Our goal in this podcast is to share with you all the information, tips and tools we successfully use to help our members. We touch different subjects about weight loss such as psychology, anatomy, diet, exercise, human behavior and many others.

A couple of years ago a client came with her husband to enroll in our program to transform her body. We will call her Susanna. Susanna was very embarrassed and she was not sure whether to sign up. When she enrolled we started with her plan and she was very attentive to the changes she had to make to get results. Susana started with 42% fat and now she is at 22%. As I was evaluating her, her body changed, although sometimes instead of advancing, she went backwards. For example, several of the evaluations she lost 2 to 3% fat, but sometimes she regained that 2% that she lost. But, by the end, she was losing fat.  Although it has taken her time to transform her body, and she is very happy with her results, what matters is the mental and life change that she has achieved. As I evaluated her, I learned that her life was in chaos and that she was depressed. Before starting, Susanna was an irresponsible mother who had no motivation to live. She lived by inertia, she drank a lot, she didn't pay attention to her children. Now Susana sees life differently and with joy. Her exercise has given another meaning to her life. Her children are very happy to see her active and positive mother. Apart from unhealthy food, she ate a lot of junk food and fast food and fed her family in the same way. How Long Does It Take to See Real Weight Loss and Body Transformation Results?One of the most common questions I get from people before they start our program is:The answer is: it depends on your starting point, your goals, and—most importantly—your consistency. But here’s a realistic timeline you can expect if you follow a well-designed weight loss and strength training program.If you are just starting out, you’ll usually notice results in the first 30 days. For example, if you weigh 210 lbs at 5'7" and want to lose 10 lbs, you may lose that weight in just one month with proper nutrition and exercise. But if you weigh 160 lbs at 5'7", losing those same 10 lbs may take closer to 3–4 months. Not everyone has the privilege of living above 100 years of age. How Many Calories Should I Eat Per Day?I am going to be honest with you. I never count my calories and I am at 11% body fat and have been in there since I remember. My wife also does not count her calories and she is at 18% body fat and has been there for at least two years now. Also, I don’t teach our members at Custom Body Fitness to count calories to lose weight and here is why:According to research you need between 1,500 and 2,000 calories a day for you to survive and stay healthy. However, this is not applicable to everyone. Even if you use the calculator to enter your weight and the calories you need, there is no accuracy in such an equation. This weekend my family and I went out to eat breakfast. When I was reserving our table, I met Klaws dad and Klaws son. Dad is 105 years of age and he carries a big smile. When we got seated, our tables were next to each other, so I started a conversation with Klaws son.He asked me what I do to stay in shape and I answered with the common answer:“I exercise 5 times a week, I eat healthy and hike twice to three times a week.”We continued talking and that is when I found out that his dad is 105 years of age. So I asked Klaws dad how he managed to live so long. He said that exercising and stretching is the key. The older you get the more you slow down the more you need to fight that by exercising more. Plus, he got rid of the fat, sugar and alcohol.
