A Lot of people wonder if self care is important. It is really easy to stay focused on all of the challenges, tasks, work, and experiences life brings you. More often than not, the challenges that life brings causes us to forget to prioritize our health and wellbeing. Although most people like the concept of self care, the reason why many of us don’t participate in it is because we don’t have time. In all honesty, society doesn't take self care seriously enough, although it can help people to be more productive, and overall just happier. The times where I allow myself to take a break from working, and get the proper rest I need. I feel a lot more energized, and significantly less anxious about things which is  why I feel like it’s really important to find ways to pause and take care of yourself throughout the day. Remember that self care is about you. What may work for me may not work for you because there are plenty of things that can be considered self care; it isn’t just about sleeping though.  Sure that's a part of it, but self care is also about spending time with loved ones, eating healthy, doing things you love, organizing yourself, and more. In this episode I wanted to share with you all a few things that I do to take care of myself when I start to feel burnt out.
First of all I wanna say, being a girl and having other friends that are girls is so important because no matter how close you are to your guy friends, there will always be things that they don’t understand, or that you can’t share because they're guys. I honestly wish that I did have more close friends who were girls, but this year especially I’ve just had a difficult time being in a friend group with all girls. (DISCLAIMER FOR THIS EPISODE:  I am not trying to speak to everyone else's experience, nor say that these issues aren’t possible any other type of friendship, but this is what I’ve experienced, and heard that others have experienced) I am not saying that I would never be open to getting as close to a bunch of girls like I was before, but I feel like me and a lot of other people have had really difficult experiences in female friend groups because often the way we as girls handle problems is so toxic...
TW: episode mentions eating disorder, depression, and anxiety. If you feel uncomfortable with these topics check out our last episode!!! Trust and believe when I say that finding confidence in yourself and loving who you are is a long and confusing journey that has no real start or endpoint. For me, it's always been a challenge to feel comfortable in my own skin after being told that I shouldn't for such a long time. Junior year ended, and to be honest with you all I can finally say that I'm at a point where I love who I've become. Listen as I chat with you about my self love journey and share what I've learned from it.  Follow us on insta: @anythingandeverything.podcast_
