pick they were never going to use. For a bloke who played 17 games this year, including the Elimination Final against Hawthorn, that's a steal. He gives Richmond something they don't have. A penetrating left foot, serious metres gained and clean hands overhead. Put him on the wing opposite Retschko and that outside game looks a lot better. He can also roll through the inside if they need a different look. The fantasy call is where it gets tricky. He averaged 66.3 in SuperCoach and 64.1 in AFL Fantasy this year. Classic coaches need 90+ across a long stretch, and I'm not sold he gets there. In draft, I like him a lot. And if he lands a halfback distributor role, it's a whole different story.
Zach Merrett is a Hawk. Is he a 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach lock, or does Hawthorn's points spread kill his scoring?Eleven straight seasons averaging 100 or more. Now Zach walks into the best AFL Fantasy scoring team in the comp and the 4th best in SuperCoach. Sounds perfect. I'm not convinced. Here's the problem. Zach's market share of points has sat between 6.8% and 7.1% for four years. Hawthorn didn't have a single player above 5.5% in 2026. The Hawks score heaps, but they share it around. Sicily one week, Day the next, Newcombe after that. I break down the optimist case, the pessimist case, and why I'm happy to wait and be right instead of starting him. Then there's Essendon. The rebuild has finally hit the midfield, and that opens up serious points. I name the Bomber I think pops in 2027, plus two names keeper and dynasty coaches should not be selling.Social Media:FacebookTwitterInstagramTikTokCheck Out the Store
Collingwood just traded the greatest player in their history. I never thought I'd say it. At 38, Scott Pendlebury still averaged 83.8 in SuperCoach and 79.2 in AFL Fantasy in 2026, with 20+ disposals in 12 of his 17 games.Gold Coast aren't buying a midfielder. They're buying an on-field coach. I break down why leadership cost the Suns in 2026, how Pendlebury helps Noah Anderson and that young group, and why I'd be surprised if he plays more than 12 to 15 games. Then the Collingwood side. His CBAs dropped from 65-75% early in the year to 20-30% late. This midfield now belongs to Nick Daicos and Lachie Neale. For 2027, I've got zero interest in classic. In draft there's one scenario where he makes sense: a late handcuff if you already own a Suns mid.Social Media:FacebookTwitterInstagramTikTokCheck Out the Store
Two years ago Jesse Hogan kicked 77 goals and won the Coleman. This year he averaged 55.8 in SuperCoach and 49.1 in AFL Fantasy, and GWS let him walk for next to nothing. That gap is the whole story for 2027.I break down why Collingwood needed him. Only Dan McStay and Tim Membrey kicked 30+ for the Pies this year, and losing Brody Mihocek hurt more than most realised. Then the Giants. Greene, Stringer and Hogan are all gone, and that's 100 goals out the door. Cadman, Gruzewski and Brown have to find another level. Then the verdict. If Hogan's fit and switched on, there's serious points upside on his 2026 numbers, especially in SuperCoach where contested marks and accuracy get paid. But there's a third variable most coaches will miss: the early fixture. I tell you which matchups make me fade and which ones make me pounce.Social Media:FacebookTwitterInstagramTikTokCheck Out the Store
Jordon Butts is a Western Bulldog. Here's what it means for the Dogs' defence, the Crows and your 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach side. How many times have we watched a monster key forward take the Dogs apart? Butts is the fix. He isn't elite at any one thing. What he does is lock down the opposition's number one tall. That lets Khamis and O'Donnell drop back into their natural roles instead of playing undersized on key forwards. For Adelaide, the compo pick might be worth as much as Butts was. Keane and Borlase are now their top two. The bigger story is the heat this puts on North Melbourne. If they want Nick Murray, they'll have to pay overs. The fantasy verdict is simple. Key position defenders rarely matter, and Butts (SC 53.4, AF 42.2 from 9 games in 2026) is no exception. There's one small knock-on worth watching, though. It could help Bailey Dale.Social Media:FacebookTwitterInstagramTikTokCheck Out the Store
