This week’s sermon introduces the book of Revelation. We addresses common misconceptions about Revelation, urging listeners to discard sensationalist interpretations and approach the text with fresh eyes. Revelation has historically offered hope, comfort, and guidance for discipleship, rather than being a mere predictor of future events. The sermon also touches on the context of the original audience—persecuted Christians in the first century—reminding us that the book's message is timeless and relevant for all generations.
In this week's sermon, we delved into the profound question of what it means to live out our faith beyond the pews. Drawing inspiration from John 21, we examined the post-resurrection narrative where Jesus reinstates Peter, teaching us that our past does not hinder our future in Christ. The message challenged us to confront the barriers that impede our mission—our past, the cost of discipleship, and the distraction of others' paths. We were encouraged to embrace the adventure of following Jesus, assured that despite the costs, it is a journey of incomparable fulfillment and purpose. This sermon is a call to action for all believers to live a life on mission, proclaiming the good news and loving others in every aspect of life.
Explores the challenges of belief through the story of Thomas, who doubted Jesus' resurrection until he had a personal encounter with the risen Christ. The sermon emphasizes the importance of personal faith over group identity, the centrality of the resurrection to Christian belief, and the need for personal encounters with Jesus in the midst of doubt and pain. It encourages believers to support those with doubts and to seek Jesus personally for transformation and life.
