The Sauchie Poltergeist is a chilling tale from 1960 in the village of Sauchie, Scotland. The mysterious events centered around 11-year-old Virginia Campbell, who had recently moved from Ireland. Witnesses reported unexplained knocking sounds, furniture moving on its own and other strange disturbances in the MacDonald family home. Clergy, journalists and paranormal investigators examined the case, but no definitive explanation emerged. Was this a genuine haunting or was this the psychic powers manifesting of a young girl?Resources:https://supernaturalmagazine.com/articles/the-sauchie-poltergeistThe Sauchie Poltergeist book Hosted on Acast. Often called "Europe's Alcatraz", Crumlin Road Gaol (also known as HM Prison Belfast) sits upon ten acres of ground in North Belfast. It was opened in 1846, making it the only Victorian era prison to currently exist in Northern Ireland. The first 106 inmates from the old prison in Carrickfergus walked into Crumlin's gates in 1846, shackled in chains. Men, women and children were imprisoned here - including the Ulster Suffragettes. The jail was functional until 1996, when the Governor of Belfast closed the heavy gates for the final time. It lay derelict until renovations in the 2010s, opening as a tourist attraction in 2012. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the gaol is said to be incredibly haunted. There are sights of old prison wardens and children, as well as disembodied voices. Objects are also said to move by themselves. The gaol holds the original hanging gallows and noose. We did our very first paranormal investigation there - and captured some creepy shit. Listen if you dare! All Hallow's Eve is the traditional name for what we would all call Halloween. It is believed on October 31st, the veil between the world of the living and the dead is at its thinnest. We probably associate Halloween now with trick-or-treating, jack-o-lanterns or pumpkins, toffee apples and dressing up in costumes. Historically, this day has been a celebration of the dead, praying for those who have passed on. People in Ireland and Scotland would even set a place at the table for their dead relative to join the dinner.
